The only microstock revenue that matters to me is my microstock revenue. I can't care less if company A doubles company B or whatever, no matter how entertaining these kind of informations can be for you.

Maybe. We will see what happens. At least the usual istock's customers don't seem to be in the bargain hunters category (I say that considering that most of my sales in the last months have been S+). For the new clients they try to atract, it may be different. Don't get my wrong: I'not for subs, I've never been and I never will, unless I begin to sell eight hundred subs a day. Actually, this move, if backfires, could move me to to the independent status. To sell subs, I can sell them at many sites.

Of course t has a logic. The client likes this file, no matter if good or bad, and he buys it because he just knows he can't get it cheaper anywhere else.

With over 300 employees and their new bright offices, it seems that SS could appoint someone to go after this guy. He says he's an SS contributor, he downloads specific lightboxes created by their costumers; the same costumers could be traced through theis IP's (when going to the lightbox) or fiverr names (you can find someof them by simply googling their fiverr nicknames)... There are a thousand things they could do, if they really cared. Maybe they can assume this loss... But, what about SS contributors?

The deadline for sending the lightbox is the end of April. Considering that, and istock's history of delays, I guess that subs won't begin until early May. For me, the latter, the better.

Send them a registered letter. That has worked very well for me in several problems (although I have never done it.... yet... for a copyright matter).

I've bought a couple of fiverr gigs. The voiceover stuff is worth more than $5. Sometimes not a whole lot more, but if you dig through enough samples there are some people on there who are pretty good.
I also bought a product review video, and the person did a good job but it was a little awkward. It's hard to make a product review ever sound authentic, so it's more an issue of the nature of product review videos than in the abilities of the person doing the gig.
I bought a translation gig, from a translator with good buyer's comments, and I got a barely edited, infamous, Google Translate job. Dind't leave feedback, just fleed from fiverr.

In addition to being disgusted about the slimeballs listing stock photos for sale on this site, it was pretty crazy to see the things people will do for $5. I can only assume that none of them are very good
This. I am totally giving "5 professional isolations for $5" a go. Sure, it will probably come out terribly, but it's worth risking $5...
No. They just send already isolated images that they got from SS or anywhere.

I understand the fear of retaliation, but I think the anonymous folks should know that being anonymous in any forum greatly diminishes the value some folks will place on their comments. Especially in this business, where we talk about levels of success, portfolio performance, etc., knowing where the comments about those things come from can be extremely important. There is a world of difference between someone saying they are having problems getting new images to sell at whatever agency for example when that person has 10 images in their portfolio or 10,000. Even the kind of work people do is important contextual information in any discussion here, and without that it is often really difficult to gauge the significance of a comment.
Speaking for myself, I don't mind at all if being anonymous "disminishes the value placed on my comments". I'm here to learn and gather information: now and then I can offer bits of my own data, but that's secondary (for me).
yeah, guess we should all be like you, enjoying everything we can get and sharing nada, oh whatever!
Read it again. I share, now and then, but if people thinks that data from anonymous posters are worthless, it's not my fault.

According to Bruce, in an interview, Stocksy is giving an RPI of about 1,4 $/month (60.000 files, 85.000 dollars payed to contributors in February). Although sometime I got more than that at IS, now I don't reach this mark. On the other hand, however, it doesn't appear easy to get a significant number of files through the Stocksy inspection process, because they are looking for a very specific type of file.

"so assuming an average royalty in the range of 25% - 30% a total contributor revenue of $20 per month for a 100 images portfolio seems to be roughly fitting."
This is a low amount compared with my IS earnings. Not very encouraging and pretty disappointing. I appreciate it's an average but still.
Yes, it is, not even a fourth of what I get at istock. I really hope that the new istock subs program doesn't end in this kind of little change earnings.

I sincerely hope, it goes well for you. For all exclusives.
I just know as a customer I would be going for the S+ first. I mean they can get the main collection files everywhere.
But this is what I mean is that you have absolutely no guarantee that your income will be the same level next year. istock is not your employer, you are not on a fixed salary.
There are few guarantees but looking at former exclusives it seems close to a guarantee that leaving will cost money and probably a lot. Maybe in 2-3 years it will come back but there is no guarantee there.
If things go the way they're going, many of us will be down and out on iStock long before then - with the subs scheme, it could be extremely soon.
Yes. Unless the subscription scheme works much better that I fear it will, it will be an stampede of exclusives out of istock, even if there aren't any exciting alternatives in the microstock market.

(sorry for digging up an old thread, but I didn't want to create a new one...)
I have been asked if I want to sell the rights of one image. I would like to set a high price (for example $3000) to see if I'm lucky.
What troubles me: I would have 72 hours to remove the image from all sites. What if I'm not able to do that? There are some sites, that doesn't allow user to remove files by themselves, for example Veer.
Also removing images from all reseller networks could take time, and almost impossible to verify if the images are deleted or not...
Have anyone succeeded in this?
If some site is slower removing, you can always --in the meanwhile-- try deleting all the significant keywords of the file, to avoid it being found.

Better or worse, different. But if you haven't understood it, don't try, you won't.

Being unable to understand that having what competitors doesn't have --don't even matter if better or worse-- it's a big plus for any business in any part of the world, is extremely nearsighted.

I'm exclusive and I'm not happy at all. This is a mistake. For me, exclusiveness has suddenly lost all his appeal.

They are looking for new images and can't find them!
Files still ARE showing in portfolios but ARE NOT showing up in searches. Ghost ship, ghost files...
Search works very well and very fast.

That just affects a handfull of files. Btw, I just sold one uploaded yesterday.
