Veer / Re: Where is "past payments" link at Veer?
« on: November 09, 2010, 11:40 »
Is it so complicated to implement simple and visible link to the past payments? I would just like to know when I was paid, and how much.
If someone could show me where I can see this? Maybe I just can't find it?

That's coming.
We're planning for it to be in our next release, part 2 of our revamp of the stats/royalty page. Will be out towards the end of the year.

Veer / Re: Veer Payment
« on: October 29, 2010, 11:16 »
I still haven't been paid. It's been about a week since I received notice that they have authorized payment and about a month since the end of last month. Is there an official word on this or is it just... it happens when it happens?  ???

It normally would have hit your account within a day or two of receipt of the payment advice statement. This is abnormal, and fallout of some issues we had with PayPal earlier in the month. We're tracking these down and working on reprocessing/resending payment.

Apologies for the delay. Thanks for your patience.

Veer / New features on veer.com
« on: October 26, 2010, 19:02 »
Hi All -

As many of you have already noticed - we pushed a release live on veer.com this past weekend.
This post here  -  http://ideas.veer.com/group/marketplace/discussions/162  -  covers the details, but wanted to share the news here as well.

The recently redesigned veer.com is off to a great start, but were not content to coast. Veer is working hard to continue updating our site, making improvements in usability and features for both contributors and buyers. Last weekend, a release that included numerous site enhancements went live.

Here are the changes we think you will be most interested in:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Improved statistics and royalty reporting:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Based upon your feedback, weve improved the royalty reporting stats on the dashboard to better show you your current and lifetime earnings, as well as changed the customizable date range from weeks to months to better support offline reporting.

Its been clear from talking to many of you that the table view showing sales was much more useful than the graphs, so we made the table view the new default, but the graphs are still visible if you choose.

Weve also made the download as .csv link more visible for you Excel junkies. ;)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Batch-enabled uploading:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Weve improved the look and feel of the upload interface, and added batch functionality for keywording and disambiguation. You can now add or remove keywords to multiple images at once. When editing keywords, you can now toggle between shared and superset. Shared shows only the keywords common across all selected images. Superset shows the all of the aggregated keywords from all selected images. Happy keywording!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New localizations:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Were also working to get more eyes and sales on your images by making the site more accessible to a wider array of customers worldwide. This release included French and Italian localization of veer.com, in addition to our existing German and UK sites. Veer is now better able to support buyers in the biggest European markets, and forthcoming marketing initiatives in Europe will help spread the word. Localization not only includes site graphics and copy on customer facing pages, but also search (through the power of our CV).

Check the Ideas post to see a few screenshots of the Veer homepage in German, French and Italian.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stay tuned as Veer continues to work hard to drive more traffic and customers to your images and make your site experience an excellent one.

- Brian

Awesome job Brian & team :) Thanks for listening to our feedback.  Love how we can actually see what has sold now, also.

Thanks to you and everyone who has provided feedback!

Guys,really..., I don't understand your big "Wooow effect" !??
Or you expect better search engine position when Brian reads your "Wow messages"... ;D

I am also grateful for the new data,I like Veer and their effort, but some things are still incomplete, there is only lifetime earnings...

Still missing also two main things:

-payment history...
-monthly and lifetime taxes...

Correct me if I am wrong....

This was phase 1 of improving the stats and royalty display.
Payment history and stored payment statements are coming in the next release (before the end of the year).

« on: October 11, 2010, 14:27 »
... We expect to return to sustainable turnaround times ...

Oh no __ not the 'S' word again.

Hah. Ok.
"normal" "typical" "expected" "sane" "regular" "days not months".
Take your pick.

Agreed that "s" word can seem like mumbo-jumbo. ;)

Shame about the review time tho, they accepted all my application files the same day however my second batch has been sitting there for two weeks or more  :-[

Even worse here. My images have been waiting in the queue for more than a month now.

Although our expanded editing team finished the Dash for Cash, there is still a large backlog of content submitted after the program ended.
We're working to bring service waits down as quickly as we can. We expect to return to sustainable turnaround times in November.

hi brian,

I had some approved eps vector appears as small thumbnails.. there are quite a few of it. any other vector contributors had same problems?

i had received dash for cash bonus too.. hope veer is getting more sales!

Hi mtkang -

This issue crops up on some batches from time to time. Best to email Ryan at [email protected] and he can take a look.

Alternatively - you can supply your own JPEG previews by using the web uploader and uploading a .JPG version with the same filename as the .EPS version. (ie: mysweetvector1.eps, mysweetvector1.jpg).

Thanks,

Veer / End of Summer Update
« on: October 01, 2010, 04:45 »
Hi All -

Some updates to share - top of which is that our editing team has completed the Dash for Cash backlog, and remaining bonus payments have now been posted to stats pages (remember to choose the table view for detail).  We are now working through the post-Dash for Cash backlog, and expect to return to normal service times (1 week) in November.

I've posted the full version of this update on our Ideas section here:
http://ideas.veer.com/group/marketplace/discussions/158

------------------------

The redesigned Veer.com released in mid-July and is off to an excellent start. Both brand new and long-time customers love the simplified site, the industry leading payment flexibility and the single search grid with easy to use filters. Were welcoming lots of new customers who are excited about what Veer is about and the great choice of content across the full royalty-free price spectrum.

A reminder of what Veer offers contributors:

A simple royalty structure with the same rates applied to all contributors. We pay any contributor up to 40% on any sale. See full details here:http://ideas.veer.com/group/marketplace/discussions/150

Easy and quick upload features, including batch functionality. No categories to mess with.

Connection to the Veer community of creatives. Unique people, fun stuff, and tools to connect on Veer Ideas.

Marketing support from Veers award-winning creative team, with interesting and innovative campaigns driving more and more buyers to Veer.

------------------------
Latest Veer Marketing Activities:

With a simplified and unified site in place, our marketing efforts are now in full swing with more campaigns scheduled this throughout the Fall. Youve likely seen Veer ad banners showing off our slogan and vision Veer makes it easier to be creative while browsing tech, creative, and design sites like Design Taxi, Digital Arts, and Creativity. Weve heard from many contributors who are starting to see the increased customer activity reflect in a ramp up in royalties.

In addition to more traditional email and web marketing, weve fostered unique partnerships with important community partners like Behance with whom we share a common creative spirit and a deep connection to the design world. Check out the posts of the Behance teams Inspiration Series: http://www.behance.com/teamblog?topic=34

The Veer Summer Activity Book for Creatives is an annual tradition we get great response from designers and agencies that actually look forward to this direct mail piece. Congrats again to the members of our community whose content was included! If you havent seen the online version (  http://www.veer.com/ideas/activitybook/online/index.html#spread=0&page=0&kick=yes )   fully interactive puzzles and games on web browsers (or designed to be super awesome on an iPad) its pretty neat.

Veer has also joined your grandma and your mom were up on that Facebook thing. If you havent seen our spot yet check us out for updates and maybe even click that like button to become a fan: http://www.facebook.com/VeerIdeas

------------------------
Site development in the works for an upcoming release:

Improvements to the contributor upload interface and statistics/royalty display.
- Clear indication of lifetime earnings vs unpaid balance
- More logical timeframe choice (no more weeks!)
- Tweaks to the upload interface to make it even better

Ongoing refinements and iterative improvements across critical customer facing areas of the site

------------------------

We are grateful to all of our existing contributors for your support. After carving out a very successful place in the industry as a macrostock player since 2002, Veers move into the microstock segment is past the point of simply taking shape. We see that it is starting to resonate with both buyers and contributors. Its been amazing, and there is more good stuff to come. We hope that you are seeing that were headed in a great direction.

Veer / Re: Veer? what are they doing??
« on: September 28, 2010, 11:13 »
My images were reviewed within a week, all were rejected and I was told not to contribute anymore. I guess they only want IS diamonds to apply.

Hi Azurelaroux -

I'm checking into this now, but that doesn't sound like something we would do.
We don't limit new submissions - new users who don't quite pass muster with their initial 10 are welcome to keep trying. (At least 7 of 10 must be acceptable for a new user to be approved and their account unlocked).

I'll PM you.

In general for best and quickest help on specific questions regarding account acceptance or any questions on individual images, please email us at [email protected]

Not sure if it was an oversight (or if I just confused you... ) - but you didn't answer my question about the cumulative total.  Is it not possible to have this?   :'(

Hi Rubyroo -

I did miss that question - yes, that will be fixed as well. Switching display to a lifetime total and unpaid accrued balance. No more rolling 1 year figure.
In a second release we will then be adding prior payment information directly on the stats page.

Best,

 - Brian

And as long as we're making requests, can we please have someone who actually understands graphs do something about Veer's?  I'd describe what's wrong with the bar and line graphs, but it's easier to say what's right: not much.  Bars are in the wrong place, points on graphs don't go where the axes say they should go, it's a mess.

Point taken. Are you referring to the summary graphs above the fold, or below?
Thanks - working on improving this.

- Brian

The graphs below the fold are the major problem.  First, the Y axis is inconsistent.  On my Sales graph, the first mark goes from 0 to 1 (one sale), the second from 1 to 3 (two sales), and the third from 3 to 5 (two sales).  Second, the points don't match the Y axis.  The first, third, fourth, fifth and seventh points represent one sale each, but are at the .5 sale mark on the axis.  Similarly, the sixth point (five sales) is somewhere below the line, say around 4.5 on the Y axis.  And third, the points don't really make sense relative to the X axis.  My most recent sale occurred on 9/6, but from the graph it looks like it happened on 9/9 or 9/10.  I know that the points are an accumulation of a week's sales, but wouldn't it make more sense to have the points on the vertical lines rather than between them?

Regarding the graph above the fold, I can't tell from my current graph but I remember the bars showing up in the wrong places, with the sales bar for a given week offset a couple of positions from the views bar for that same week.  The location calculation is off.

Big thanks for the detailed feedback on those graphs Disordely! I'm passing this note over to our dev team now.

Veer / Re: Dash for Cash Editing and Payment Update
« on: September 15, 2010, 09:53 »
You're doing a great job so far Veer, my only point of critique would also be the royalties that are pretty confusing.
There seems to be no way to know how much you earned after your last payout and also the invoice Veer sent me gives me 2 numbers which are added up to a total. The 2 numbers show no date range or anything so i dont know where they come from...
A balance that resets after payout to keep track of current royalties would be very welcome...

Agreed. We're working on this now - splitting out lifetime earnings vs accrued unpaid/unprocessed balance.
Appreciate the feedback - thanks Artemis.

Brian, my calculation doesn't match with your payout to me today...

Here is link from another topic (Stats) about my calculation...

http://www.microstockgroup.com/veer-marketplace/stats-11283/msg161549/?topicseen#new

Also, now after payout there is no anything to track tax and balance... We don't  have any measure except total....

Hi Borg -

Just saw that. We'll take a look - if you can, please email to our [email protected] alias and we'll help sort things out.

Is there any way to get a stats breakdown by month, I can only see how to get the breakdown by weeks, which obviously aren't going to coincide with the start and end of the month.
Seems a bit weird, don't most of us look at our earnings by month?

+1 on a request for a breakdown by month, please?

Veer / Re: Stats
« on: September 15, 2010, 09:49 »
I received payout from Veer today,BUT something is wrong...
 >:(

My total royalties from beginning to 31th August is  167,25$ (Dash for Cash included).
From Non US sales is 34,90$ in that period...
So US sales are: 167,25$-34,90$=132,25$

I live in non treaty country so my tax have to be 30% on US sales...
So, 39,68$ is 30% from 132,25$ (US sales + Dash for Cash)
Calculation for payout is: 132,25$-39,68$= 92,57$ (US sales after tax) + 34,90$ (Non US sales)=127,47$

But I received 117,04$ on my Payoneer account...
167,25*0,30=50,18$ then 167,25$-50,18$=117,07$ (30% on whole amount of royalties)

Conclusion!

PROBABLY they calculate tax on whole amount like every sale was US sale... Dash for cash also belongs to US sales...

Hi Borg -

Looks odd. If you haven't already - please email to [email protected] and Ryan can look into your account specifically.

Thanks,
