I have received several payouts from Veer and there is a lag of 3 to 6 days before the money shows up in PayPal.
Ewww, I didn't want to hear that. I was hoping more for 3 to 6 hours.
Hi All - Sending you the payment advice statement is the last step in our payment process before the funds are funneled into your PayPal or Payoneer account. As a few on here have just mentioned - funds are typically received within a few days after the payment advice statement is emailed. Occasionally it can take slightly longer than that due to bank transfer time et al. Hope that helps. Round 1 Dash for Cash payments for those of you whose edits were completed prior to August 26th are on the way. The rest will be posted at the end of the September, with payments sent on Oct. 15th. I don't know what you're doing there, but I had 3 ELs these days, along with some regular sales at large resolution. Keep at it, you're doing good  - I'm at the second payout with these ELs, I'm expecting the first one to be delivered (in a few days perhaps?)

Dang! I was hoping that was going to pop into my account any day now, but I guess I'll just have to wait until the end of the month. Will it get processed with the end of the month payout? It would be nice to recoup a little cash from my quarterly tax payment that just went out.

You're welcome. Yes. We have to process these bonuses with our normal end of the month royalty payment process, so if we finish your pending D4C files in the meantime, the bonus won't show up on the stats page until we process. Remaining user's bonuses will be posted 9/27-9/28, with payments (assuming you're over the $100 mark) pushed to PayPal or Payoneer on 10/15.

Hi All, Weve been absolutely amazed by the response to our Dash for Cash promotion, which ran earlier this summer. We knew that paying a bonus for approved images would be something many contributors would be interested in, but we seriously underestimated the sheer volume of enthusiasm. Tons of great images flooded in huge waves, and weve still got more in the queue. Were glad to see so many earning significant $$ bonuses in the program. Buyers being driven to the site from Veer marketing efforts are seeing a greatly expanded collection of great microstock content. All in all its been a big successs. Huge thanks to all who participated! After the backlog began to explode, and realizing our editors were falling far behind, we began to significantly expand our capacity - hiring and training a large pool of new faces eager to review your content. The good news: with a much bigger editing team in place we are now on track to finish all Dash for Cash editing by the end of September. We know the wait has been extremely long, and are really grateful for your patience. We know that long waits impact your workflows and ability to load more content. Once through the Dash for Cash backlog, we will continue to work hard to return to sustainable editing times as quickly as we can. We expect that editing service times will return to more reasonable levels (~7 days) by early November. Due to the massive influx of content, weve had to adjust the timing as we work to finish editing. As noted on this forum, we recently processed and posted Dash for Cash bonus earnings to some accounts. These are artists (roughly 60% of participants) for which we had already completed editing on all of their Dash for Cash submissions. (You can see the bonus by selecting the table view on your stats page - look for the Dash for Cash logo). Those contributors who still had Dash for Cash submissions pending your bonus earnings will be tallied and posted to your accounts in the next round of royalty processing at the end of September. Now what . is going on there? What's with these 0.0$ sales???
The "$0.00" sales showing up on some contributors stats pages is a bug that we're working on a fix for now. This is an error, and does not represent sale(s) you are not being credited for. We'll post an update here and on the Veer Contributor forums on our site when this is corrected.
The issue with total earnings changing or appearing to drop, is because the current stats page shows a rolling 1 year period, showing earnings from the last 1 year prior to todays date. Now that we are 1+ year into things, this has recently become an issue.
So to be clear: sales aren't actually dropping out of the system and accrued earnings will still be paid, the display and UI on the stats page is the issue. We're working on a revision to this page and presentation of stats to make this clearer and eliminate this problem.
In the meantime - the workaround to see your correct lifetime total: on the bottom half of the stats page, customize the date range to start at the earliest possible date, and you will see all sales since launch. You can switch this to 'table view' for individual sales detail, and can then export these to Excel as needed.

May I suggest a "current earnings" value on the stats page - that is, the cash that was not payed to the contributor yet? Without us having to select values from comboboxes, etc. Of course, all-time earnings is cute to know as well. But I was under the wrong impression that I made it to payout this month and it appeared not to be so.
Last 2 weeks Veer was doing quite well for me, I hope it keeps up.

Glad to hear that you are seeing sales pick up. Marketing has been ramping up over the past few weeks and will continue to increase this fall. After the frustration of the whole vector situation, I had pretty much stopped uploading to Veer, and hadn't had a sale since May 3. I went to check today and had had four sales over the last week, which - though sad - is an improvement. However, I cannot figure out for the life of me how I have received a 1.75 royalty on an EPS file, priced at 20 credits or $30USD...which I had been getting 7.00 royalties on. Even in the unlikely scenario of the biggest credit pack, I'm not seeing how this number was arrived at. There is a second download of the same file listed on the same date, which lists a $5.25 royalty (together they equal the expected 7.00) ... both are listed as standard license.
Can anyone point me in the direction of the credit/royalty calculation chart that can explain this? Admittedly I haven't been paying all that much attention to the latest developments, so I apologize for not being able to locate this on the site now.

ETA: Didn't mean to sound so negative... I am still really hoping for the best with Veer, and I am still very appreciative of the efforts and attention of Brian and all the others who continue to provide updates and seek feedback.
Hi Whatalife - Thanks for reporting that royalty display issue - which was indeed a bug. You are correct the multiple listings did correctly add up to the proper royalty (ex $5.25 + $1.75 = $7). Our developers identified the cause as situations when a customer used credits from multiple credit packs to purchase a single file. This has now been corrected - single sales show up as a single line on your stats page. - Brian

Hi Cathy - I chatted with a colleague in our Marketing department on why this particular customer promotion went to some users and not others: --- Yes, different people were targeted to receive different promotions. That being said, not all the emails have gone out yet, you might still hear from us. I didn't get them either. Probably because of this:
Promotion is only valid in the United States and Canada, excluding Quebec (Territories). Whaaaat??? Excluding Quebec... Mr Oshea, you are better to have a good reason for this.
I'm no legal expert, but I believe this kind of thing has to do with provincial rules in Quebec regarding promotions that involve sweepstakes or giveaways. Those rules are apparently more restrictive than in other jurisdictions, and can cause extra legal fees and challenges that make running such promotions in Quebec much more expensive. As such it's unfortunately quite common to see Quebec excluded from giveaways and sweepstakes of all sorts, big or small. If you do a search for "promotions excluding quebec" you'll see lots of examples.

I just sold one of a dentist's chair. It must has been pure luck because the keyword dentist was not in the keywords. The six images i have now checked since a few days are all missing the essential keywords. Something is really wrong with the keywording! Please do something about it,,,,

Hi hofhoek - Our CV includes quite extensive hierarchical walk-ups and relationships between terms. In this case - "orthodontics" and "orthodontists" are both on your image. So even though the term "dentist" is not on your image, it is still searchable. The CV displays the narrowest, most-specific search term. There is usually tens, if not hundreds, of other terms made searchable by the hierarchy walk-ups and lead-ins built into the CV. This makes keywording easier and much more reliable. You only need to focus on getting the most specific literal and conceptual terms on the image. The CV handles the rest. Easier to walk through this as an example: On this image: http://marketplace.veer.com/images/2072727 - This contains "orthodontists", of which "dentists" is a broader term. The singular "orthodontist" is automatically included. - It also contains "orthdonotics", of which "dentristry" is a broader term. "orthodoncy", "orthodontia", and "orthodontic" are then included as well. Nothing is wrong in this case. The CV doing it's job correctly. This image is searchable under any of the terms above - including "dentist". Hope that helps. I've pointed out the same thing with my keywords and I'm not going to go through all my photos to make sure they pull up the right keywords. I don't have time. The photo I referred to earlier in this tag had the keyword "calcium" "Pill" "Bottle" It does not even come up with a search for calcium bottle. Bryan said that was because the keyword Bottle was in the title, but not the keywords. Well it was in "my" keywords under my dashboard. Sorry to say that "Bottle of Calcium" is a bottle of calcium and not a calcium pill. So from the way I am seeing it...keywords in the title aren't used because if they did it should have pulled it up that way... and for some weird reason the keywords that we uploaded with the picture are in our dashboard keywords, but are not search able. I will be shocked if that picture ever sells when it is one of my best on the other sites and it is of a Bottle of Calcium. I give up
The disconnect and source of confusion is between submitted keywords (what was entered during upload or extracted from IPTC), versus what we call "search terms" - or terms from our CV (controlled vocabulary). The upload interface and the approved tab show the submitted keywords. The image details page displays the search terms The site stores the submitted keywords in the system, but only search terms from our CV are actually, well... searchable. While it causes confusing cases like this, in most instances the mapping process from submitted keywords to search terms really helps to improve search relevancy. We'll take a closer look at clarifying the display on the upload process and approved tab, as well as options to fix existing keyword/search-term issues. - Brian

Check it out - one of our designers created a cool new background especially for us. I read it as a representation of the concept of a "community of images". In a more literal way it could represent a take on editing (hands grabbing images).

I check my keywords now before submitting. It is a similar system to istock, some disambiguation is usually required and they sometimes don't have the more unusual keywords in their system.
Sharpshot is well.... sharp! (bad pun day here) Make sure to check the disambiguation prompts - most of the keyword oddities are a result of our mapping and CV system doing their best to *try* to find a good match for a term with multiple meanings, or a term that may not exist in our CV (like brand names).

Bryan, I have a question and the answer might interest many. So I don't send it by PM but I'd rather post it here.
I have quite a few images rejected just for keywords and they "need work". As they were uploaded and submitted during the Dash for Cash period, will they still count for the program when I correct the keywords and resubmit? Or will the date of the resubmit be taken (obviously out of the program period).
Yes they will count.Original submission date will count. But please ensure "needs work" items are resubmitted in a timely manner (no more than 2 weeks from date of edit).

I have a shot of paint cans on the site. The keywords include cans , paint and a bunch of others. When I search for paint cans, the shot is not in the results. When I search for paint, cans ( comma added ) it shows up. When i search for cans paint it shows up ( with or without the comma). What's up with that? I just want someone searching for paint cans to find it ( and buy it!)

Lots of keyword questions instead of questions about the new site - that's ok!  For general keyword questions try this thread on our group on Veer Ideas: http://ideas.veer.com/group/marketplace/discussions/89For questions on keyword issues specific images - please consider emailing Ryan at [email protected] . Some additional background: your terms are mapped to our CV (controlled-vocabulary) during the ingest process. This can mean there may be fewer search terms that show up on the site - but you are getting the benefit of tons of lead-ins and walkups built into the CV. As far as "paint cans" vs "pain, cans" - it's important to try and get keyphrases like this (or "white background") entered into system as a single term - without comma between the words. We have CV terms for "paint" and "cans" as well as "paint cans". It looks like in this case "paint can" is missing. I'll forward this to our CV/keywording team to see if they have a better explanation.

will you be offering JPEG options for vectors? It has been like a year since you said "yes, it is coming in a future update!"
but still no sign of it...
It's still planned - but we don't have a current ETA. A bit of background on the shift: As you know - creating JPEGs from .EPS vectors is not always a straightforward process - there are many variables that can effect output quality. Earlier this year we ran into challenges creating automated JPEGs in all resolutions that we felt would be trouble-free and look good in the vast majority of cases. We decided against implementing any solution that we felt could lead to variable JPEG quality and possible customer dissatisfaction. Now that we've got the new Veer site up we can take another look at this - much of the background work and development has been completed.

I have an isolated generic bottle of calcium in my port. I just did a search on a "bottle of calcium" in the low price range. It pulled up 324 photo's, but out of those not one of mine was in there. 90% of the search results were a bottle or glass of milk. I'm not real comfortable with their search engine since it didn't even pull it up. I noticed also that there are only 24 per page and it only showed 4 pages which is only 97 images, not 324. Anyone else noticed this or am I doing something wrong?

I did a quick check - looks like that particular image has the term "bottle" in the title, not in the keywords.
Titles are not included in search. Try searching on "calicium pills"or "calcium pill" and you should see your shot.
Let us know if you see any other bugs or search issues.

Ok thanks Brian. Did you check out the other concern I had about the 324 search results but it only showed 4 pages with 96 images? The rest aren't on disk are they? Also is there anyway to go back and edit the keywords?
I'm seeing all 324 - at 100 images per page. Can you double-check the number you are seeing on each page? Currently there is no way to edit keywords post-publish.

We're taking Veer.com down for maintenance beginning at 7pm MST tonight, and continuing through 7pm MST tomorrow, Saturday July 10th.
During the outage all sections of Veer.com will be down - including ideas.veer.com and contributor.veer.com.

Not sure if folks noticed in the Dash for Cash reminder email that went out yesterday - but we've doubled the weekly submission limit for the final 2 weeks of the program. Raised limit is active in your account now.
Go for the 400.
Brian how long do you think it is going to take to get caught up once the the 30th comes. I have 500 pending now plus 200 more to come.
We forecast a continuation of longer than normal backlog delays for some time after the Dash for Cash submission period closes on June 30th. Our editing team will be working hard to get caught up as soon as they can - but we've got TONS of content in the queues (which is great news).
