Okay, they get more money to spend on marketing and advertising. What is that good for? Dreamstime may increase their market share a bit, but that will most likely to decrease our earnings from other sites. This is like moving money from one pocket to another (and loosing some of it during it)

why I cannot sell declined images (If I am an exclusive ) at other sites?
If you are talking about iStock, you cannot sell at other sites because you are an exclusive artist to iStock. Pretty simple.
You can sell the declined images elsewhere, but they cannot be Royalty free (RF), they need to be Rights managed (RM) ("L" or "RP" in Alamy)

I couldn't find out how much a "premium" account costs?

Fotolia is the only agency that constantly makes me angry with their rejections. It just p*sses me off when my images rejected with some irrational reason. Needless to say, many of these rejected images sells well on other sites.
I have not stopped uploading there, they still make me good money. But they would make much more if their reviewers had some real world experience what sells and what not.

* We can use most any ethnicity, but unfortunately was probably can't use African-Americans. (Why not? Did we not just elect Mr.
Only 13% of US citizens are African-Americans, It's very logical to use mostly images of white folks if the image has to appeal to as many people as possible.

Thanks, oboy. I have never been interested what sells on 123rf or don't sell, the sales have been so few. But an EL needs always to be checked out

I also got my first EL (PEL), but I have no idea where to see what image it was. Any ideas?

First batch: Images are too noisy and some of them aren't sharp. There are also logos on shirts etc. And they also said that you need to send different subjects, these are all the same. The second one would be the best one, if there was a ball in the image too (and if the image was sharp)
The second batch: All images are way too noisy, soft, dark & murky and boring. And don't send them flowers, if you do, your flower image should be very, very spectacular.
If these are your best images you have a long way to go. And I'm saying this in a friendly fashion, so don't take it too hard, you just may need to upgrade your camera or lenses and practice more.

These would be much better if they were photographed with a model: 1) putting the device in the ear 2) the device in the ear. Now it's very difficult to see what they are. Especially in the first image. (My first impression was that they were some kind of vibrating sex toys

Dreamstime is very, very weak for me. It's only the first week in august, but the earnings are only a third of what they should be. DT the worst of my big5 (usually second or third best, now they are even after StockXpert. What has happened?

123rf is a "no sales" type of beast.

I can't stand this... DT has been very, very weak for me for last two weeks. Like bottom fell off my sales

I am a full time pro and I really agree with markstout in his first post. I have resolved the same problem by NOT shooting people and NOT going to locations. If I did, it would be for RM images. I only tinker with stuff in my studio and/or around the house, or submit "holiday snaps".

I can tell you for sure that July is THE summer vacation month in Finland. Image sales in Finland are most likely to be almost zero, and most likely also the Rodeo guys are having their vacation then. Believe me, almost everything is "dead" (business-wise) in Finland during July.

Is there no way of preventing my real name showing up on the image pages? I only sell microstock images on sites that allow me to be anonymous (to keep my microstock stuff separate from my other photography). This is a really big deal for me, I may need to close my VeerMP account if I can't hide my name

I wouldn't compare stock to art photography, they are just two totally different markets.

In current agencies the thumbnails have a maximum width and height. That is favoring the square format (it gets the biggest thumbnails). To crop a normal DSLR aspect ratio to a square sounds plain stupid, even if they say it may result in more sales. In my agency, the thumbnails would be generated to be the same size, ie. to have the same amount of pixels. (this will only work for images between DSLR aspect ratio and square, not panoramas - even if I would sure like panoramas to look bigger.)

A small "woo yay" for Veer. I just got my first payment and it was half of SX earnings, and about the same as Crestock, Bigstock or 123rf. And it was about the same amount as whole year at snapvillage... And they haven't even started marketing the marketplace properly.
I haven't yet any info if my images get accepted, I just had my snapvillage portfolio moved over there.

So, how long have you been waiting?
I sure hope they don't have problems with payments...

Whoops! What do I know? I did not know that we had two (count 'em) horizons. I have used levels on tripods for over fifty years with every kind of camera from 11x14 view cameras to pin hole. Never been a problem yet!
What I meant was that it's not always the natural horizon that has to be straight. Let's say you have a still life on an old crooked table, and you want the table to look straight in the photo. Or let's say you are shooting a painting that is on the floor leaning against the wall.

Easier way: Use a tripod with a level.
It's not as precise as shooting tethered and using a grid on the preview. And it's not always when the "horizon" is parallel to the natural horizon (that makes the level un-usable)

Now I remember: one thing that is easier to do tethered is to get straight lines straight, to get a straight "horizon". It's always better to shoot everything straight in camera instead of rotating the image in Photoshop.
