You may check the german agency Okapia:

(Don't be scared by the website, they are *really* good!)

I received my ITIN in december, and while it is certainly some bureaucratic work, it was not so terribly difficult, actually. I am glad I did it, no more worries now when another site requires it.

Perhaps the proposition will be surprising at first glance, perhaps part of that proposition will be a different offering starting with the letter V... who knows?

Hm... That almost sounds as if they will build a new website for vectors?

Well, over a month since I last got my initial rejection. I have had an email from SS since then but how on earth can I read it when it's IN GERMAN !!! Unbelievable.

Post it here. We can translate it for you.

Oh, that's only our beloved Sunnymars - don't worry, she is well known around here for her good manners.  :P

Pixmac / Re: Pixmac no longer a partner?
« on: January 17, 2011, 12:54 »
But this announcement makes me wonder, do they really have over 11.000.000 images as state on their frontpage?

A search without search terms returns slightly over 5.000.000 results.

Pixmac / Pixmac no longer a partner?
« on: January 17, 2011, 11:06 »
I just received this email:

Quote
Recently you asked us why you have your images with Pixmac.com. We had contracts with Dreamstime and Fotolia, but those contracts are no longer in operation. However, if you would like to to profit from Pixmac sales anyway, then now is the best time to upload your portfolio to Pixmac!

We guarantee a fast review of your images and if you are uploading the same portfolio as you have at Fotolia or Dreamstime (and let us know), this will make the approval process even faster. Premium support will be included we promise.

Good luck with your images!

It seems that Fotolia and Dreamstime cancelled their agreements with Pixmac. Anyone got the same email?

Some random searches I made suggest to me that photos.com has a subset of the images on Thinkstock.

I am a non-ex. I leaped the limit for 19% on 27th of Dec... huh, that was close!
I am losing 1% which is a 5% cut. Since new uploads are not selling, IS has fallen back to the last position in my uploading queue. It means I do not upload there too many new images anymore. They do not care, I do not care.... status quo.

Love to see your portfolio.

It is not so difficult to find... ;)

« on: December 30, 2010, 08:57 »
When i checked the iS forums this morning there was a thread made by a contributor (whiteway) who also had 'fraudulent transactions'. He posted that when he googled his name  today he got A LOT more hits than usual, all leading to what google calls 'attack sites' (if i recall the post correct).
Wanted to see the replies but there's no sign of the thread anymore... Ho ho ho indeed.

The thread is http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=287042&page=1

There's an interview with Masterfiles President by Lee Torrens here:
http://www.microstockdiaries.com/steve-pigeon-on-the-crestock-acquisition.html

At [2'57"] he says they are investing significant amount of money into marketing. This could be good news, but it's useless imo if they are not addressing the real issues with Crestock: low $.25 subs and weird rejections. No mention in the interview unfortunately. As a submitter, I don't want more buyers to go there as long as they are paying one of the lowest rates in microstock.

Agreed!

Do we cheat'em and how.
Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe.

Jokes just aren't funny when you have to explain them.   :(

Ooooohhhhhh.... That took a while... But if your natural language is not English these things are hard to understand.

The real problem with your own website is how to drive traffic to it. Not as easy as some might think.
Operating independently, that's true. But following from Ron's comment in the interview, suppose a search engine giant like Google served up the images and collected the cash and paid us royalties. People go to search engines to find things.

Exactly. Google or Amazon, both of them would have the means to get sufficient traffic.

just saying, I don't think it's as easy as calling it unfair.

The unfair part is IMHO that they didn't show the images which are allegedly infringing. That makes it impossible to defend yourself.

You are a respected man around here and I believe you when you say you didn't infringe. I hope it was only a misunderstanding and everything will be fine soon. Good luck!

You can also disable your portfolio for sale. From your contributor's site, go to 'my account' and opt out of all available options. This effectively prevents your approved images from being sold.

They already have 7273 images online. This could very well become one of the big ones.  ;D
