New Sites - General / Re: Toon Vectors

On the subject of watermarks, I have a new design for these which is present on the most recently published images.  Before going through and replacing all of them, I am still playing around with something for the 140px size, although I am leaning heavily towards leaving thumbnails at that size without watermarks or just adding a bottom bar which is cropped out on the site display but can be seen if you drag or save the thumbnail image.

I would suggest to have a watermark on the 140px size as well, because those images are still quite clean and crisp for many purposes.

I haven't looked at the site itself -

You should - really  :D

I prefer the first. Somehow those large eyes look better.

Veer / Re: Veer portfolio on Alamy deleted
« on: June 05, 2012, 07:53 »
I've checked and at this moment my Veer portfolio on Alamy has been deleted.

Thanks Brian, but I'll keep a close eye on this issue since as someone living from the stock income I cannot trade +30% of my income for 2% of it.

There is a technical issue going on at Alamy where recent uploaded images are not showing up in searches...I had a batch of 146 images that went live on Friday that are missing from the search but are still listed in Manage Images.  May or may not be related to you not seeing things in your search.

Unfortunately you are right. All my images are on Alamy again.

True  :'( It was only a bug. Sigh.  >:(

My images are gone as well. Very good.

If you try your full name in double quotes on PocketStock, do you find anything that way? There's no link to an artist's portfolio from one image, so after I found one of mine through I search I tried the double quoted name, and that worked - for me anyway.

Yes, that works for me, too.

I think Veer has got a lot to explain by now.

Veer is obviously moving over more and more images to Alamy - I can see more of them in my portfolio than a few days before.

So is there anything being done to give us an opt-out option?

They completely missed all illustrators. Not very well thought out.

Working here (Germany) (but no sales....)

86
Well, I will enjoy my sales until years end, and then decide what to do. If 123rf continues to be the low earner it is currently for me, I might drop out.

87
I did not receive it I don't even have a spam folder.

I had about 350 sales this year with a portfolio of 1090 images (all illustrations). About $800 so far - not too bad.

I really like the site and what you are doing (I am an illustrator myself) and I might even join the site, but at the moment I am very afraid that this 'opinion being formed in Calgary' will be detrimental to your success  :'(

Curious to see how things will evolve...

It seems any time someone from the outside that isn't part of the "cool crowd" gets ripped up down left and right.  It's a very hostile environment and frankly it is more unpleasant and unwelcoming than anything as is.

Um - somehow I must be on a different forum than you.

And I am a person who normally prefers harmony.

I got $4.80 for a single download yesterday. Before I got $5.70 twice. Perhaps they lowered the price for singles?

Yes, absolutely! It could also be an identity that is private but confirmed by Leaf.
I wouldn't have a problem with that.

I wouldn't have a problem with that, either.

But I am a member on another forum where the owner asks for the true identity and keeps it private. And believe me, the tone on that forum is not more civilized than here.  ::)

what is it? I wanna join :)

You need to understand german  ;)

But, we expect to see our total royalty payout increase by more than 30% next year, from $1.7-million per week to well over $2-million per week. Make no mistake, the total amount of money iStock contributors are making is going up.

Based on the category 'vectors' the number is approx. 2,167,500.

Veer / Re: Veer Subscription Royalties Update

I applaud Veer's decision to reconsider their plans - that's good.

But I'll stay opted-out. I am not convinced that subs will do me any good.

I just wished we had an unlimited option to opt-out and -in, not just until 21 October.

If they were accepted, it is a computer glitch. They normally don't change their mind after a couple of days.

Interesting to see that in the poll results Fotolia is now officially middle tier - been overtaken by 123RF.

Question: can I still 'back opt-in' after the 21st October? (I am currently opted out.)
