General Stock Discussion / Keywords problem ...
« on: January 22, 2007, 17:07 »

Well I recently started to use keyword helper on CanStockPhoto and I find it more then useful.

The problem is that  I would like to sort the keywords by alphabetical order somehow without doing it manually word by word ,but I don't know how to do that.

Thanks

Cameras / Lenses / Buying photo equipment in USA - help needed
« on: December 18, 2006, 12:35 »

I have a "friend of a friend" somewhere in USA write now and he is willing to buy me Canon 24-70 f2.8 L lens and its at least 2 times cheaper than here in Croatia.

But the problem is that he doesn't know where to buy it and like i understood I will have to find the way and the place where he will buy it , cause he doesnt want to bother with that.

I don't know even where is he , I just have the zip code : 48864 and I know is somewhere near Chicago.
He is flying for Croatia  10 days from now.
So I don't have much time , I have to find a dealer in that area , but I  cant.

I found a good deal at BH photo video , so if he orders from there will 10 days be enough for shipment  of the lens to him, how much will he be charged ....etc ?

If anyone has any suggestions  or know how to find a dealer or anything please help cause I don't have any experience with things like that , and who knows when will I have another chance to buy that lens that cheap.

Thanks

Off Topic / Need a advice.... please
« on: October 08, 2006, 16:04 »

Ok , the thing is i bought Canon 350D this summer and i had a "little" accident with salt water on the beach. The camera was  a week old. I sent it to Canon service next day , they have open it  12 days after they receive it , ( i was told that sometimes things could be saved from salt water corrosion if they were cleaned fast but ......

They contacted me 12 days after  and they told me that electronic is dead , that i need to change it completely and gave me the price of about 260 $ and i will have my camera few days after , i said OK.

Days were passing so i called them , they told me thet now the price for repairing my camera is about 450 $ and that ill have my camera for 3 weeks and said that i don't call them again that they will contact me , OK I told them ill go for that.

Than a month passed so I contacted them again. Than they told me that my camera burned new electronic and now they want 625$ for repairing my 350D.  OK i went for that again but i think i made a mistake.

They told me that after the camera is repaired they gave no warranty if something fails again , so apparently the can give me my camera and it fails next day and i payed almost 2 cameras in few month and i have nothing ?

Its almost 3 months now since they received my camera , no calls , again nothing .

What would you do in my place?  I'm thinking of quiting the neverending process ading a difference from 625 $ they want for repairing my camera and buying new 400D , at least i will have a warranty , and try to sell my broken 350D for parts , or maybe I could try to take my Camera to some other service outside my country cause that one is only one here.

Is this Canon support usual or is it just here ?

Thanks

Cameras / Lenses / DSLR question ...
« on: June 27, 2006, 07:45 »

Hi

Im still on a compact camera , but i plain to buy a DSLR one in near future  ( 350 D  most probably) . I was just wondering , what does lack of live preview on dslr cameras mean. Is it a matter of time latency , or you see only settings parameters on your LCD and not the object that you are taking photo of , or you cant focus only by looking at LCD ...

The simple question would be : What do you see on your dslr lcd monitor when you are photographing ?

Sorry if the question is stupid , but I never had a dslr camera in my hands , and i culdnt find an answer on the net.

Thanks in advance.
