Adobe Stock / Re: Do we need a deactivation day on fotolia?
« on: July 25, 2013, 03:03 »
There is no effect of deactivation, we saw that before!

Only thing what you can is to try to redirect customers to better deal for you, Symbiostock (if you have), or to other still friendly agencies...
If you announce that you stopped to send new images on iStock or Fotolia for example, on every place where you can (social networks, etc.), every day... That is 365 times per year... Which can be significant impact on their greed...

It's a joke; not them.  Us.  We'll continue to argue amongst ourselves while the agencies/stores/markets laugh at us.

So, every answer to greedy agencies has to be on the personal level...

??? Sorry,  I don't understand?
I think I understand.  Just because other people carry on supporting greedy sites doesn't mean we all have to.  I'm pleased I removed all my best images from istock.  I don't really care what other people did, it was the right thing for me to do.

I'll wait and see what happens with FT, not going to make a quick decision but I've lost all motivation to upload new images.
Exactly that! Thanks Sharpshot!

I don't want to delete any existing file on greedy agencies, that is my effort in past and it still will give me some money...
So, maybe it was weak investment at the end, but I don't have to work any more on that part of portfolio, it is passive part now.. There is no more wasted time, those images are already on the market!
So, why to delete those images (especially low-selling images), they still bringing me some money and deleting of them won't be even noticed from iStock point of view (0,000000000000000000001%).
But key for me is in promotion and new images...
My new images mean new investment of effort, money or time in future, so related with them I don't want bad deal any more!
I stopped upload on iStock, probably Fotolia is the next!

If in several months won't be better, I give up, permanently!
I am finish with uploading of anything on every other new agency too! Especially like Zazzle...

iStock, Zazzle, etc. What, or which greedy agency is next?

I am sick of spending my time and effort if that can be destroyed in a single day...

Conclusion is here: THAT IS THEIR BUSINESS AND WE ARE WORKING FOR THEM! BUT WE ARE NOT PARTNERS! THEIR PARTNER IS GREED!

Last month I earned almost 200$, but this month zero sales till now!

New site? Or something else?

Your experience?

« on: July 21, 2013, 09:19 »
sorry dingles but you still haven't even made 500$ at SS and you talking about IS performance? believe it is quite soon to make predictions no?

That is problem today with new generations, they want to be "in game" now or never...
World crisis is the result...

185
It's hard sometimes for me even to upload all my content on new agency, for free!
That is reason why I don't have my portfolio on many low earners...
So, in short, too expensive, too experimental, too complicated for someone who don't know anything about making website, to much effort for small money....

186
I am not an expert for web, codes etc. Maybe it's not to hard, but I don't have much time to learn...
So I am waiting complete optimization and excellent tutorial which can explain literally everything, step by step...
It's too experimental for me, because I have no will to learn about web....

There must have been a search engine change then.  My sales are noticeably slow at SS this month.  I was assuming it was summer slump, but if others are having a good month then it's more likely a search change.

Same here!

They are testing...

I completely agree.  The "accidental" rate chart is way too specific and detailed to have just been a "bug".  Let's assume it's a preview of coming attractions...  :P

Thanks Lisa!

Yes, as several  new models of Apple's iPhones, "accidentally" lost,  few months before the launch on the market, in some disco club...

I do not know why it is necessary to put information about "Camera model and Software used"?
If image has a quality to be approved, why customer need to know that sufficient data!? He is not expert for that, if he is a buyer....

And that is NOT an optional information, site demands that information even it isn't marked with "*"....

Please, could someone tell me what is better on Symbiostock than on Photoshelter, Smugmug etc.?
There is no big difference in earnings between 100% and 85% (if we sell also on stock agencies)...
Please, tell me where is the difference between this direct selling options...?

194
Please Amanda, could you put numbers on videos for me and other dummies...
I don't know what is first, second and third video (I am seeing three for now) in "step by step" procedure!
Anyway, thank you a lot for this....

Off Topic / Re: Capitalism is the crisis
« on: July 05, 2013, 07:47 »
Capitalism has not ideology, that is only free market based on demand and supply!
So criminal is something other, sometimes unrecognizable, especially on free market ...

We can talk about criminal of high position but not about crisis in capitalism...
Capitalism gives opportunity for robbery, but as itself it is not generator of crisis.

Balkan / EX Yugoslavia / Re: Hrvatska u EU! US Tax Treaty?
« on: July 04, 2013, 03:13 »

Tko uoči neku vijest, neka odmah objavi ovdje! Nema smisla da nas gule.... Odmah popunjavati novi W8-BEN...

« on: July 03, 2013, 11:32 »
Evo HR u EU! Koliko vidim sve drave EU imaju tax treaty sa SAD! Zna li netko kad Hrvatska ulazi u tu kategoriju odnosno kad će nas prestati "guliti" za 30% US agencije?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Changes to Main Collection pricing
« on: July 01, 2013, 16:20 »
Borg, I hope you're not suggesting that I gave Luis a -1 rating because I can assure you I did not. My grandmother also used to say "if you can't say something good about somebody, don't say anything at all".

No, that is not my intention, for sure... Sorry if it is looks like...  We are old friends here, me and Louis...
This is some kind of internal joke or usual support for similar ideas...
I comment only thoughts here, never people, if they are not pointing their finger in my direction...
Regards!

You can trace the root of this issue back to the introduction of the RC system in September 2010.
That's when I stopped uploading to iStock. I've since noticed my PP sales have been much better than iStock sales so I've started uploading again to take advantage of the relaxed upload limits and get some more files into the PP. However, that doesn't mean I have any confidence in them or trust their credibility.
sorry but is that dumbest thing I have read for a while, you are uploading thinking of PP? thank god you don't upload much...

Louis, you are completely right!

Story about PP and RC in this moment is totally idiotic... iStock took me 60% or more in a one day from already miserable piece, so what I have to do?
Work more to reach their stupid RC and be happy from change from 16% to 17%... F.... of!

iStock want customers, so our obligation is to redirect customers to better deals for us! That hurts them, not removing our portfolios!

Someone gave you -1, so I feel obligation to fix it with my voice....  ;)

P.S.

People posting here some sayings of their grandmothers and parents...
So here is mine, I think completely usable for iStock crew...

My grandmother says: "You can do what you like, but not as long as you want..."

P.S./P.S.

Where is Lisafx?
She attacked me few days ago that I was not doing enough in last campaign against  IS... With no apologies even with my explanations after ...
So, I feel obligation to be sarcastic once more
Lisa, one advice, please remove 11% of your portfolio from IS, they will probably feel pain after... :-[
