We already had a thread about the same subject:

« on: December 13, 2009, 03:28 »
You got 5 approved and that's great! I would strongly suggest posting future application pictures on the SS forum first for some feedback. Once you get some positive feedback there, you will be more confident that the application will be approved. A month is not that long so you better start going through your portfolio :) Good luck!

IS allows for very few conceptual keywords. You will need to think twice before including any keyword that don't directly describe what is on the photo. I would advise you to play safe and rather not include a keyword that might be questionable in any way.

Here is the link from their website:

Hope this helps.

It's great to see they are back and more than usual for me. I even had the same picture sold twice OD on the same day :)

I also got a report from them for the last quarter, 19.42 euros. :) Nice to see that the third party sales are working for them.

Just wanted to give an update...goldenangel, you will be particularly happy, as you and a couple of others tried very hard to convert me!
Cathy, I'm glad you like it so far! I really think the IM7 matter was pure coincidence. Please let us know if you consider yourself converted :)

Adobe Stock / Re: FT rank
« on: November 09, 2009, 15:25 »
I just started with stock couple of months ago. FT has been the best site for me. With 22 files I have 14 downloads:

Overall rank 19444
7 days rank 4439

portfolio 22
Overall rank     18050
7 days rank    5840

Portfolio 62

Not progressing much :D

Overall rank     15050
7 days rank    8280

Portfolio 105

The same comment still applies - not progressing much :)
~ 6 months later:
Overall rank     10950
7 days rank    3190
Online Files: 174

Photo Critique / Re: Critique needed for iStock application
« on: November 08, 2009, 02:03 »
Congratulations! Those are great pictures!

About SS, it's very good to show your photos in the critique section of their forum. Unlike IS, you can post in their forum before your application is accepted....

Do uploads to other sites work for you?

Interesting. I have a ticket in to IS support.
I would recommend getting a fellow photographer post those image for you in their forum.

Can foreigners apply for the account? I am wondering if I should apply for a US$ account one day if i go to US and then transfer the money into that account and use that account rather than convert to my currency since the exchange rate is so bad.
Yes, visitors to the US can open a checking account in a US bank. Many US banks do that, primarily to cater to undocumented immigrants to the country. One doesn't need a social security number to open an account.

Adobe Stock / Re: FT extended licenses
« on: October 23, 2009, 15:39 »
Do you really mean we have to beg FL to get the right commission, and it's not automatic, as it should be? Oh my!
I wouldn't say you have to beg, but you have to ask, because you set the price up to your limit. They are very fast about this change, or at least were every time I asked them for a change.
I just emailed them this week and they changed the prices for me the next day. Still, there should be a way of changing the prices for all images at once.

Cutcaster / Re: anyone out there selling?
« on: October 23, 2009, 15:37 »
Congratulations guys! :) Those are encouraging news from Cutcaster. I also had my second sale there the other day, let's hope some buyers are there to stay.

43
My own images that I sell on microstock sites. I just didn't know if the microstock companies frowned upon us selling our images through other merchandise-type websites.

I guess as long as license is non-exclusive you can sell image wherever you want.
I believe that even IS exclusives can do it with their images on Zazzle and cafepress for example.

Veer / Re: Veer, the new Crestock?
« on: October 19, 2009, 17:30 »
I just saw I had an EL on Veer. I earned $20.60 :)
Congratulations! Wish you many more in future! This is another proof that Veer is slowly getting there in terms of sales and it is as least better than a few sites who have been around much longer.

Veer / Re: Veer, the new Crestock?
« on: October 19, 2009, 14:22 »
I made more on Veer so far than I did on Crestock in more than a year. So, I don't think Veer is similar to Crestock. Is any site similar to Crestock?? :)

46
Yes, you can definitely do that. Quite a few of us have already used their photos in those designs and products for sale.

47
Just when I said no sales, I got my first. $7.20 is certainly a nice commission to get. :)

I see the same about the views, gbcimages, I think that's because people browse newly uploaded images.

48
I have read reviews about ScanCafe aournd and they all seem very positive. The only downside is that it takes a long time to process an order (up to 3 months). I also found a 20% discount code. Just enter FOCUS during checkout.

49
No sales so far, 16,000+ views with 380 images online.

50
Thanks for the recommendation, Steve. I've been looking to scan my slides as well and I really like what ScanCafe offers. I doubt I wold be using scans of my slides for stock, but then, who knows, if the quality is good enough, I could do that as well.
