I like Featurpics process. You can ftp upload an eps and a jpg with the same name. The image info is read off the jpg and both files are made available as sales options. To me zipping files, especially the jpg and eps together, is one of the biggest pains in vector uploading. Zipping a hundred vector sets before you can upload them is time consuming and frustrating.

Microstock Services / Re: Prostockmaster WOW!

I had that problem when it did the update and went over to the Prostockmaster blog. It said to redownload the software if you had that issue. I redownloaded and stats and agencies are back.

Here's the blog link: http://blog.prostockmaster.com/

Hope it helps you too.

I added a link to my Dreamstime gallery. Whiz, thank you for a chance to post links to our work!

I'm at StockXpert so my files are already at photos.com. Under the current model I would make less on the same images if iStock sold them there. This feels like a decision that most heavily affect exclusives. Photos.com already has micro images on it.

At iStock I have 34 files vs hundreds for an exclusive. At Photos.com I have 500 established files with non-iStock keywording. Exclusives are going into a market where they have less advantages and a lot of competition. StockXpert has 2,615,445 images already online there.

Maybe you could do a screenshot of your source material. After that email support with a link to the screenshot on your website. It's a roundabout way, but it would keep you from having to put source files into the vector zip.

Some sites that sell products with your images on them:
Zazzle.com
Cafepress.com
Redbubble.com
Imagekind.com
image-source.co.uk

Illustration sites:
Imagezoo.com
Alamy.com
stockillustrationsource.com

These are some bookmarks I have. I can't tell you about sales potential, but these are some sites I've been looking into.

Just wanted to bump this up in case others want to reply.

Brian - Could you tell us what the current pricing model is shaping up to be?

General Stock Discussion / Re: Non-traditional Image Buyers
« on: April 21, 2009, 19:13 »
It would be interesting to find out if 'personal use' buyers are really inclined to buy totally digital files. There are sites like Zazzle, Cafepress, ImageKind, and Red Bubble that reach this audience through product sales. They don't focus on large business clients. A personal use buyer could get framed or printed versions of any image they like without stock license RM/RF agreements.

There are some stock sites with hybrid features. IstockPhoto offers an option to buy prints, other sites partner with companies that market more directly to personal use clients.

Veer / Re: Preference for how vectors are priced?

Hi Brian,

I'd like to add the idea of offering the vectors and their jpg versions. Jpg versions of an image could be priced the same as the photos currently up at marketplace xs, s, m, l, xl, xxl. The vector version costing a bit more than the xxl jpg. I think this would give buyers a wide range of options depending on what they need the image for.

New Sites - General / Re: Vectornexus.com

I got an invite and registered my username today. I haven't uploaded yet. Keep in mind, anyone who's joining, that VectorNexus has a 180 days online before deletion policy on all images. It's a good idea not to be planning exclusivity anywhere if you decide to try out the site.

I was wondering what others thought of an idea being proposed at Stockxpert.

I'd like to see the size of sub images reduced, but I'm not sure about the change to opt-in. I know some folks here are currently opted out of the subscriptions plan. Do you think it would be a good trade off?

Congratulations. Welcome on board!

Mine was 4.7% of earnings. That's the largest percent for OD sales I've had so far.

Try uploading each file vector and jpg without zipping any of the files. Also make sure that your jpg files are large enough. I think 600 x 600 is easily enough. Good luck with your submission!

When the full version rolls out the ability to see total dollars made per individual image would be a good stat. I agree with Freedom on keyword editing.

Vectorstock will let you send them a batch of 100+ images, if you contact support from the Faq section. You can send them the files and they'll upload them for you.

Take advantage of your student discount. I know $200 looks like a lot right this moment, but it will be a huge discount for when you graduate. Check all the educational software sites for the best price, sometimes they have an additional sale going.  Illustrator is good software.  You may still be able to get the CS3 version and get a deeper discount.

Thank you both. I just downloaded DeepMeta and am having a look around. I know I can't upload vectors directly through it, but I do like the charting features. Hopefully I can use several other features too.

95
Thank you for the advice! With the 15 image upload limit, I think I'll make up a list of my favorites so I'll have a weekly upload plan. Then I can concentrate on making sure they meet up with standards.

Hi everyone,

I officially tested into the iStockPhoto vector collection a few months ago and am starting to put up images (14 so far). I have a pretty large gallery at Shutterstock and am trying to figure out which images from it I should submit to iStockphoto.

I'd like to submit vectors that have a good chance of passing review. The trick is I don't know what type of images those are yet.

Could I ask you guys to scan my images and offer advice?

I really appreciate any and all suggestions.

Thank you,

StockXpert.com / Re: Revenue plummeting at StockXpert
« on: February 07, 2009, 15:05 »
All my sales so far this month are either Photos.com or Jupiter. I don't know the magic formula yet for sales directly from Stockxpert. If anyone has a copy of said formula, don't hesitate.

123RF / Re: slow reviews
« on: January 31, 2009, 22:47 »
I have several images in queue too. 123RF had a seller area problem on the site a while ago. They fixed the site issue pretty fast.  My guess is they've had to work through the queue that got backed up then.
