General Stock Discussion / Re: November 2009 Earnings

Hey folks, I don't want to spoil the thinks, but besides each site daily visiting number is different that we know can affect the results, but to have a close comparison have you guys the same amount of images on all sites when comparing these graphics?

Maybe the poll posted by leaf would have some range of number of images into the portfolio and separate the results/graphics for each range reached.

Hey Lisa, thanks a lot for the link and the percentage info. Based on the folks percentage.
I'll calculate mine without the exclusivity percentage, how much I would make if I weren't exclusive. :0)
Of course, it is totally relative, and I think if I decide to give up, it would take more than a year to upload files to other sites and keyword all again and start to sell them well to compensate the quit.
If it is just one or two sites that will give good earnings, I'm not sure if would worth the effort and the risk. ;0)

iStock should allow at least the exclusives to use the rejected files into other sites!

Hey Dgilder, nice to meet you and thanks for your reply. Great info.

When you quit your exclusivity and got the other sites as non-exclusive, how long it took for you to make the same amount you used to do at iStock as exclusive? Any idea?

I know a couple of people who have done it but I don't think they participate in this forum.

Would definitely be interesting to get that perspective, though.
Are we in the inverted side of the fence Lisa? Heheheh.
Yup, and I'm not sure if they want to talk about it in the forums too.

Hi folks, I'm wondering if you are not an exclusive member and upload in several sites such as Sutterstock, iStock, Fotolia, Dreamstime, etc. I'd like to hear from you how some stuffs like:

- How are your sells doing in percentage comparing to iStock?
- Have uploaded the same amount of files on all them?
- What is you amount of files average per site?
- What sites are you in and how much of your income in percentage they represent to you?
- What is your favorite you like to use?
- Which one brings you more income?
- etc.

Thanks in advance.

I'd like to know if somebody here has already given up on the iStockphoto Exclusivity, tried another sites, and gave up on all them and have returned to iStock exclusivity again.

Some questions if so,

1) Why did you gave up the exclusivity?
2) How long did you stay out?
3) What microstock sites have you joined?
4) Why did you give up and returned to iStock Exclusivity?

Hi MicrostockGroup team,

Some suggestions:
1) I'd like to suggest to add in the "Message icon:" an icon SOLVED with a green check, sometimes users have doubts, and when they get to solve it, they would edit the message and change this "Message icon:" status to SOLVED. ;0)

2) Would rename the "Lamp" to "Ideas/Suggestions" and the "Question mark" to "Doubts/Help".

Cheers.

Hi folks, I'd like to share this experience with you all that I had with one of my cameras. Maybe one day you can have have the same issue and will be able to fix it by yourself without expending any money. ;0)

So, if your built-in flash from your Digital EOS Canon doesn't pop-up any longer, before you send your camera back to store or to Canon for repair, read it:

Some days ago Ive downloaded and updated the EOS Digital Rebel XTi firmware v1.1.1 for a XTi (400D) and Ive noticed that after I update it, my built-in flash stopped to pop-up. When in the automatic zone the built-in flash doesn't pop-up and in the creative zone (P, Tv, Av, M, A-DEP) when I press the flash button it doesn't pop-up the flash too. When attaching the 580EXII this flash fires ok. I didnt know if it was a huge coincidence and my XTi got broken or it is is some Firmware 1.1.1 issue or there was some settings on my camera I had changed by mistake. didnt get to find how to make it works.

I had tried a lot of stuffs such as:

1) I had contacted Canon support to try to find the previous firmware link or if they would know what was going on, but I got to find the answer first than their support feedback and I didn't get their feedback til now after sending 2 e-mails.
2) I've cleanned the camera settings through the menu and removed the batery and didn't work too.
3) I did the "factory" reset by taking out the both bateries and doing all steps and didn't work too.
4) And a lot of other stuffs...

So, guys it wasn't a Firmware update issue. Here is what the problem was and how to fix it:

If you have been using a speedlite or another flash on the hotshoe lately, there is a little metal strip in the hotshoe (rail) that disables the pop-up built-in flash. So, this little metal strip goes down when you slide in an external flash and disable the built-in flash by breaking an electrical contact. This little metal strip has the occasional tendency to get stucked down after unmounting your speedlite, which results in the behavior you are seeing. Just turn OFF your camera and use a toohpick in the hotshoe and force very gently the metal strip up to make the metal strip goes back to its original position when there is no speedlite mounted on your camera. Compare both sides in the hotshoe (rail). Turn it ON and there you go!

That worked for me. YES! Now the built-in flash is working again! ;0)

I hope that can help somebody else.

Cheers,
Lucato.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Microstockgroup Istock Lightboxes
« on: August 21, 2008, 10:16 »
Hi folks,
I'd like to suggest to have a way to add to Microstockgroup Istock Lightboxes the ID# of the LIGHTBOX instead of the image ID#. So, I would point my existing LB into a Microstockgroup Istock Lightboxes that would read/import all images ID#. Like MOO does when you request a B.Card. I mean, you get to point and import a Lightbox.
Well, just a suggestion.
