General Stock Discussion / Re: When to upload seasonal images?« on: September 25, 2008, 11:00 »
I agree with UncleGene. The best is, your portfolio have images for all seasons. So many contributors shooting fireworks-images on New Years Eve. After Image editing, uploading and pending, their images are online nearly a week ago. Too early for the next year, too late for the past one.
If your portolio has images with all 4 Seasons, you can see, which pics are selling when. Since August my Winter images are selling well. At December/January my Summer pics are running. 178

Dreamstime.com / Re: Upload limit question« on: September 25, 2008, 00:45 »
Yes, you can, but the upload per ftp counts as "1" and if you take the "unfinished image" to pending it also takes as "1". So i do one day Uploads and the next day working on the "unfinished" images.

Video Equipment / Sofware / Technique / Re: Sensor Cleaning« on: September 20, 2008, 03:00 »
Thats right leaf, but if you use several lenses (that i do), you can get dust on the sensor. Since i use the Nikon D2Xs, ive less trouble with sensor dust (Nikon D200 was horrible). As somebody knew, the D2Xs isnt the cheapest camera. I dont want to destroy my sensor, so i decided to bring it to inspection to a Nikon Service Point (or you can sent it). The price is nearly equal as if you use (e.g.) the sensor-dust system. If you bring it to Nikon Service Point, they also cleaning your body and you have the guarantee that all is okay. Normally you have to wait one day.

Hello everybody,
im a little bit successful on IS, have uploaded a lot of my pics on DT (waiting for DLs) and waiting to be accepted on SS (special thanks to some people for helping by DT and SS, they know who i mean ). The question is: Should i also upload to StockXpert, 123RF and BS? Is it worth trying? Comments are very welcome. Have fun and downloads. 186
Newbie Discussion / Re: Image management« on: September 14, 2008, 11:24 »
At the moment, i use an Excel-Sheet and hard drive folders.
If ive enough time, after working, shooting pics, image editing, uploading and last but not least having time for family, i should become acquainted with adobe lightroom. 187
Software - General / Program for removing noise« on: September 14, 2008, 11:18 »
Hi there,
do you use Noise Ninja, NeatImage, Noiseware or PS-PlugIn for removing Noise. Normally i havent much problems with Noise, because I use a Nikon D2Xs with 100ISO, but i have some scanned slides, which needs some processing. Have a nice day 189

Its good, to read/search in every forum where you sell your images. You get hints, can learn something and have fun.

Another two/three questions:
Im a little bit confused with the SS Model Release. "Description of Scene:" and "Photo IDs:". Does this means, i need for every single Shot of my Son a new MR Is there no general form for my minor boy available? At my 1st attempt ive got also those message: Not approved - 7 of 10 must be approved. Does this means, the images had been approved, if the others would be okay? Is it useful to put the 6 images from the 1st attempt in the 2nd attempt or do they pending in the queue? Thanks for any advise. 192

Hi Stan, hi Tyler,
youre so kind, thanks. Only selected 20 images (privat lbx), because i think, nobody searches around my whole IS portfolio (1.108 pics) and my DT portfolio (353 pics). BTW: The DT portfolio is an extract from the IS portfolio. If you like, click on my name and my IS-account. Now you can search through my portfolio or you look at my private lightboxes at the profile page. Again, thank you very much. 195

Newbie Discussion / Re: Earnings« on: September 12, 2008, 08:05 »
My this years average per image is $1,39 only on IS.
You also should think about, that not the whole portfolio gives money. Only 39% of my images brings the income. 197

Hi,
ive cancelled my exlusivity with IS. Uploaded nearly 350 pics on DT (in the last two month). Everybody told me, i should get in SS. My 1st attempt failed (6 from 10!). Please be kind and let me know if you think 10 of these 20 images will be accepted. http://www.istockphoto.com/file_search.php?action=file&lightboxID=4810898 Thanks a lot and have a nice day 198
Dreamstime.com / Re: "Lack of Composition"« on: September 08, 2008, 16:06 »
@MikLav,
i dont think so, because there are these reasons "We have reviewed your file and this is not quite what we're looking for" or/and "This is a very well covered subject in our data base or the subject of your image is too specific.". @melastmohican, correct. Those silly explanation. BTW: If you solve the prob (crop the image) and resubmit it, suddenly there is another reason to refuse the pic. Cant the say (or write) it all at once. 199
Dreamstime.com / Re: Help me understand pending time« on: September 08, 2008, 15:45 »
Thanks Tyler,
i understand it, but you can call it also "false pretences". IS is much better. If an image is in the pending queue it is in the pending queue. Not in and out, in and out. 200
