It helped me to produce images which are better technically, and learn how to avoid pretty mundane (and now obvious) errors. It made me look critically at technical aspects of an image, which I didn't even think about before. So - yes, in that sense it helped.

But did it make me a better photographer ? Define "better photographer" first. If we assume that photography is (still) an art for the large part - then not. But, as with everything else, one needs to be proficient with technical aspects of the job before attempting to excel. Overall, no regrets.

Im totally agreeing with this statement

IS doesn't read my IPTC data edited with Exifer and Irfanview.  They are awere of the problem, but they couldn't care less. I have to copy them from other sites.

On occasions I've had this keyword disappearing without a reason.  I never understood why.

Regards,
Adelaide

Why dont you use i.e. ProStockMaster? You can keyword you pics easily and you can upload your images to several sites with one click!

First november week was pretty good for me, one of the best weeks ever. But not only on iStock. I guess I am one of the few non-exclusives who did not got hit that hard by the best match.

For me too

Hi Steve,

jokes aside. It depends how stocky your images are. Maybe it comes very soon. Im photographing nearly 30 years and im not a real stock-photographer. So my income is okay, but i cant live without my full time job.
So i wish you a lot of DLs and regards
Ralf

BTW: If you got it, you can spend me a beer ;D

Hi Guys,

I'm fairly new to Micro-stock, although not to Photography. I'm hoping to make the move to full-time. I'm currently in a job I don't enjoy and the thought of making a living with Photography, my real passion in life, is very attractive.

Currently I have 100 images with SS and about 50 in other libraries. Thats getting me an average of 4 sales or $1 a day on SS and not much on the others. Realistically, how long and how many images does it take to start thinking about resigning from my job and going full time? I'm just after a rough timescale here.

Hi,
im always friendly, so please forgive me my harsh words, but are you kidding!?
I.e. Youre at IS since 2002 and your portfolio has only 33 images.
You should upload a lot more images on all agencies, wait which ones accepted and wait which ones sales. Than you look at your earnings, deduct your whole equipment and look whats in your bag at the end of the month. After that you can dream on from a full time job ;)

Otherwise, if you want trouble, you decide the place and I the weapons. Okay, my weapons are beer, beer or beer :D. Let me know the place ;)

Computer Hardware / Epson Pro 3800 - DIN A2 Printer
« on: November 04, 2008, 01:05 »
Ive bought me an Epson Pro 3800 printer, which is absolutely amazing (never more printing without the correct ICC-Profiles). So my questions are: Can i make prints for "friends" (like you and me) for money without payment of tax, because im a non-pro? What prizes are realistic for DIN A4, A3, A3+ and A2 prints?
Somebody interested?

@leaf: Can you please correct it to http://www.stockxpert.com/ and username, so that the link works again ??? ;)

Thanks a lot and regards
