ImageVortex.com / Re: First sales
« on: May 17, 2007, 11:29 »
A year and half into it, with not only 17 high quality pictures, after almost 600 views, no sales, so last month, I emailed them to cancel my account, it appeared it's been cancelled, but they did not even send you a confirmation.
I guess it is a waste of time.

General Stock Discussion / Re: March Earnings
« on: April 03, 2007, 14:23 »
March was the best month for me, thanks to a couple of $50 ELS in FT, overall slightly ahead of Oct 06, so finally the earnings have turned the corner in terms of declining earnings in the last 3-4 months.

SS         26.95% a good increase due to recent upload
DT         22.70% good month
IS          17.90% a slower month
FT         17.87% a solid month due to 2 ELS
BigStock         7.10% slower month
StockXpert         7.48% better month

Adobe Stock / Re: Should I raise my EL prices?

Couple of hours later after I posted, I got another ESL for $50.00, not too bad for 3 1/2 month, 3 ESLs ;D

I changed all mine to $50 last Nov, and since then I got two ESL, so not too bad, I did not get any prior that any way, ( 5 months )

General - Top Sites / Re: Feb earnings breakdown
« on: March 01, 2007, 16:13 »
For the first time in 8 months, IS comes ahead of everyone else,

IS                 25%       Down 20% from Jan.
DT                25%       Down 32% from Jan.
SS                20.8%    Down 46% from Jan. one of the worst month, actuall download has been down over 50% from the past average when I upload a lot ( I have not been uploading much recently )
BigStock              8.3%      Down 12% from Jan.
StockXpert              6.9%      Up 37% from Jan

So accross the board I am experiencing a bad month, and SS continues to lose market share, even though I uploaded about 30 recently, with 740 on line, the result is not very encouraging from SS.

StockXpert.com / Re: How is StockXpert doing for you?
« on: February 26, 2007, 00:32 »
My last two batches are all rejected, doesn't sounds like they like to do business.
My same photos are accepted evereywhere, including SS, IS, FT, BigStock, DT, not all rejected by StockXpert, due to " we are not looking for those images" " noise or grain"

Now it's passed Feb 15th, but the pricing is still the same, a couple of images qualifies for Level 2 still got paid on Level 1, so are they cancelling the plan to increase price?

Used to be in the high 70s, now down to 64%, I may have to upload the photos already been accepted by other site before I try DT now:(

Very good month for me in Jan. only 3% less than my best month overall, and 40% more than Dec.

SS, IS and DT count 78% of all sales, and all three of them are neck to neck, thanks to a couple of EL at SS, 1 at DT.
FT had a pretty slow month, come in only at 9%
BigStock had a good month8%, double that of StockXpert 5%

Microstock News / Re: Adobe Lightroom 1.0 to make it's debut
« on: January 30, 2007, 01:01 »
I really like the interface, with my limited experience using LR, I found it's rather slow in handling raw files, when I try to import a folder of 150 raw files ( 10.2mp Nikon D80 file), it hoggs my memory like crazy, the computer is standstill, using 2gb of ram, since I have only 1gb on my laptop, so it's not working for me.
does anyone has any experience with the speed?

I  used to use Nikon Capture, it's rather easy and fast, but now they can not process D80 files, the NX is also a little slow, so the LR could be a good one if it's a little faster and does not using that much memory at a time.

« on: January 29, 2007, 18:12 »
I have been on FT for 6 months, no EL sales for the first 4 month with 10 credit, the last two months I had one EL for $50, so I guess I will stick with the $50.

General Stock Discussion / Re: No sales today
« on: January 26, 2007, 19:23 »
When I just started 6 month ago, I got some high download days, like 50+ with less than 200 images, now with over 696 images, my average week day is like 12 :( >:(

New rejection reason: " unsuitable background"
Just had a series of photos all rejected for unsuitable background.

It's picture with a bottle and some medicine pills against pure white background, so why the unsuitable background?
Do I have to come up with the blue tray the phamacy use in order to get those approved?

I am not loading any more to them, unless I have some positive feedback later. :'(

StockXpert.com / Re: New rejection reasons
« on: January 21, 2007, 13:01 »
StockXpert has become my worst performer, as far as download and rejections, they rejected more than IS, for no apparent reasons, I just got my batch of 17 rejected 15, for " we are not looking at this images" or something else technically, BigStock now accepts everything, which also make me concerns, but of course it's better than rejection.

StockXpert has the worst thumbnails, so little, it's so hard to see, the only good thing is easy to upload and fast approval, but now it's fast rejection.

ImageVortex.com / Re: how is ImageVortex?
« on: January 15, 2007, 13:59 »
A year and a few months later, no sales so far.
I only uploaded 17 images there, has not done anything for 12 months, well I do got hundreds of views so far.

So I don't even bother to go to the site any more, it's a total waste of time.

StockXpert.com / Re: New rejection reasons
« on: January 13, 2007, 01:14 »
I have the same problem with them.
StockXpert has been very slow for me the last two month, so I uploaded two small batches, totalling 23 images, both batches were rejected entirely, which never happened to me before, not even IS, that was really rude and unprofessional, so more than half of them already being approved by SS, FT, DT BigStock, but to them they are simply garbage?

Thanks, Maria.
I thought it was ranked according to dl, but after yesterday's EL result, my 7 day rank jumped from 900 to 251, which means that the money do account for 7 day ranking, not sure about the all time ranking though.

 All time ranking: 715
 7 day ranking: 251 ( due to yesterday's 50 credit sale )
 Total download: 304

Adobe Stock / Re: I'm going Exclusive!
« on: December 07, 2006, 17:05 »
I have been on most sites about 3-4 months, had 5-6 EL sales in SS, 1 in IS, none at FT with only $10 credit, but last month I changed all FT to 50 credit for an EL, and today I got my first EL at FT at 50 credit, a pleasant surprise ( because I was thinking to readjust to the 10-20 credits in order to get some sales )

iStockPhoto.com / Re: iStockphoto Upload Limit
« on: December 04, 2006, 00:35 »
IS almost 45% down from last month, so it's not very stable for me, since I only have 134 images on line with them. $92 in Oct, but $50 in Nov ???

Since they lowered the limit, haven't had a chance to upload anything, maybe when the weather gets a little nicer, I will shoot more.
