Adobe Stock / Re: Video rejected for "lack of relevance"
« on: September 01, 2019, 19:19 »
I just wasn't really visually moved enough to feel like I could do something with it.
Maybe some work on the pizazz of it some in good ways.
I do think combining your text, illustration version with real/"filmed"/video-graphed elements would make for a more interesting story.
Thanks,
Lee

Adobe Stock / Re: Editorial Video in Adobe?
« on: March 06, 2019, 21:13 »
Hi Dennis,
Both editorial pictures and editorial video would be a most welcome addition to what can be uploaded from current and future contributors that can be licensed on Adobe Stock. I have uploaded a lot of well selling editorial pictures but, I can see the potential in editorial footage and will start making editorial video next time I make editorial pictures.
Please open Adobe to accepting editorial pictures as well as editorial footage.
Thanks for your consideration.

Adobe Stock / Re: Editorial Video in Adobe?
« on: March 03, 2019, 20:43 »
Around the time I found out Adobe was buying Fotolia I was sent a question or survey by Adobe. I remember I was asked if I thought Adobe should start accepting Editorial Video. I had never made editorial footage and still haven't but have made and uploaded a lot of editorial pictures to many sites.
If Adobe had asked me if I thought they should start accepting editorial images I would have said YES! but, I wasn't asked that.
Now, seeing this thread, I do think Adobe Stock should start accepting from contributors footage as well as editorial images as soon as possible. I think it would be great because it's a great idea. There are so many editorial newsworthy things that local photographers and makers of moving images that business people are looking to buy/license and it can add quite a bit to the bottom line of Adobe and Contributors as well as contributing to the local news images and stories. Hopefully someone from Adobe Stock will see this opinion and please start asking for and accepting editorial images and footage from existing and future contributors. Thanks Adobe! :~)

Haven't added up the money for 2018 but it seems to be in top 3.
I am concerned about what a fellow stock photographer said about istock giving us almost nothing in a recent deal in this video,

Alamy.com / Re: who uploads my images to Alamy?

I wrote Alamy and found the answer myself. Sorry I don't see an easy way to delete this post.

Alamy.com / who uploads my images to Alamy?
« on: January 02, 2018, 21:31 »
I have been uploading only the best of my best to Alamy. But, tonight I noticed a bunch of my images uploaded to Alamy in my name that I did not personally select and upload. Who could be uploading these images of mine?
They are not listed in the 106 images I have uploaded myself, including a lot of Editorial images which I have never submitted to Alamy myself.
Thanks,
Lee
LATER
Kept searching and it seems that it is PantheMedia who is uploading these image of mine to Alamy.
I just find it so strange that they are not listed in my regular portfolio on Alamy but, seem hidden, somehow under the panthermedia name/umbrella?
My images listed under, Contributor: Panther Media GmbH / Alamy Stock Photo.
My name is listed under, Photographer: "MY NAME" and when I go to that collection of mine, instead of 106 that I have a link to in my "Regular" portfolio images, there are 396 images in Contributor: Panther Media GmbH / Alamy Stock Photo.
I wouldn't mind more sales through Alamy but, it would be nice to know what images of mine have been uploaded to them from panthermedia somehow instead of finding out by accident.
panthermedia most likely did announce the partnership but I must have forgotten.
Sure would be nice to be able to delete this post easier but, it may help some

well, that's helpful. thanks. maybe there is a possibility they are still in business.
Updated March 1, 2017
I just checked http://en.clipdealer.com/ and http://us.clipdealer.com/ and they are both back up and open for business.

My experience with them is they have usually as far as I remember replied to emails.

58
thanks for letting me know.

59
I tried opening up / going to address' us.clipdealer.com and en.clipdealer.com and clipdealer.com various ways and it wouldn't open the site, even tried from different search engines, and instead it downloaded some file each time that I could not open. I have no idea what is going on there. Does anybody? Did they close? One of the check if this site is open said it was not opening for them either.

"I sent them some screenshots about this image being online on several stock sites for almost 2 years, under my name.

They do not believe me, and I don't know what else could I do"

I've never tried it but, I think you could get some kind of statement from one of the first sites you published the image on that includes the date it was initially published to establish first published date. Or, if there is a date 1st published already on the site with your image? I guess I'm assuming now that you've tried the second suggestion already in your screenshots?
Not sure if the waybackmachine at http://archive.org/web/ would be helpful in establishing first general published date. If I remember right that may just index a site once a quarter (3 months) if you could find it.
Have you tried contacting the person using your image to ask them to not use it without the EL license you spoke of? Try looking for their name another way if the site it's on is not being helpful yet. Try to search for your image other ways and you may get better leads of on how to contact them?

I hope this helps. Good luck.

I got this email about spammy titles last night just found this morning. I do not set out to create any spammy titles and am always very careful in how I describe my images. So I wrote asking for clarification. With all these people writing for clarification and specifics of their actual image titles it will probably take weeks to get a response.
I will read their article and go through my images anyway just to be extra careful and safe.

Hi Everybody,
My DPP software wasn't responding so well this morning so I started looking for an update to my old version 3.15.0 of Digital Photo Professional or DPP and found dppm4.4.30 or Digital Photo Professional 4.4.30 that's been available since 03/31/16.
Since I'm in America I found it at
https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support
If you're in another country you would probably need to do a search on it, for example in Europe it would be found after going to https://software.canon-europe.com

I just poked around inside it for a few minutes. OMG it sure is changed a lot, looks a lot different. It's going to take some getting used to. Will try to customize it to make it easier on the eyes. I did notice they had a couple of youtube tutorials of version 4 out in 2015 so I may need to check that out a bit and maybe search for other tutorials too.
I'm definitely saving my older version of DPP just in case I find the new version a bit much to adjust to at times.

What are your thoughts on the newest version of DPP?

I hope this helps. Best of luck to everyone.
 :)

I read the forest service in the United States is updating their regulations for shooting on national forest land and are inviting public comment. What do you all think of this?

I added this question here because there are a lot of references to permits for this sort of thing in this thread. Tyler, if you think this should be its own topic, please feel free to move it and title it accordingly. Thanks.

Here is a link to the topic followed by the site for public comment. The time for public comment ends November 3, 2014.

Off Topic / Re: What is your YouTube account name?
« on: April 09, 2014, 19:16 »
my channel is http://www.youtube.com/user/palmtreeleebythesea
I was also wondering, what do you think of making youtube videos and maybe adding links to the videos, pictures, products or other possible income sources you post?
Right now, I've just done some handheld, personal video of mostly landscape scenes in the area and uploaded footage that I think wouldn't work in stock. But, lately I have become more interested in exploring adding to my income with making various youtube videos based on my interests.
What are your top tips for increasing revenue from posting youtube videos and links?

DepositPhotos / Re: Clashot driving me nuts
« on: January 23, 2014, 19:36 »
I like it as another way to distribute pictures but unsure of its future and sales.
I only could find about 15 of the over 100 editorial photos accepted of mine a long time ago by DepositPhotos on ClashShot. Maybe they are testing the site their selves?

Pond5 / Re: Pond5: What should we improve?
« on: January 22, 2014, 20:58 »
With Pond5 I think some improvements I'd like to see are
the videos also available for purchase in smaller sizes. Maybe this would actually increase overall revenue from sales?
I'd like to see keyword spam and irrelevancies cleaned up and not gotten through so much. Makes for a better shopping experience.
It'd be nice if submitting was even easier. Could templates be expanded to include checking Pictures?
Thanks

General Stock Discussion / Re: Stockbo

Sounds good. Sent in my links to pics and video on shutterstock for your consideration. I seriously hope you will consider accepting video submissions before launch as I think it would benefit us all to be right out there from the start instead of as an after thought.

I'd say maybe about 90 downloads a month based on what I know so far being about 2 years into microstock myself.

Panthermedia.net / Re: High rejection rate
« on: September 24, 2012, 18:07 »
It depends.
Overall I have a 68% acceptance rate at PM.
There are many images I have accepted and selling well at top sites that have been rejected at PM.

Adobe Stock / Re: "Form Error"?
« on: July 21, 2012, 19:40 »
I keep getting form errors after pressing submit in Fotolia recently within the past week on images.
"- Price is too low for licence Extended RF License, min price is 10 credits. Got -1."
Extended is set to default at 50.
I tried starting off not clicking conceptual category and clicking None but that will bring up form error too.
I'd rather add a conceptual category when possible.
It does submit the second time I try whether I choose conceptual category or not.
I wrote Fotolia. Anybody have other ideas how to resolve this?

Well, after I wrote this and posted, I went back to Fotolia and submitted the last 3 pictures without form error occurring. So, hopefully they resolved the issue now.

Newbie Discussion / Do any sharpened photos pass Alamy QC?
« on: July 19, 2012, 20:38 »
Just wondering if any sharpened photos pass Alamy QC especially when you don't check the box that says you have not sharpened?

74
Thanks for your reply too, lisafx.
I appreciate the extra information.

75
Thank you for your reply.
Sorry if it was a silly question.
Just had to be sure because I may be photographing at a location I would need a property release for and I wanted to make sure the owner wouldn't have their information released to the general public.
