I was wondering if buyers ever get copies of model or property releases attached to the image or footage they are buying?
I've only bought pictures from one site about 5 years ago and I did not get copies of the releases as far as I remember.
Do some sites send them to the buyer automatically?
Or, are they all just kept private with the agency that sells the images or footage and only brought out if there is a legal issue?
My main concern as a stock contributor is to keep the model or property name, address, email, phone and etcetera private, known only to the agency that sells the content.
I would think the agencies would keep the personal information private but just wanted to make sure.

As a side note to those concerned about privacy; it's important to keep personal information out of IPTC / File Info / Metadata that's sensitive because some (not sure how many) do include IPTC information with licensed sales of images.

At canstockphoto the group of keywords at the end are automatically added;
stock image, images, royalty free photo, stock photos, stock photograph, stock photographs, picture, pictures, graphic, graphics
They change with each category of photograph, illustration or video.
I've tried to have certain ones removed from my images but Duncan said it wasn't possible.

EDITED 02-25-2012 = Removed all above because it was too complicated. (thanks qwerty (below))

Example of my records=

PICTURE OF FILE
hammock-nature-person-relaxing-J300-5421.jpg
*CS/02122012 #DP/ *YM/ SS/ ... (initials of each site, /=submitted, *=approved, #=rejected)
DP Focus

You can record basic submitted and rejected (without specific reasons) in picworkflow too.

Hope this helps.

As for keeping track of downloaded photos, I haven't explored too much. I did keep track of a few months from all sites and came up with a list of my best sellers. Very interesting information.
Might be neat to go over all your sites once a year and see what you come up with for overall best sellers as simply as you can so it doesn't take too long.
SS also has a darkroom function at http://submit.shutterstock.com/darkroom/gallery.mhtml where you can click on Total Purchases and have it arranged so it shows all top sellers.
Only site I know of that has it like that.

There are probably quicker methods but I'm still sort of new to stock and working out my own methods and what works for me like you will too.
Good luck.

I found it easier to group in one folder all my pictures and submission list for each month.
For example January pictures would be in Folder: "2012-1-Images" having in it all the pictures I took that month and a list of submissions for those pictures for each site for January.
On video it would be under movies, 2012-1-Footage, with it's own list for that month.

I see they are added to picworkflow distribution.
Just wondered if anybody sells through them or what your experience with them is like.

General - Stock Video / Are there partner programs for footage?
« on: February 12, 2012, 08:30 »
I belong to a few footage sites and am wanting to join more and was wondering if any of the footage selling sites have partner programs with other footage video sites for selling each others videos / footage like many do with pictures and images.
In other words, I am aware of this list for partner programs for images, http://www.microstockgroup.com/general-stock-discussion/a-list-of-partner-programs/
I was wondering if there is another list for footage just in case I don't need to join so many footage sites.
Thanks.

Print on Demand Forum / Re: Any experience, sales with artflakes?
« on: February 10, 2012, 09:00 »
Thanks for the feedback on this POD site.
Glad to hear that nic has had sales. It's encouraging. Seems like an okay return.
nic, about how many different images do you have on artflakes? (Not overall products, although if you want to share that too that would be ok).
nic, I like hearing the minimal effort part too, that's good news.
ppdd, I hear you about the some artists are flakes.  ;) Guess it sometimes takes a flaky person to produce art.
I was somewhat concerned about the site name artflakes but I suppose it's meant to be tounge-in-cheek funny and I know humor can sometimes help one remember, so it's good to remember the sites name at least.
I think it's a really nice looking site. Seems friendly.

Print on Demand Forum / Any experience, sales with artflakes?
« on: January 18, 2012, 08:22 »
Just received an invitation to join artflakes.com
Anybody have any experience with them? What are sales like?
I poked around a little and found out they are a print on demand company founded in 2010
based in Berlin focusing on sales of print on demand Art prints, posters, and greeting cards of photography, painting, graphics, illustrations.
Worldwide Alexa rank is 29,013 compared to fineartamerica 5,777, deviantart at 130, zazzle 903, imagekind 21,192, cafepress 1,265, redbubble 4,215.

Some information from their site.
Free to join. Able to set own prices. Earn money each sale. Own storefront. Stats. Keep all copyrights. Language in deutsch | english.  Monthly payout. Quality products. Worldwide shipping. Money back guarantee.

I'm also on fineartamerica which seems similar but haven't had any luck with them yet with a very small portfolio.

With a small portfolio I've had some sales and some referral income.
John,
Thanks for adding the banners. Looks good.
Maybe you should email the contributors that banners are now available or add a note at login or New in red next to Referral Banners link on Cutcaster site so more contributors know about it.

General - Stock Video / Re: Top Video Sites
« on: December 28, 2011, 22:21 »
Can only speculate how good 123RF will be for footage sales but, if I based it on how well they sell pictures then it looks encouraging. Commissions look good too.

123RF began accepting videos / footage in December but they have not started making them available to buyers yet. I've read on this site it may be mid January or so before that starts. http://www.microstockgroup.com/123royaltyfree-com/123rf-video-prices-and-commissions/

Uploading the small amount of videos I have has been flawless and easy so far.
