Adobe Stock / 1099 Form
« on: February 01, 2023, 09:16 »
Is anyone else having trouble downloading their 1099 MISC form for 2022 through the Adobe link (https://236230.invoiceinfo.com/get1099.html)?  I can only bring up last years.  This year's doesn't seem to be available yet and they should all be there by 2/1 every year.

Adobe Stock / 1099
« on: February 01, 2021, 11:22 »
I opted in for electronic 1099s in early January.  It said they would be available after 1/31 but I can't see anyway to obtain them using the link https://236230.invoiceinfo.com/get1099.html.  It just keep opting me in, but I'm not able to view my 1099.  Have anyone been able to retrieve their 1099 electronically?

Anyone tried uploading to Customon.com?  Any sales?

Print on Demand Forum / Red Bubble Technical Support
« on: August 02, 2019, 12:31 »
Does anyone here have any experience with technical support from Red Bubble?  They don't offer phone support, and I've been unable to get a technical issue resolved or responded to for several weeks now.  Their Live Chat doesn't offer support from the "Artist Success Team", and their Facebook and Twitter pages won't respond to Artist questions, so the only avenue is to fill out their submission form.  I've done that 4 times now with no luck.  Each time they say they'll "escalate" the issue, but then I don't hear back.  Until my issue is resolved, I'm unable to upload new artwork to their site.  Very frustrating.  If anyone has had any luck getting them to respond, please send along the feedback.  Thanks.

Print on Demand Forum / Sales have crashed on Spreadshirt
« on: November 16, 2018, 14:46 »
I've been with Spreadshirt for over 5 years now and I've always liked their user interface and their business model.  However, with the arrival of the new algorithm and "improved" search this year, my sales year over year are down 50%.  I've read from their forum moderators that the changes are for the good of everyone, but some people might find decreased traffic to their products.  I guess I am one of those people.  I am wondering what other user's experiences are.  Have some of you seen increased sales at Spreadshirt, or mostly decreased sales like me?  Just curious.

Adobe Stock / Sales on Adobe vs. Fotolia
« on: February 21, 2018, 09:55 »
Is there anyway to see on the Sales page if the sale occurred on Adobe Stock or Fotolia?  I've tried to find detail on both sites and can't seem to find that information.

Shutterstock.com / Any luck downloading tax forms?
« on: January 26, 2018, 10:36 »
Has anyone been able to download their 2017 tax forms from Shutterstock site?  The Tax Center page says that the 2017 tax forms are available for download now, but when I follow the instructions, I'm still unable to download any forms.  Has anyone successfully downloaded theirs?  I have emailed them but have not gotten any answers.

I guess this would be called an ethics question.  I understand that we all polish our images to remove imperfections, correct lighting, etc.  And at times we can actually replace an element of an image, such as replacing a cloudy sky with a sunny one.  But where is the line drawn?

I have recently come across a large portfolio of images from a resort town that I have frequently traveled to.  I prefer not to mention the artist or post a link to the images as this point.  What I have noticed is that the images are clearly not authentic photographs of the area, but are composites.  For example, in one image of a beach with a marina in the background, the marina is the actual marina in this town, but the water and beach have been clearly replaced by a beach from a tropical area, such as the Caribbean.  From my experience in this resort town, I can say with certainty that the beach and water have been replaced in the image with a different resort's water, beach and sand. The water in this particular town is dark green and rather murky.  And the sand is very rocky, not fine at all.

If an image is described as a particular place in the description and keywords, and then half the image is replaced with elements that do not exist in that place, is that image misrepresenting that location?  My first reaction is that the image would be fine if it was submitted as a generic place, using non-specific keywords and did not claim to be a specific geographic location (ex: Keywords beach and ocean, but not Honolulu or Hawaii).

I would be interested in hearing other stock contributor's thoughts.

DepositPhotos / Search Engine Not Working!!
« on: September 22, 2016, 12:09 »
The Search Engine at Deposit Photos was working incorrectly yesterday.  Their Technical Customer Service department confirmed the problem and it seemed to be working correctly today.  HOWEVER.... when I attempt to locate my own images by putting in the accurate keywords, I'm unable to bring up any of my images (over 1,000 in my portfolio).  They are aware of my problem and said they would look into it, but in the meantime I won't see any sales because no buyers will be able to see my images.  You may want to test your own images and see if you are encountering the same problem.

Image Sleuth / Amazon Third Party Infringement Claim
« on: May 12, 2016, 11:58 »
Does anyone have experience with filing an infringement claim with Amazon against one of their third party sellers? I submitted one yesterday and I'm wondering how long the process takes.

NOTE TO ALL SHOP KEEPERS:  My payment for May was cancelled so I called Zazzle and they said that they had sent an email back in February to all shop keepers stating we needed to update our payment settings.  All payemnts to shop keepers would be withheld until this was done.  I did not receive the email, and now I have to wait until next month to get my payment that was due to me today. If you haven't done so, you won't receive any Zazzle payments this month.

Print on Demand Forum / Keyword Spamming on Skreened
« on: April 09, 2015, 09:18 »
Has anyone else run into keyword spamming with their shop on Skreened?  I have a portfolio of Gay Pride designs with them, and I noticed that they weren't coming up much in their search results.  I discovered another artist who uses keyword spamming and his designs come up on the first 38 pages under a "gay pride" search.  You don't even see any other designs or products until page 39.  To make matters worse, all those first 38 pages are all the SAME design (Florida) with a different city overlayed.  So you have 38 pages of just Florida Pride shirts.  Ugh.  I sent them an email and got a "we'll look into it" response.  That was two weeks ago and no change.  Figure I'll give it another week and delete my portfolio.  Very disappointing.

I received several emails today from Zazzle showing that new products had been published and would be available for sale in the marketplace in 24 hours.  These are new products that Zazzle automatically created for me (in this case, it was three new styles of water bottles).  I've had this happen before, but this time I can't find the new products anywhere for sale in the marketplace.   Does anyone have experience with this and can you point out where to find these new products actually for sale on their site?

TheArtofBusinessCards.com / Account Suspension?
« on: February 17, 2015, 09:56 »
I just received an email from ABC stating that unless I upload some new designs they are going to suspend my account.  I don't see any upload requirements in their artist agreement.  Has anyone else received an email like this?

Shutterstock.com / Contacts at Shutterstock?
« on: December 29, 2014, 10:06 »
Does anyone have any contacts at Shutterstock?  Specifically in HR?  I am referring a friend for one of the IT jobs on their site, and he's a terrific candidate for the job.  I'd like to get his resume to the right person if possible.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Just an warning to all Caf Press contributors.  My commission score dropped from 10% to 5% over the weekend for no reason.  I just got off the phone with them and it is a system issue that they are aware of and are currently working on.  So don't panic if you notice your commission score drop for no reason.  It should be correctly shortly.

Print on Demand Forum / Need Cafe Press Followers!
« on: August 27, 2014, 16:31 »
Hi All.  I need some Caf Press followers to keep my commission score at 10%  If anyone would like to follow me, my profile can be found at:  http://www.cafepress.com/profile/46592149  I would be happy to reciprocate for anyone who follows me.  Thanks.

Is anyone else experiencing huge discounts to their product sales?  I sold two T-shirts in the last 10 days, both with a retail price of $17.99.  One sold for $7.86 and one sold for $7.36.  I checked with Caf Press and they confirmed that those were the correct selling prices for those customers "after the discounted price and a customer coupon".  With a cap of 10%. that leaves less than $0.80 per sale for a T-Shirt.  Very disappointing.

Print on Demand Forum / Wordans
« on: June 18, 2014, 07:31 »
Does anyone use Wordans?  I have a shop there but have been unable to access my account online for over a week.  I can only get voice mail when I call, they don't respond on their chat, and they don't return emails.  Are they going out of business?

Print on Demand Forum / Zazzle cancellations
« on: June 05, 2014, 08:22 »
Does anyone have any experience with having one particular customer buying their products and continually getting it cancelled?  I have a customer that has attempted to purchase the same product three times over three weeks and it keeps getting cancelled. I assume it's a bad credit card.  Do you know if they "flag" customers that keep having their payments fail?

Print on Demand Forum / Getting followers on Cafe Press
« on: February 19, 2014, 18:06 »
Does anyone have any tips on obtaining followers on Caf Press to keep up your commission score?  I'm able to meet all the other criteria to get the 10% commission except obtaining a new follower every three months...so I'm stuck at 8%.  None of my friends or family have a Caf Press account.  Anyone have any good tips on this?

Print on Demand Forum / Spreadshirt Meltdown
« on: November 07, 2013, 09:52 »
I've always liked Spreadshirt, but in the last month my sales have plummeted.  And now for the last two days their TShirt designer has been down, so no users have been able to create any new designs for 48 hours.  What a mess.  Anyone else have a different experience?

Adobe Stock / Beware of new default upload settings
« on: November 07, 2013, 09:49 »
Fotolia has changed the default settings when uploading new images.  All images in my last batch were marked as exclusive (which they aren't) and put in their Free section if rejected (which I never do).  This has never happened to me before, so I'm pretty sure you now have to check or uncheck different boxes during upload.  Ugh.

New Sites - General / Anyone currently uploading to Clipcentric?
« on: October 23, 2013, 14:06 »
Is anyone uploading to Clipcentric?  I received an email from them today asking me to become a contributor.  Very different business model...based on the number of seconds an image or video ends up being used in a purchaser's project.  Anyone have any experience with them?

Just received this email from Pocketstock.  Kind of glad I haven't been making any sales there....

Dear Contributor

As you know we have always been reluctant to get into price wars we tried Packages for a while, but felt it wrong to sell images at such low prices, so we got out pretty quickly.

There are so many competitors who are prepared to sell an image for whatever price they can get, to enable them to compete, we feel the market has become too saturated with price competition.

We have, because of this, decided as of today that we will no longer be accepting any new Non-Exclusive content from any supplier. Currently we are making a staggering 91% of our sales through Exclusive content, so it makes logical sense for us to look at ways of expanding this area.

We will continue to represent any Non-Exclusive content we have, but will not be adding to it, because of the cost implications and lack of large-scale sales in this area. We hope you all understand.

As all our contributors distribute through multiple channels, you all have plenty of places for your content, so we are sure this change will not be a big blow to any of you.

We never got into this space to compete on price, but with many others, in our view, selling content at unsustainable prices, selling Non-Exclusive content is not an area we see as our very long-term focus.

Many of our competitors do very well of course we are not blaming them for anything, but can we complete with those that have many more images and sell content cheaper than us? It's very difficult.

Can we compete representing and selling more Exclusive content? We have a better chance, that's for sure.

This new policy will come into immediate effect. Any Non-Exclusive content uploaded from now on will be returned. As said, it will have no effect on the content we already represent.

We wish you all well and thank you for your ongoing support

 reef creative
