@Liorpt "I got the email, I know I qualify, but I cant see how to redeem this wonderful gift.
Also, I have a subscription that ends at December. Will I be able to redeem it then?"

Qualified contributors will receive a redemption code in the next 6-8 weeks.
Per the FAQ regarding your second question "If you have the exact same plan as the one you are awarded (CC Photography plan with 20GB of storage, or CC All Apps plan) and you redeem the code using the same Adobe ID: At the time of redemption, with the same Adobe ID, billing is suspended for 12 months if you have a monthly plan that is billed annually. If you paid for the full year in advance, the year of your CC giveaway plan will start once your prepaid year is over."

@Pokemonmaster "He wanted to say that as a (vector) illustrators, we don't need Ps+Lr subscription and can't get full CC, because it requires 300 video uploads."

-Duly noted

@ForrestBrown "What happens if my Adobe Stock and Creative Cloud accounts are based on different emails and not connected?"

That shouldn't matter. You can redeem the code you receive with any Adobe ID.

@wds: "So if we have not uploaded >=300 assets but meet the $500 sales criterion we still qualify?"

Yes, that's correct. Though you should still have uploaded at least 300 assets. If not...get shooting right away! :)

@Brightontl: "Great stuff Mat!
Keep on rocking!"

Thanks much for that though I can't take the credit. Adobe Stock has a very strong team and ensuring contributors are taken care of is a top priority. It makes me very happy to be able to communicate with you about this promotion for sure!

Thanks everyone for the feedback and questions. Keep them coming, I'll be checking in all day.

Is this for Fotolia contributors also?

Yes, as long as you have synced your account with Adobe Stock. If you haven't done so yet, please visit contributor.stock.adobe.com to sync up and qualify for the giveaway.

-Mat

If I sync now I doubt I'll be in the first 2,000 chosen.
Are there any other benefits to syncing accounts?

Sure, there are plenty of benefits to submitting through Adobe Stock. Top features include the ability to edit keywords on approved content, an unlimited number of assets allowed in drag and drop upload feature, the ability to upload directly through Adobe Bridge and/or Lightroom, auto-keywords and custom portfolios.

to bad, I stopped uploading to fotolia when they launched Dollar club

Dollar Photo Club is long gone. I recommend you start an Adobe Stock Contributor account right away and get your content online asap!

LOL. No love for the Illustrators.

Not true! We definitely love illustrators! I understand you are referring to Adobe Illustrator specifically but it's important to note your vector uploads and earnings from vectors do count towards the CCP giveaway.

I qualify for the over $500 part (not by much though... have made $616 this year), but how do I know if I've qualified for the 'first 2,000' part... any ideas?

If you have already met the criteria as you mentioned then you should be qualified. There are still opportunities for contributors to earn CC.

Nice!

Is there a way to split apart video and photo sales in the insights page?  I'm not seeing a way.

Any rewards for After Effects Templates creators?

Hi Sean,

No way to split the stats between photo and video at this time. I'll be sure to mention that to the development team working on enhancing the existing tool with more advanced features. I'm not aware of any program specific for After Effects template creators at this time.

Thanks,

Mat

I just started a new thread about the Creative Cloud giveaway which includes an FAQ.

Cheers!

Hello everyone!

This morning Adobe announced that in an effort to reduce production costs and take your post-production work to the next level, active Adobe Stock Contributors will be receiving a free year of the Creative Cloud Photography plan which includes Photoshop CC, Lightroom CC and other Adobe apps.

To qualify you need to one of the first 20,000 contributors to have 300 files approved or have $500 in earnings since January 1, 2018 with a 50% or higher approval ratio to receive a CCP member.

The first 2,000 video contributors to have 300 videos approved or with $500 in earnings on video sales with a 50% or higher approval ratio will receive a one year full Creative Cloud membership.

If you have already qualified then no action is needed on your part. In the next 6-8 weeks you will receive a code via email. If you haven't met the criteria yet...get out and start shooting and submitting!

An faq has been created to answer most questions. If you have any other questions please let me know.

Kind regards,

Mat Hayward

So I went to check the statistics, and what I've noticed is, that my all-time total downloads, showing at Adobe site are different from those at Fotolia site. Adobe site is showing me 1 download more than Fotolia site.

Thanks again for bringing this to my attention. I have confirmed there is a time discrepancy with the different stats. The development team is aware and we expect it to be synced up in the future.

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia and Adobe or just one

Ive got 4854 photos online on Adobe stock and about 3600 photos online on Fotolia!
There are big difference in the number of photos on both agencies.
I was uploaded all photos separately on both agencies but I still have to submit large amount of photos on Fotolia.
But if it is true that I have to submit photos on just one agency why there is so big difference in online photos on both agencies?

Share a link to your portfolio and I will be happy to take a look.

These are all photos and not svg vectors or videos?

Are you looking at both portfolios with all filters off? If you have nudity or any potentially offensive content in your portfolio and view one site with 'safe search' enabled and the other site with it disabled then you will see a discrepancy.

But why I see different number of photos on these two agencies?

Are some of your files svg vectors or videos in non-standard sizes? If so, those files are not accepted at Adobe Stock currently.

Hi,

Do I need to upload photos to Fotolia and Adobe stock or it is enough to upload photos to only one of these two agencies?
Will photos be copied from one agency to another automatically?

Adobe Stock and Fotolia are the same. Content submitted to Adobe Stock is automatically online at Fotolia and vice versa. Do not submit the same content separately to each site.

Over a decade ago I spent a couple of days making some images and putting them on Dreamstime and Fotolia. I never kept up with it but would sell a few images here and there and it was kinda cool to log in every 12 months or so and see $50 waiting for me. This year one of my files has become more popular and I'm selling it anywhere from 1-5 times per day now. It's on the first page of searches when sorted by relevance on Adobe Stock, and on the first page when sorted by downloads on Fotolia.

My question is: If I make this file exclusive via Fotolia's website, will it disappear from Adobe?

I see that Adobe doesn't allow exclusivity. I'm not sure which site is garnering the most hits. I'd love to maximize my profits on this file, remove it from Dreamstime where it's not doing much, and perhaps drive sales towards my newfound interest in creating additional images. I know Adobe wasn't around when I created this image so I was sort of surprised when I saw it on Adobe Stock one day. Then I read about the acquisition and synced my Adobe and Fotolia accounts (really not even sure what that did for me).

Thank you for your time!

Fotolia exclusive content is available at Adobe Stock.

Hi guys. I am new here and new in stock photography (selling for 4 months now). I have a quick question regarding what to shoot in New York City. I am heading in a few days with friends (guys and girls). So I am wondering what can be good to shoot in NYC as I have friends as models. I will be staying for 4 days. All comments are welcome. Thz in advance. ;)

I haven't watched the class personally but I have never been let down by Scott Kelby. Check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c97DhJY6BNQ

Thank you Mat. That can be helpful.

No problem, I would definitely put Dumbo on my list as their is an iconic shot of the Manhattan Bridge framing the Empire State Building that's well worth capturing. Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge (bring a wide angle lense). One thing that caught me off guard my first trip to New York was how far away the Statue of Liberty was. You'll want to make arrangements to get on a ferry or some other type of boat (or helicopter) to get a decent shot.

Hi All,

The next time you log into the Adobe Stock Contributor portal you should notice a few changes. At the top of the portfolio page you will see a 12 week trend showing your sales from the past 3 months.

In addition, the sales tab has been replaced by the "Insights" tab where you will find your sales history and the option to check your sales, downloads and tax withholding statistics for custom date ranges. You can view this data in the portal and download a csv file with the information as well.

We expect to expand this feature in the coming months. As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hello Matt and people.
In Fotolia's statistics on views, are the views of the two sites, Adobe and Fotolia?
Thank you

No, the view statistics on Fotolia are only referencing Fotolia views. We do not have a view tracker in Adobe Stock at this time.

Adobe Stock / Re: Poor $ week on fotolia

No, this is not true. All accepted files uploaded to Fotolia are automatically online at Adobe Stock and all content uploaded via Adobe Stock that is approved is automatically online at Fotolia.

Why did we sync then?

All new contributors only have the option to use the contributor portal. While it still has a long way to go, the majority of our engineering resources directed at the contributor experience are pointed at the contributor portal. It's entirely up to you which UI you prefer but as time goes on the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal is getting more intuitive and easier to use.

It's good to sync so you can determine for yourself which option is better. If you prefer Fotolia then no harm in syncing and sticking with Fotolia.

Does account syncing influence sales in some way?
Yes,
if not synced, your files won't appear at Adobe site.

No, this is not true. All accepted files uploaded to Fotolia are automatically online at Adobe Stock and all content uploaded via Adobe Stock that is approved is automatically online at Fotolia.

Syncing your account does not impact your sales or search visibility. I was only asking out of curiosity.

I've noted all of your comments. I consider the feedback in this forum to be one of the most valuable and effective tools I have in communicating the needs of contributors all around the world to the Management team at Adobe Stock. While I can't always respond in detail to each post, please note that I am reading your comments and referencing them whenever I can in an effort to drive change to improve the experience for contributors.

Thank you very much!

my may sales incredibly down on fotolia, my weekly rank constantly down, almost 50% down in two weeks, this situation is very frustrating...

I am following this thread with interest. I'm seeing growth in many accounts but would like to understand why some of you are not.

@Madman will you answer the following questions for me please?

How many files are in your account?
How long has it been since you have submitted new content?
When you most recently submitted new content, how many files did you submit?
Have you synced your Fotolia account with Adobe Stock yet?
If not, why not?

Thanks,

Mat

Thanks for your care Mat, a few years ago, my earnings were constantly increasing on fotolia, but over the last few months, it is getting down... maybe I need to work much harder now for sell more images...

I have over 5000 images on my fotolia account,
I am constantly uploading files to fotolia,
last few days ago I uploaded about 50 images (not exactly sure)
Ive synced my Fotolia account with Adobe Stock Immediately after you say it,
I never tried to go into the adobe portal before.

It sounds like you are doing everything right. Consistent uploads is key to getting regular sales. Of course the quality and subject matter you are shooting makes a difference. It's critical that we all continue to evolve our style to keep up with the changing trends of stock. What was popular five years ago might be considered cliche today. I have no idea what your work looks like, I'm only stating in general terms.

Two main things Adobe Stock customers are looking for...authenticity and diversity. We no longer need images of two white guys wearing suits and shaking hands in front of a seamless white backdrop...real people with real expressions, doing real things in real locations is what I'm finding sells consistently.

If you haven't already read the blog on the 2018 visual trends, I highly recommend you do so to get an idea of the type of content we are looking for: https://blogs.adobe.com/creative/worlds-eyes-2018-visual-trend-forecast-adobe-stock/

Good luck!

Mat

In a recent shoot, I just bought a new camera (Nikon D3400) and accidentally hit the button to adjust the exposure for one of the programmable modes. Also I just started out with photos and previously was doing video with a SONY. I look through the eyepiece, and it was a bright sunny day, so I did not notice that the exposure was being darkened quite a lot, until I did an image review, which I do after about 25 or 30 photos.

so my question is... if the exposure is adjusted by the camera using the manual function to adjust it, and it is quite dark, will there be any artifacting from software correction? the images have already been corrected. they look a little strange.

If you aren't already shooting RAW, I highly recommend you start as soon as possible. It's always best to get your exposure correct in camera of course. For those of us that don't get it right all the time, shooting RAW gives you quite a bit of flexibility in adjustment for exposure and white balance when necessary. I can be off by a full stop and adjust in my RAW conversion using Lightroom with no noticeable effect on the quality of the image.

I would also recommend you practice shooting in manual mode to take complete control over the exposure of your images. It takes time, practice and studying to get it down but once you do it will become like second nature for you and you won't have to worry about the camera settings having a negative impact on the quality of your work.

Good luck!
