Nice feature. Unfortunately the systems doesn't recognize the same image from all the sites, so some images have their earnings split in two or more.

Yeah I know, the tomato is clearly stolen. But still, those two authors (or maybe it's only one with 2 accounts) are selling the same images with minor modifications (one series is glossy and other is not). Still don't think it's allowed. Also don't know why they allow it (they are aware of the problem for two months).
The two authors you mention have the same business phone number.
Looks like their portfolios were deleted.

DT performed well in December for me, but very poorly this month. Oh well.
A lot of people are convinced there is a rotation in place at DT which affects your search placement. Nobody can provide proof of course, but I believe it to be true. I have full months which are unbelievably strong, immediately followed by months where sales are terrible.
I'm noticing the same pattern. It's funny to see that many of us ride the high wave while others are on a low wave. But after a month the roles are reversed.

Maybe they had this Dexter in mind: The boy genius

Yup. There are things that need to fixed on the site, but looks like an (optional) app for the buyers is more important. If it weren't for deepmeta we would still be uploading the images one by one (some still do, since vectors aren't supported in DM).

We have hundreds of features we want to produce on iStock. The problem is time. If we come up with a new feature today, we probably couldn't implement it for 7 or 8 months. Such is life with a site as large and complex as iStock.
We especially have a lot of great interface enhancements. We wanted a way to test and implement them quickly without interfering with the main development track. We also had some experience doing rapid app development in Mac OS X and it had many of the features we were looking for.
This is how 'Dexter' was born (Dexter was our code-name for the project: a 'killer new interface' don't laugh, it took many sleepless nights to come up with that ). For the past 3 months, we've been developing this stand-alone app that allows customers to rapidly find and download iStock content. Here at Macworld, we were finally ready to show it to the world. http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=82230&page=1

Yes, when we start repeating links to a parody video on the same thread, it's time to put it to bed.... although I think Leaf posted it the first time, so maybe that doesn't count.
I clicked on the thread but it jumped to the last page (page 3) so I didn't see Leaf posting the same thing on page 2. Sry.

Being happy is not being enthusiastic Enthusiasm probably comes with the package. That's why you pay more for a Mac (at least here in Europe)

I've send all of my "not suitable as s stock" files to scout and they got accepted. Hoewever I don't think it's worth it, the images just gets burried since they get accepted a month after they were submitted for the first time.

I only read MSG, other forums have too many people with too much time/strict rules on the forums/crazy admins/you name it. What I'd like to point out is that Customer support at IS is pretty slow. I've send them and inquiry about some copyright infringement and it's been almost two months since then (I even send a second mail and got an answer "They take it seriously and it may take time"). If they take it seriously why don't they do something about it now?

StockXpert is usually the fastest, especially for vectors. 123rf and SS aren't far behind.

It's funny to see Andres Rodrigues apologizing in that topic. Why would he do that?

I learned some of it at the college, we had computer graphics lectures that included some work in Maya and then programming in openGL. The rest I learned on my own but didn't have the time to continue learning since I had other things to do. I'm just starting to get back to it.
There are many tutorials and books on the web. Those should be enough for the basic stuff. Then the only limitation is the time invested and your imagination.

Normal on most of the sites. Was very surprised with the sales on 123rf yesterday, BDE by far.
