on the review matter, SS is shameful sometimes!
I am in the middle of a fight with one of them that DOES NOT know SS guidelines...very frustrating...

Split your batches up during submission. Stagger the content. After 2 years as an illustrator and almost 4 years retouching and submitting another photographers work, I have found that the reviewing is completely arbitrary and subjective. There is no absolute regarding commercial value if you have professional experience behind your work. Resubmit when your gut tells you they are wrong.

Honestly I feel that rejections by in large are because of a particular inspector.  Arbitrary yes.  Does your batch go to atilla and is highly rejected? sometimes yes. This tells me that, for the most part, inspection at SS depends on who you get.

Lat Sat the crazy reviewer rejected 32 out of 33 photos of my last batch! It really depends who is assessing your pics and that is not fair! Could we start a sort of e-petition against it...so frustrating and time consuming!

yes, it seems slow on all the agencies...little activity, just happy for august 1st's sale on alamy...that could save the month...

Is the second part of the month getting any better? Historically I mean...

Anyone know any more about the sudden drop in Enhanced License Downloads this month (assuming it is still affecting more contributors than me!)?

I plotted out my earnings from Shutterstock over the past 18 months and separated out subscriptions, on demand, EDs and single sales. I have to go back to June 2011 to find a month with zero Enhanced license downloads.

Steve

Can you believe I have never had a Enhanched download on SS? How much do they pay for it?

I have been very active on SS since March, I have 820 images in the portfolio and over 500 sales in these months, but no ED...is that because almost my entire portfolio is made of Editorials? Why else?

Please let me know if I am making some mistake...thanks!

yes, they accepted all my pics and I can already see views of my images, but I am a bit confused about pricing. Should I go for microstock, standard or premium?

Hi All,

I have recently uploaded the first batch of 20 on Zoonar, got approved, chosen the partner and now trying to manage the pics and the pricing.
Any suggestion on the pricing section? Standard/premium/microstock...waht to choose?

Dear Steve,

congrats on your great achievement!

I have similar numbers you had in 2010, about 700 images and $70 a month...still on the 25 cents per image, since I started uploading in March. I try to have 70-100 images approved every month and would like to achieve 1000 by the end of this year.
Regards,

very slow month and the scary thing is that I am uploading a lot of new pics but the few dowloads are old images...very few views and no sales for the pics uploaded in the last few months!

It is true, RPd is higher these days, but the sales almost disappeared recently!

anyways, talking about rejections, I have noticed in these days they are almost impossible! 100% of rejected files...what is going on?

Hi,

I am a new member on iStock and I uploaded my 18 weekly allowed images for the last 3 weeks.
I have noticed that some of the images submitted are still pending after 2 weeks. So far only 6 were accepted, some rejected and resubmitted but others never reviewed! Is it normal to have pending files for 2 weeks? Please advise,

Thanks!

Hi,

just got accepted on iStock last week and submitted the first 18 pics.
Still pending after one week...how long do they take to assess your images?

Also, is iStock as good as SS in terms of ratio new photos /sales?

Thanks and sorry for the boring questions..

Hi,

just getting a bit discouraged, I have about 160 files on DP and started to upload 2 months ago. Still 0 sales and the most viewed file has about 20 views... Is that a normal situation? Not asking much, just a sign of life! ;D

46
don't know for you, people, but this beginning of May was dead on DT for me...0 sales with 680 files so far!

I don' know about you guys, but this January on DT was unbelievable for me. A 50 credits sale, a lot of 7'8'10 credits ones...really excellent. The problem is they are rejecting 70% of my images and they became really strict...
I just passed SS appication and trying iStock. Now I have to decide when to quit exclusivity with DT...tough call...

I am exclusive with them and considering switch to non-exc..lately I have noticed less sales but higher revenue...

...would like to try the admission submission of 5 pics at DP and freeze the account until I will be free from exclusivity.

Is there an option like at SS in which you can opt out your gallery?
Please, let me know.

Thanks

You don't have to worry about it.  On IS the 3 pics are an entrance exam only and don't go on sale.  Once you get in they would have to be submitted again for inclusion in the collection - not at all unusual for one or more to be rejected.

interesting, thanks! Maybe I am going to open an account and try the entrance exam, then. I will try to submit 3 images that were accepted by SS...
