Thx!

General Stock Discussion / Re: TinEye anyone ?
« on: May 20, 2008, 14:31 »
I found out about TinEye a few days ago and gave it a try. For my top selling images I get between 5-7 hits. It's still better ans less time consuming than Googling my name.

One of my images was found 417 times!!!!  :o

I was so impressed that I did a video on it right here on m blog: http://image-y.com/blog/reviews/tineye/. The database will grow and you'll find more and more images. They're on the right track!

I'm happy with the raise. I just got a 27% increase. How many employers would give you a 27% pay raise?

Hi Guys!

I know this tutorial has been done a gazzilion times... but not on my blog so there!  ;)

As promised, here's my Photoshop video tutorial on creating a dark blue sky without filters. I hope you find it useful.

I have 2 clear ones and I also have a chrome dome. Clears are great for weddings, banquets, ect.... I tried the cloud and it's softer and great for fashion and general studio work.

85
thanks for the tutorial.  What program did you make it with?

I used Camtasia 5

Hey Matt!

Thanks for the comment, it's approved.  ;) I've been great, focusing my business on microstock.

The Doc just got back from Dominican Republic shooting Bianca. Gotta love his job!  ;D

Hi guys!

I just wanted to let you know that I just finished reading Joe McNally's new book: The Moment it clicks. Buy your X-mas present early! ;-) It's probably THE best photo book I've read... and I've read quite a few.

Check out my full review here on my blog! And while you're at it, I invite you to register to get all my upcoming goodies via RSS! :-)

Yaymicro / Re: Yaymicro.com looking for contributors
« on: April 24, 2008, 17:57 »
I'll be blunt... as a new site, they should be paying you to upload since the risk/reward ratio isn't that good.. Pay me and I'll contribute my 2500+ images. Business is business.  ;)

Most pros will use their full name because it becomes their trademark. But unless you're really well known, make sure that your name is common enough that people won't make mistakes typing it. I have my name as a domain name www.yanikchauvin.com but Yanik is not usually spelled that way so a lot of people couldn't find me on Google. So I bought www.IMAGE-Y.com. Now people find me right away.  :D

iStockPhoto.com / Re: The curse of overfiltering
« on: April 20, 2008, 15:27 »
This is really funny... and frustrated at the same time cuz roughly 80% of my last 2 batches were refused for artifacting. All I did was adjust curves as I usually do. I now shoot with a D300 at ISO100. Technically, my images have never looked better at 100%. What pisses me off is that I now spend good money on shoots as this is my main income now. And Istock giving me roughyl 35% of that income.

I wrote to scout to see what's up. To be continued....
