Wow! Really eye opening. Had no clue Shutterstock paid out so little... Lets make this clear before all your disciples slate me - I respect that you have done very well in the micro stock world but just admit you are in it for the money!
I don't want to get into all this (because it looks like it's going to get very ugly), but I just have to say one thing though... As far as I know, no one would ever be able to go far with anything, if they didn't like it. I'm pretty sure Steve Jobs was also "in it for the money", but if he didn't like what he was creating, he'd never had made it as far as he did. (Not wanting to compare Yuri to Steve Jobs, but it was the best example I could think of.....) All I'm saying is that I'm sure it's possible to actually like what you're doing and still earn a profit from it while wanting to "give something back" or whatever it's called.

I don't think he can quite compete with the big agencies... but you never know. Maybe one day?

3.4 million dollars investment? Wow he really knows how to spend money:) My investment in my own site was 250 dollars:)
Somewhere there's a web programmer with 3.35 million dollars in his bank account.
WOW! That's insane! Sure it's not Danish money...? :s Would make a lot more sense......

I totally understand Yuri on this one. I always tell the people I shoot that they should not worry AT ALL about their contact information being shared with anyone, so I really hope that the guy didn't get it from an agency...
It's Yuri's ASSUMPTION that the only source of addresses for models is his model release file that is interesting, along with his anger over someone making a claim that he disputes and that interferes with his promotional activities.
But how else would he be able to get the guy's contact information? How would he be able to figure out even Jesper's first name without having contacted someone who's used his images? I'm still a little concerned about this...

[...] . I also do not like that they got a hold of Jesper's personal contact information without my consent. This means that at least one of our distribution partners has broken our privacy policy, which we now have to spend time following up on. I'm sorry Yuri but I really don't understand this part (maybe my english is just not so good)... are you the only "owner" of his contact informations? It seems a bit.... weird... what if he obtained Jesper's contact infos via another channel?
... like a model agency for example?

They wouldn't be allowed to share Jesper's contact information, would they? That being said, I think the video is very funny.

I can't remember exactly but I think the record is around $200,000 for the Windows splash screen.
The animation? Wow..........

It's not because the images reach some kind of specific age or anything...?

Well, I don't really do animal images, but I suppose you might want to get a property release? I once heard that if you're taking images of tattoos, you should get a property release because the tattoos belong to someone. I guess the dog belongs to someone as well....? Not sure though.

Attending this bootcamp will pretty much give a huge boost to any photographers resume and will give him/her an advantage to stand out in the crowded field. Win win for both parties IMO.
Resume? Who for? What 'employment' might they gain learning stock photography with Yuri? Work as a image reveiwer for pennies at SS?
I don't think it'll hurt your resume, that's for sure! It's never bad to expand your knowledge and learn new stuff, and there is no doubt that Yuri is doing well, so what they will learn will definitely be useful for them if they want to do stock.

I think your images look really good, but some of them seem a bit dark. If I were you I think I'd try to make them brighter. You've got a lot of images with many colors in them, but none of the colors really shine through.
