White House Custom Colour (whcc) is highly regarded by many.

Paypal (if that is what you use to get paid) records all payment transactions.  Very easy to see the payments you received from each site.

I also do what EmberMike said.  As long as I have been with Fotolia, they have always incorrectly reported what was earned during the past year, not what was paid out.

I always was paid right after the end of the month regardless of small the balance was, even if it was a couple of dollars.

I would recommend White House Custom Colour http://www.whcc.com/

I have not had a lot printed there, but want I have had done has been excellent.  I have seen it recommended many times also.  Not in California however.

I'm not sure it works the same way on an individual portfolio. I consider my port average or even below, but I way outsold overall Shutterstock in the first quarter based on the way you're figuring it. I had 1,850 images in my port on March 30 with 5,161 sales for the first three months. That would be 279 percent. I could also delete about 60 percent of my port and get the same amount of sales because most of my stuff doesn't sell.
I would say you are doing very well.  I took a quick look at your portfolio and I think you have an above average portfolio. I don't know if this comparison means anything, but I noticed the numbers in Shutterstock's quarterly results so I thought I'd throw this out there.

just started last month mid.
336/1650= 20%
Is this what you mean. So its bad to me i think?  :D
I don't think this would be very meaningful to someone just starting out.

Shutterstock recently reported its 1st quarter results.  In its report it noted the number of paid downloads was 29.7 million and the number of images in its collection (end of period) was 35.4.  This means during the quarter the number of downloads as a percentage of its portfolio was 83.9%.

How did your portfolio do in Q1 as compared to Shutterstock overall?  My Q1 downloads as a percentage of my portfolio size was very close to Shutterstock's overall results at 83%.

does that mean you have sold 83% of your portfolio?

It means if I had 1000 images in my portfolio, I had 830 downloads in Q1.

Maybe, I haven't had my coffee yet, but I'm not sure I understand the question.

Your Q1 downloads at SS divided by your portfolio size at the end of Q1.

And what is that supposed to tell me?
Perhaps it will give you some insight as to whether you have an above or below average portfolio.  With a mix of photos, vectors, and videos maybe it tells you nothing.

Should the portfolio size be the one at the end of Mar-2014 or an average of the three months ?

Shutterstock reported its total at the end of the quarter so go with that.

I report the money I actually receive on my taxes, not the 1099 amount (if it does not match).  I do inform my accountant of both amounts, but the actual amount received is used.  This is a valid way to do this according to my accountant.  Talk to your accountant.

Speaking of Wisconsin and cold weather, I saw a convertible with the top down on the way to the Packers game last Sunday.  The temperature was about 5 degrees Fahrenheit.

"Logos & Corporate Branding

We will not accept images of protected logos and corporate branding where the logo is the sole content of the image. "

I'm guessing this maybe the problem.

This is probably the reason.  It is no big deal, but I though some of you would get a laugh out of it.

I did this almost 2 years ago when my daughter turned 18.  I would definitely ask first however just be safe.  I was also able to refer my daughter, again ask about this also.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but are images at Offset exclusive or can they also be sold on ones personal website?

Software - General / Re: Saving keywords in metadata
« on: July 19, 2013, 07:57 »
got it. But it seems that it does not over-write the new keywords rather keeps the same IPTC as earlier. though it can enter new IPTC onto a blank new image.. any bug !

I don't have IrfanView in front of me, but it has options on whether keywords should be overwritten or appended, maybe other options also.

It saves the keywords in the order that I type them in.  There is the option to have titles, descriptions, and keywords apply to all selected images.

Try IrfanView.  This is what I use now that prostockmaster is no longer free.

Unless things have changed, at fotolia selecting a catagory is not required in order to submit an image.

Probably start looking here:

http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt/community/sales,_use___hotel_occupancy_tax/14487/taxability_lists/580900

You may have to contact some one from Pennsylvania's Dept. of Revenue or your accountant.
