Im IN too !!!
Some days ago i wrote about the long time waiting period for my application, well now that im in i have to say the reviews are more than fast, just like it was in StockXpert for me, sometimes a couple of minutes.
I just have doubts on the upload limit, how does it work? Seems like a daily limit but not always the same, yesterday i had 14 images, now i have 11, meybe the number is 10 images for day and it keeps growing until we upload?
cheers

I am still waiting for the application, and for what i read i wil have to wait long.
I understant being a new site cost must be minimum, but on the other hand this should be done without giving up a good performance of the site, they are making a name and a reputation and having contributors wait for a month just to get a few images reviewed is starting with the wrong foot as i see it.
I dont know what the solution would be besides geting more reviewers (at least temporary), maybe give preference to application process than regular reviews, Maybe let the allready established profesionals that have a massive port in all other sites get pass their images without having to review them. Maybe let pass all images from people with a high aproval percentage and only review them once in the air with the consecuence of lowering that Aproval percentage if some x n of images dont pass that post review... i dont know.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Agency Collection Now Showing up on IStock
« on: September 17, 2010, 06:14 »
Sorry but i cant find any agency image on istock, and the ones linked here are no longer there.

EDITED TO ADD THIS:
searching on the istock foru,m i saw this posted by an admin.

1. Apologies for this maelstrom.

2. At this very moment & due to a technical glitch, both accepted and rejected files are showing up as active files in Agency.

3. Until this glitch is addressed and fixed, all ingestion into Agency has been paused.

Thank you so very much for your understanding.

Guess that images shown here as crapy actually were rejected files??

hi all.
Just want to share that i begun on Alamy last week and i was confused about the lack of activity (sales) but today i found i had a sale for 152$ (91,2 royalty) HEY if thats how it goes, i can wait a week between sales!!!

You're either very, very good or very, very lucky. Could even be both. Alamy is not a big volume seller, sales often take months to report. It took about a year before I got my first sale, now I usually get one or two a month, often for not much more than a couple of dozen dollars commission.

Guess im very lucky, besides the image sold was one of the less sold i have in other sites, again luck and having just what a person looks for in a concrete moment, then again luck.

Veer / Re: Veer? what are they doing??
« on: September 14, 2010, 08:40 »
They're finally clearing all the D4C submissions.  I had a big stack of images waiting around since June.  Now there's only one left to be processed, along with 911 from after the promotion ended.
I made a few hundred in their Dash for Cash program and am now also enjoying sales at decent prices from those submissions.
I like Veer.

Are you serious??? So you upload batches of hundreds ??? well i think i know why my sales have droped lately, i guess in the D4C period they have increased drastically their amount of images, so my tiny port is less visible.
I can only dream to produce images in hundreds like you do  :(
cheers

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Istock Independents Only Poll
« on: September 11, 2010, 16:54 »
Regarding 2 FACTS:

1. With leaving content there you are giving signal to other agencies that they CAN reduce your royalties for 1/4 (25%) too as iStock did.

2. With leaving your content there you are giving 85% of money to iStock and Getty on any sale your images make.

Have you come up to those two FACTS?

Why would you leave your content on iStock after changes take effect?

In fact all agencies can do whatever they want, and no action taken by a single contributor will do anything at all. Then only way taking out your port could be something meaningfully would be if there was some kind of UNION in our band, and we made this as a collective group. If you and a bunch more of people take your port out they wouldn't even notice it, and the only loosing money will be you. Sad but true, we should have an UNION if we want to threaten them with our actions, and negotiate better conditions.

i vote for DT just because i think they have a nice system for the prices, and if they would have more traffic it could be my best seller site, so tahts why i would sent buyer there.

I voted for the no upload more option, but also could vote for the not decided yet, as i pretend to wait and see what happens the next months.
I have calculated a loss of about 15% of my income with the new sytem, it sucks, but in the other hand i cant renounce to the other 85%, Istock is between 1/3 to 1/4 of my total income in micro.

could some of you explain to me why are you opted out of the partner program.
I have just checked and my images arent there, in thinkstock at least. But now i wonder why shouldnt i opt in, i was a contributor in StockXpert and i am right now contributing in other sites as well, so my images are available in many sites, what would be the reason not to sell in thinkstock too? is just a matter of the price or comission they sale, or is it because you think it would damage your sales at istock? Thank you in advance for your opinion.

Im a contributor from Spain, and i get paid in dollars from fotolia and from anyother site. I wish 1 credit would be 1 euro though that is not true.

Veer / Re: What happens to Veer MP?
« on: December 28, 2009, 11:45 »
Strange thing happen to me, i have no sales since december 10th, before that i use to have at least a sale each two days, if no every day.
Also the graph of views have drastically fall down, strange  ???

So... being Deepmeta only for istock. Do you guys would recomend it for someone like me contributing to 7 sites?
The truth is i never even try it becouse i thought it was pointless having to manage the files in the program only for istock and then apart for all other sites, but maybe im wrong and it can also be used to organize my files and do the metadata work?
That feature you are talking about seems a great feature.

Thank you.

Adobe Stock / Re: FT rank
« on: November 18, 2009, 04:10 »
Hmm so maybe I'm not silver then, I thought when it said 1002 sales that actually meant 1002 sales according to them but does it really mean total sales without fotolia math applied?  Why put total sales there if it's not really how they count sales?  It's kind of confusing then.

I have the total sales number and then i have the "pay per download" number of sales and the "sub" number of sales separated. Of course the total equals this two added, so one should have to do the math in order to calculate the "ranking sales number"

Adobe Stock / Re: FT rank
« on: November 17, 2009, 13:54 »
I don't know why but I think maybe people with european accounts (or something) don't have the 7 day, and overall rank.  Theirs says absolute and relative instead.

I can confirm that, im Spanish and have tha absolute and relative numbers also.

BTW mine are:

Absolute: 1030
relative: 275

So this ranks ara showing our sales compared to the total contributors in FT right? so im the 1030 member in number of total sales in FT, is that right? or maybe some other parameter not the sales??

Photo Critique / Re: Paranoid about noise and things
« on: November 07, 2009, 19:35 »
Noise doesnt only is about ISO settings, its more a thing of exposure. One image can have more noise at ISO 100 that at ISO 200 with the same camera if the ISO 100 was underexposed, so the better would be to expose with a litle bit of OVEREXPOSE, just 1/3 or 2/3 stops when dealing with high ISO, and then correct the exposure in the RAW processing. This way you can reduce greatly noise in high ISO shots.

I think the keyword "background" is used in every shoot, so its just useless now a day.
