Leaf, you just got another referral ... me!  ;D Just uploaded my first five. Not sure how much help it will be to you, though. We'll see how it goes.  Carolyn

That's good to know. I know the other day they said they would be down one day. But it's been two now. I didn't even think to check the FB page.

Stay away from Pixmac!

Why stay away from Pixmac? I just uploaded a handful to test their keywording and processing, etc. It's been 16 days now and still in "Waiting". Wrote several times but keep getting response from them to be "patient" because of the massive number of uploads they've had. Said it usually only takes 2-3 days. Flags started going up. But when I do search on different images, it looks like they are having sales. Just curious why the exclamation in your statement. These are just the first few I've uploaded, so it would be good to know about any problems NOW. Thanks.

Cutcaster / Re: Sales at CutCaster

Well, I just spent 15 minutes writing the most beautiful ( ;D) reply on this topic. I accidentally hit a button somewhere on the screen and went into never-never-land. And it was really good! Can't remember it all now, so this will be a shortened version.

I joined CC at the very beginning. Was very excited about being on the ground floor. John is absolutely incredible. He's the nicest guy in the world to work with. And he ALWAYS responded almost immediately to any emails with more courtesy, consideration, and professionalism than you'll find with any of the other sites.

My complaint is not with John, though. My problem has been very, VERY low to no views. I have had one $5 sale since the very beginning. I've talked about this with John many times, and he's always trying to find ways to get the images seen more. But it just hasn't worked for me. I finally stopped uploading. No matter how easy the process is, it just doesn't make sense to spend the time uploading to a site where your images never get viewed.

I told John I'd give it a year, and I'm almost there now. I know I won't close my account, but will probably just leave them there "just in case". Maybe from time to time an image of mine will find its way to someone who likes it enough to purchase. And maybe one day those sales will add up to a payout for me.

In the meantime, I am very happy for all of you who ARE having success with CC. John has worked his butt off getting this company going, and I hope that it is very successful for him. Better yet, I'd love to see things turn around so much that others like me will regain some confidence in CC and start uploading again. Good luck, John!

I would love to try there but don't have the software to convert to CMYK. I use PSE and Lightroom 2.0. Have corresponded with them several times about whether they had some other format in place to get around the conversion (i.e. they converted once jpg or tiff uploaded, etc.), but apparently they don't. Can't afford right now to buy anymore software. That's too bad.

Graficalyminded, are any of the other 21 agencies you submit to similar to the business card site? One that doesn't require CMYK conversion first? If so, I would be very interested in information on them.

Thanks for the info, Warren. I did get a response back from AR support today. They said "Please be informed that some class of our both open studio and premium studio members are experiencing this problem.  Our IT team is working hard to fix this bug and I hope that it could be fixed soon." They ask for patience while they work on the problem. The maximum amount you can have on an open account is 50 pieces. I already have that number ready, so it wouldn't hurt, I guess, to upload and see what happens. Can't be any worse than having them sit on some of the other sites that aren't doing anything right now. At this point, I'm just about ready to try anything. Actually, I have been filling that proverbial pipe full waiting to see what comes out the other end. LOL! Will keep you posted if anything happens, and thanks for all your help.

Thanks, Adelaide. I did see the previous posts here back in May. Also looked at your port on Artist Rising. Appreciate your reply, and I'll look more into fineartamerica.com. I'm not having much luck with ImageKind, either, so I'm just letting that sit for now.

Thanks for the update, Pat. Good advice, and that's what I'm trying to do now. It's really getting tough out there, but we all are feeling it. Helps to get feedback from those who have "been there" and "tried that". :-)

Thanks, Pat, I will check out Redbubble. Seems like I saw something somewhere on here tonight regarding "watch out for redbubble", too. I've been searching so many posts now I can't remember where it was. I will check it out, though. I do have an account on Zazzle and have done a little with them. I think I'll hold off on the artistrising thing until I can get some more positive feedback from someone. Thanks, again.

Print on Demand Forum / artistrising.com
« on: March 02, 2009, 01:35 »
It's been a very long time since anyone has posted on this topic, and not sure this is the correct place to post. I found another thread on it with the latest post back in May of 2008. I signed up with artistrising.com tonight. Then, I started reading their forum. Found quite a few posts by people who reported sales not showing up in reports, not getting paid. When I tried to post there, I kept getting the runtime error message or something like that. I haven't uploaded anything there yet because I decided to dig a little deeper first.

Does anyone here have any current experience with artistrising.com? Don't want to waste time uploading there if I will have trouble selling or, worse yet, collecting if I do have sales.

I also read comments about people selling on art.com. I know these two are connected, as is allposters. Can you upload and sell your work directly on art.com, or do you have to go through artistrising.com and THEY select which ones go there? Not sure how that works.

I do have work on ImageKind, but just downgraded my paid account to a free one because of not much activity as far as sales. Anyone have any suggestions on other places like that which have good traffic and exposure for sales?

Thanks for any input!

Aren't you refering to how IE displays missing images?

Yes, I am. The icons for the other agencies show up fine. It's just BigStock and StockXpert that have x's in them. I can click on them, and it takes me to the stock site, but I don't see the "normal" logo for them. All the rest are as they should be.

For some reason, Leaf had a "unignore" button under the name. I just now clicked it to change. When I did, the x's under the names are now the "ignore" buttons. That part is fine. But I still have the x for the BigStock and StockXpert boxes. That didn't change.

I haven't been on the site for several weeks. Now I am noticing under everyone's meters a box with a red "x" in it. Some boxes say "ignore" and some say "unignore". What exactly does that mean? Also, where the boxes are for links to stock sites at the bottom of each post (under url to website if there is one) I'm seeing a box with only a red "x" in it. If I click on each of them, one takes me to BigStockPhoto and one takes me to StockXpert. The boxes for the other stock sites seem to be okay, and these are the only two with the "x". Is this just me or is it everyone? If it's just me, what could be causing it?

I must be having problems with this site. The link opens up in a window that says there's no file there. I'm also seeing a LOT of boxes with red x's in this forum. Just downloaded the new update to Norton 360 the other day. Wonder if that's the problem. It has sure been making my system s-l-o-w!

Move over, guys and gals! Looks like I'm the next conquest on her/his list ... at least as of this posting, LOL! I emailed admin and immediately changed my avatar. At least the original one is down. Now I can't get another one up to replace it. Oh, well. Toooooooooooo  much fun!

How about Capital M and G with the word 'stock' in between vertically.

I like this idea. I'm not trying to be funny ( ;D), but with all caps it reminds me of what I'm supposed to ask the waitress not to put in my food at the Chinese restaurants.

If you still need some, you can use mine. Not much of an "avatar" as it's just a self-portrait, but you're welcome to use it.

Hi! I'm a new member here. I had seen this print business card site talked about on another site. When I checked it out, I couldn't figure out how to sign on as a contributor of card designs. I emailed them at support but never got a response. Someone said above that it was by invitation only. Is that true? If not, could someone give me some more specific instructions as to how to start up with them? The home page isn't really clear on that. Thanks!
