Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia officially closed
« on: November 06, 2019, 15:14 »

It's incredible how so many people here can't figure out how to search in their own portfolio. Seriously it's not rocket science.

Go to your account page at this link https://contributor.stock.adobe.com/en/account

Then click on "see my public profile", then type banana in search and only your bananas will show up. Hope we are  all happy monkeys now.

I think you missed the point, people want to actually do something with the results not just browse their past triumphs.

You have made an additional point.

I was answering the following, "I do miss not being able to search my portfolio...by keyword rather than id number."

and "When I say "searching" I mean writing in a field a word or a short phrase that will return all the corresponding images, and only those images."

A portfolio search is possible but only in the frontend, as Uncle Pete says, bookmark your link.

Still missing the possibility to search in the own portfolio on AS.

https://stock.adobe.com/search/images?creator_id=

You can search your own with a little effort.

You need to add your ID number and then bookmark. That's my bookmark, minus my ID number. I don't know if there's anywhere on the contributor panels, I just use that one, that I created myself. I'd do that for anyone who's not anonymous, otherwise no way to help past that link.  :)

If you click that link above, you will need to add =######### for example = plus your ID number, or it won't work.

If you copy and paste the link, the = stays, just add your ID number

No, this is not "searching" in my portfolio.
This is watching my portfolio (and this I know how to do it from the first day of Adobe Stock)
When I say "searching" I mean writing in a field a word or a short phrase that will return all the corresponding images, and only those images.
For example if in the search field I write banana it should show me all my images with the keyword "banana" or "banana" in the title (as you can do with the catalog manager in Shutterstock).
I find it unacceptable that a company like Adobe, which claims to be at the forefront of technology, cannot do so.....

Was their contributor till 2017 then dropped them. Returned in the end of 2018.
Currently i get about 40-50$ a month from almost 10.000 files.

I'm amazed you can put 10,000 images through their laborious submitting and keywording system in such a short time.

P.s UK taxpayers are already paying part of their tax towards the UK's commitment towards overseas aid (which includes social programs in India) - 0.7% of GDP (source: https://www.theweek.co.uk/63394/foreign-aid-how-and-where-is-britain-s-budget-spent)
Wow, I hadn't realised it had sunk so low. Still, with all the money being wasted on Brexit I suppose I should be relieved it isn't lower.
Still, I'm not sure how naming and shaming the UK for its current poor Overseas Aid Programme is relevant to this thread - and other countries do worse - indeed the very article you quote says the UK is the only country which has met it's UN target, so not sure why you've singled us out at all.
I didn't read it as an attempt to shame....the opposite in fact.

Me too.

Anyway, what we really want to know is, will Halloween be postponed until 31st of January?  :D

Shutterstock.com / Re: Zero sales of new files
« on: October 17, 2019, 10:39 »
I wrote about this earlier this year.

Why your New Images on Shutterstock arent Being Seen

I've had just 2 sales from around 50 new images uploaded in the last month. October is so far a very poor month for me, but this comes after a good few months over the summer.

Depends on what you upload, doesn't it. I just uploaded yesterday, got accepted overnight, both are on page one of the search, for Relevant.

I know people want to believe some sinister plot is behind lower earnings, some insider conspiracy behind dropping sales, while I can accept, it's not us or our work or anything controlling income.

The problem is competition and the amount of competition. Of course that's no fun... it doesn't involve the unknown, claims, mystery or conspiracy. It's just too simple that plain old supply and demand economics that's behind the marketing of everything we do, could be so easy to understand as the reason.

I'd like to suggest to the people who think everything on Microstock is a game and controlled and the managers or some computer control our earnings, should go out and do something else. You can't change the game and if you honestly believe it's all controlled, there's nothing but futility and frustration ahead.

I'm not denying that sales and earnings are down, I'm just not going to agree with the theories that everything is controlled and that's why. My images get first page placement as new images. If they get downloads they stay and earn. If not they drop down. How's that some evil plot against us?

New is new and relevant forces new to the front. Maybe there's something else going on? Hmmm, like competition!

Right, Microstock is dying. Not for agencies, but for us.

You quoted me, so I'm assuming you're addressing me. I have never said there is a plot against us and I also mentioned the things you have just mentioned in the article.

For me it's noticeable... My advise is to constantly upload.

Enviado desde mi LYA-L29 mediante Tapatalk

Whether it's real or superstition, uploading on a regular basis can't hurt.

I think there have been some people who stopped uploading and their sales have dropped just like people who have continued. What I mean is, a perceived cause and effect from a short time, individual observation or forum wisdom and mythology, doesn't make it fact.

There are people in this forum who haven't produced new work in several years, but moan about declining sales.

83
most of the buyers shop around...keep open few browser pages type what you need to search and boom, you find the same clip on different agencies...go figure where buyer will buy...

Small buyers maybe. Big companies, I doubt it.

84
For the moment I only uploaded a hundred videos on Istock and zero photo, I should perhaps have started by doing the opposite ... do you think it is better that I stop uploder videos ? Is it so bad compared to other stocks? ok for about 15 dollars for one video but not much less ... on average in any case.

If you feed agencies that sell your work for peanuts you'll lose pontential sales on other agencies that pay you better!!!

I'd love to be on that way, but unfortunately it doesn't work on that way. The client who would buy your image in one particular moment on one exact search result in one particular agency, even will buy this image just because of the conviction in the moment.... this client will never buy your image on other agency searching you and your portfolio, or if yes will be in 1% of the cases.

I agree. I doubt very many buyers will chase individual contributors, as long as they still have enough choices they will stay with the site they like. It's unlikely a mass walk out of contributors will ever happen, D-day was the first and only attempt and it didn't work. For the big sites most buyers won't notice or care if individual contributors are gone. Even when Sean Locke left, I doubt it had any effect on istock's sales. Most buyers will be more interested in the site's prices, special offers and useful site functions than individual contributors.

85
I wonder how you keep  submit to istock guys...those reveneus are a joke...
I stopped the upload of new videos. And for photos my RPD is higher than most of sites. It is indeed the highest excluding Adobe Stock and SS.

To rephrase, for you IS has the lowest rpd from these sites.

86
Ss pays to the payment email shown in your account. But if you change the payment email on October 1, this will only affect the November payment. The hacker in this case used this to his advantage and changed the payment email on the 30th and the real owner of the account changed it back on the 1st which is too late.

Folks, don't save your ss credentials in ftp programs. Ss foolishly uses the same credentials for ftp as your site login. This is probably the main cause for so many hacks.

If you go to the link above when not logged in to DT it goes to Message board rules. I didn't read pass the first line "Please remember that posting on Dreamstime is a privilege awarded to you as a user."

That pretty much sums up everything about DT.

After 4 years i am quitting Istock too. Constantly declining sales, insulting 15% and 0.00003$ sells. I should have quit much earlier.

The royalty percentage of 15% was there when you joined. They keep it that way because most contributors with large ports won't leave as the income makes it worthwhile to stay, and contributors with small ports who leave are outnumbered by new contributors joining.

Very unprofessional site. After revealing real contributor name, without any notice for artists, I deleted my account.

What? Real name is visible on the web?

Yup. You can read about it here.

Dreamstime.com / Re: 101$ after 2 years
« on: August 01, 2019, 09:34 »
After 2 years, with a port around 1800 pictures, I finally received my 100$... the day after the collection, I erased all my photos, one by one. Adios Dreamstime. I received a lot more money from my other 3 agencies ... I still have a balance of $ 1.05, I leave it to you Dreamstime, I think you need it more than me!

Your decision to leave Dreamstime was because it was not making as much money as the other sites you're with.

So you decided to punish them by removing your images? And in pursuit of punishing them, you punished yourself by spending days deleting 1800 images one by one. It's incredible how much time people have.

@Chichikov Every agency will have backups of your images.

My account have blocked because of too similar contents on Adobe stock.I send an e mail and as far as I understand it is a kind of warning and reoccurence will cause termination. My question is will i have my previous contents and money after my account unblocked?

Money, probably yes. Similar content maybe not.

The whole purpose of joining as a contributor is to get paid for which you need paypal or the others. Paypal has already connected to your bank in your country and your bank has your Id.

Therefore your Id has already been verified, by a more credible firm than Dreamstime. If your name and address of your Dt ac. matches your paypal account, there really shouldn't be an issue. Not forgetting that for the tax forms they need our Tax Id number which is yet another match.

Dreamstime.com / Re: Closing account caution

@Uncle Pete

It's not like you can have dozens of paypal accounts, unless you have dozens of bank accounts. A usable paypal ac. has to be connected to your bank and your bank knows who you are. They have seen your id. when you went there in person to open an account.

However, I'm not going to send one to a stock agency online, because I trust them way less than banks and I especially don't trust Dt.

Don't you remember when they made their users private information available for public viewing, without informing them first. I know of contributors who closed their accounts because of what they did. Dt soon reversed the action.

"Dreamstime recently made the unusual move of showing publicly some of its users confidential information, it was a test run for what they hoped would be a site wide change (for all users, sellers and buyers)."

http://www.microstockposts.com/dreamstimes-identity-crisis/

I know their email database was in all likelihood hacked because for around a couple of years, I kept on getting emails from someone claiming to be from dt and asking to click on something. However, the emails weren't from dt. There are threads about this in their forum, a lot of dt contributors received these emails. How did this person get hold of Dt users emails? Dt have never made an announcement like other sites do when they know that users information has been stolen.

And they want me to send them my photo id? No chance. Recovering from identity theft could cost be more time and money than it's worth.

You do have to fill in a Tax form at SS which has to be approved to get any payment. I have to enter my Tax Id number given by the UK govt...whether they validate this I can't say. I suspect like many things SS do it gets them off the hook should there be an issue.

Exactly. Plus for me at least the name matches that of my PayPal ac. and in my model releases.
So why does DT require an Id. now in order to release payment. They were paying me since 2007 without one. SS have never asked me for an id. since I joined them in 2007 and the other sites don't require one either.
