123RF / Re: 123rf reducing commissions
« on: April 05, 2018, 03:24 »
Is there a way to delete single images on 123RF but leave one to leave the account open? With obvious crooks (e.g., Depositphotos) I like to do that so that I at least have some form of record that they claim there are no more sales.

"Getty" and "fair" in the same sentence. Barf.

It's the logo for Imagine China a major photo agency which handles images for a host of other agencies. Google it and you will get a list of some of them (though I didn't see any micro sites listed). Hope that helps.

Awesome, thank you! Alamy is the likely one.

Image Sleuth / Does anybody recognize this Chinese watermark?
« on: April 01, 2018, 10:32 »
I keep seeing images of mine around the web, mostly on Chinese websites, with the watermark that is on all images on at this address: https://kknews.cc/history/8bj62jn.html

I can't read Chinese, so I am not sure what the two characters before the "IC" mean. Googling didn't help. Does anybody know what the source of that watermark is? The background is that I would like to find out whether this is actual theft or a Chinese partner agency of one of my agencies that does not report their sales...

Alamy.com / Re: What's happened?
« on: March 19, 2018, 05:01 »
Like every agency, Alamy has its own strengths. I have a lot of travel imagery and it is one of my most important sellers. Number two after Shutterstock in terms of revenue.

Cameras / Lenses / Re: Sony A7iii Striping Issue
« on: March 05, 2018, 09:06 »
For now I will give them the benefit of the doubt that this will be fixed in the final version.

Be that as it may, the entire gallery of sample images is almost comically terrible. I don't understand why Sony would shoot themselves in the foot like that. Those skin colors...

Alright, we all understand that (at least for RF) it is pretty much impossible to know whether a photo was licensed or stolen. However, OP wanted to know how to find publications in general, and I think that is a legitimate question.

I use Pixsy quite a bit. Their results are pretty good. But I am always open to suggestions for more options.

General - Stock Video / Re: Any ClipDealer contributors out there?
« on: February 14, 2018, 05:02 »
No worries, it doesn't matter - they don't actually pay out money they owe contributors anyway. Their contract says they pay out at the beginning of the month following a payout request, but I habe been waiting for more than 6 months now. They also don't answer emails related to payment.

Had one too. Looks like someone is buying large scale to make digital products for resale if you ask me...

How do you get 0%? I always have 4.72 taken off. Must be one of the perks of being Canadian.

It does indeed depend on the tax treaty with your country of residence.

Crestock still exists?!

ug ipad sucks at copy/paste

I don't know man - it somehow managed to transfer all formatting into your post. That's pretty impressive.

I really like Mircostockr Pro. One request though: Could you allow multiple accounts per agency? This is important for iStock/Getty now that my iStock account and my Getty account use different logins on the same system.

Alamy.com / Re: Collapse in sales
« on: May 10, 2017, 01:54 »
Alamy is actually one of the sites that have a nice steady flow of sales for me. There are entire months without them, but usually the next month makes up for it.

40
One other note: I had not yet reached the payout threshold, so no money was able to be taken. But payout will be available soon, so the thief was just waiting like a hawk to steal.

That's the good thing about Bigstock. It's really safe from these sort of attacks since it basically *never* reaches payout!

Alamy.com / Re: Images on sale with poor discoverability - Alamy
« on: February 08, 2017, 09:28 »
I can't believe they introduced "categories" now that the market has been trending towards getting rid of them for years... ugh.

Also, something is clearly bugged or not fully transparent - I have old  images that have 50 keywords, 10 boosted ones, categories and everything else and are still shown as "poor visibility".

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock Free Section?
« on: January 06, 2017, 04:28 »
There is no free section at Adobe Stock. If you submit your content through the portal your images will not be added to the Fotolia free section.

Mat

As always - responsive, helpful, and even the answer contributors want to hear. Talk about "working with professionals". Thanks Mat and Adobe/Fotolia for being different.

Lots of valid points but lots of oversimplifications. Simple "you cannots" or "you cans" in law are rare for a reason. Or, as any lawyer will tell you (no matter your question): "It depends."

Shutterstock.com / Re: November and December Drop in sales

My November was weak; December was BME due to several very high SODs. It's all coincidence, really.

Some actual answers to my questions might be nice.....

I understand they're not the answers you wanted to hear, but you should listen. They are the correct answers.

It's legalese for "our customers don't have to give you attribution when they use your video".

Nothing to see here, move right along...

Shutterstock.com / Re: Goodbye Shutterstock
« on: October 10, 2016, 03:18 »
Yeah Shutterstock seems to be in a free fall!

I usually don't bother commenting on the negative bs going on here, but.. really?! Shutterstock is not "in free fall". Contributor's individual earnings are under pressure because of the huge competition. Shutterstock itself is doing just fine.

Yes, you have to use ESP now and if you can't access account management from there you have to contact esp stills help, they fixed it for me in a couple of hours.

Oh? I thought ESP was just for submitting content, not for reports. I will check there. Thank you!

49
I logged in to contribute.getty.com on the 20th (when they usually do their report) and instead of the report got a message that they were having technical issues and that the report would be late. Now when I try to log in, it says "sorry, your account has been disabled". Is anybody else experiencing this?

Interestingly, sales are pretty good...  8)
