Anybody know if there's a procedure to disable your portfolio?
It seems somehow less emotionally impacting. "I'm not breaking up with you, it's just that we should maybe start seeing other people." 78

Their ridiculous payout tiers are an indication that they never intend to pay at a decent rate.
Compare this, for example to Fotolia, where you need 1000 dls to reach silver (I am not endorsing Fotolia, just pointing out they are more reasonable in this respect) 79
General Macrostock / Re: Photoshelter - US tax requirements for non-Americans« on: July 30, 2008, 00:50 »
yingyang0,
I stand corrected, and apologies if I offended you. You're right, too often people assume all citizens of a nation support the activities of the current administration. This applies to other countries as well, I suppose. 80

Litifeta, I agree with you regarding the downwards trend.
I'm just trying to get a more mathematically organized way of reaching the conclusion. 81

The upload component that Alamy uses sometimes acts buggy (missing buttons, etc..) I find that closing the web browser then restarting fixes it.

Some of the people currently or previously incarcerated in Cuba might have a different opinion. I am going to assume you are a US citizen. It's my opinion that Americans and Rest of the World (ROtW) have different views on US government activities. 83

If your portfolio is growing at a healthy rate, each month should theoretically bring improved sales. Every month should be a BME.
What's important is whether an increased portfolio brings proportionate extra income. As such, RPI is more important to measure "bang for buck". 85
Dreamstime.com / Re: DT become new SS ?« on: July 28, 2008, 05:09 »
Litifeta,
I think the column you have as RPI (Revenue per Image) is actually RPD (Revenue per Download). Are you copying straight from the DT control panel? RPI, which DT doesn't seem to calculate, can be figured out by dividing revenue for each month by your portfolio size for that month. Here's mine for comparison, and it does seem to indicate a downward trend (for me at least). RPI is in cents by the way, and embarassingly low.

Your pictures are nice, but you need a much larger portfolio if you want to earn more.

Whatever else rjmiz might be, he is entertaining. At least his random brainfarts get people talking. On the whole, he has been quite congenial, if sometimes incoherent What I took exception to was his calling another member a prostitute. Since Litifeta is a good sport and doesn't seem offended, who am I to act as protocol police? I will wait for the next rjmiz posting with in masochistic suspense. 90

rjmiz, I don't think I've been called a weenie head in 30 years. It feels kinda nice and nostalgic, like I'm back in kindergarten. I guess that's why we all love you, even when we're trying to chastise you for peeing all over the rug.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Would you sell your soul for fame? - WARNING...this is a MIZ posted thread« on: July 14, 2008, 12:24 »
I guess this establishes what rjmiz is. He's not a stock artist, columnist, or stand-up comic. He's an idol and a role model. He has his own fan club now. Good grief indeed. 92
General Stock Discussion / Re: Would you sell your soul for fame? - WARNING...this is a MIZ posted thread« on: July 14, 2008, 10:43 »
Sequence of events (in point form)
1. Litifeta expresses a preference for money over fame 2. This is an alien and horrifying concept for someone whose main motivation in life seems to be getting people to notice he exists 3. The obvious next logical step is to interpret this statement as a proclamation of prostitution and thus, call him a whore. The fact that what Litifeta said could possible be interpreted as some sort of statement about prostituting himself for money does not give you the right to call him a prostitute, even in jest. 93

General Stock Discussion / Re: Please Vote For My Model« on: July 06, 2008, 14:36 »
I really, really don't understand the level of unwarranted hostility in this thread.
Perhaps the original post could be viewed as "pimping"; perhaps the poster was less than perfectly politically correct. Much worse pimping, whoring, trolling, and attention-grabbing occurs here on a daily basis. btw, I don't personally know any of the individuals in this thread. I am not a supporter of anyone or an opponent of anyone, but really, one has to draw the line. When the usual clowns start biting visitors, it becomes less entertaining and more annoying. 96

Thanks for the link Bateleur. The prices on the website look a lot better than the shops in Geneva.
The shops here keep giving me sticker shock. The meat section at the supermarket is heart-attack inducing. 98

Hi Bateleur,
I am currently in Switzerland (Geneva). Everything seems very expensive, and the product choice is horrible. What's the best place to get equipment, online or offline? Thanks! |
