My sales are still around 40% down from a peak in mid march. My sales have increased on other sites.
I can see that they might be concerned about over supply of photos but wont people looking for new images go to the sites that allow more uploads? I think they will lose customers by restricting uploads and that will reduce demand for their images.

I don't understand why istock keep these low upload limits. For those just starting, 15 photos a week is often not enough. Someone with 1,000 great photos could take years to get them all online. istock are missing out on a lot of income. I am making more money some days with smaller sites because I have been able to upload more photos to them.
As Alamy has over 8 million photos, I don't believe in over supply being a problem. Designers seem to want as many photos as possible to choose from. istock may well lose their market leading position if they limit their growth like this.

I am sure others can do better than me I don't have any recognizable people photos. They seem to sell more than my photos. $60+ a month doesn't seem like a lot but it is over $700 a year for the same photos that sell on other sites. I hope that is a conservative estimate.

Do FT pay 50% for an exclusive image?

The sales are there. I average more than two $30 payouts a month. Not great but it all adds up in the long term. I now have a large portfolio with them but they sold more when they had 40 of my photos than 123rf and FP.

They are fast and they still spot errors with photos that some sites miss.

LOL, I have fat fingers and f is next to d. Have fixed it now. Thanks for your comments. I am impressed with other peoples comments. I like taking photos but struggle thinking of things to say about them.

I will go through all the links on this thread and give some positive comments. Please have a look at mine. Just uploaded a lot of my photos and had 3 sales yesterday. One of them was a $25 el http://www.luckyoliver.com/portfolio/K10436

I am not sure but don't you have to declare you are the photographer with some of the sites? Might be tricky if you are also in the photo? It is obviously not a rule they stick to, as I don't think that many people get to photograph the earth from space

I will wait for the new layout and TOS in April. Would be good to have a UK microstock site, so if the site is improved, I will be uploading.

They changed the best match again this month. I had lots of sales before the change, so this is my best month so far but sales have fallen off in the last 10 days. Had an EL today, so this is now by far my best month, even though my sales have fallen

Stockxpert is one of the newer sites and they have lots of sales. I think the time has come for LO to show us what they can do to attract buyers. There are other new sites starting up and the competition is going to be intense.
It takes time to upload to all these sites and those with low sales are going to struggle. I hope LO make it but I think they are going to have to push harder for new customers now, while they have the opportunity.

My sales have fallen a lot since they changed the Best Match search. I wonder if the increase in price might have reduced sales as well?
This is still my best month with istock but the last 10 days have been disappointing. I am having a best month on other sites, so it isn't a general slow down.

I want to do some travelling around the UK and will have to find a way to upload files. I have only ever used a cyber cafe once. Will I be able to upload files? The other option is to get a laptop and use wifi. I have looked at the cloud, www.thecloud.net but don't know if they are good or how I would connect. Anyone used a wifi connection while away from home?

SLOWER than DT? It must be a dead duck then......
Neither FT or DT are dead ducks. They both make money for me and I have sales with them most days. There are only two sites that sell significantly more, IS and SS. Sometimes a dead duck revives, if you feed it lots of good images

The site looks OK but I don't see any advantages over a site like featurepics. They accept 99.9% of my photos and pay me 70%. They let me set a price for each photo.
I couldn't see prices on the photos and I couldn't see any extended liscence information.

My sales for the past two days are below my sales for sunday, so I hope whatever they have done is going to be changed again soon. There are some horrible bungalows on my manhatten

StockXpert was doing well for me but my sales have deteriorated after they changed the default search to most popular. Hope they fix this soon, as there isn't much motivation to upload new photos when they are not being viewed.
I wonder if BigStock works best with new photos? I have uploaded over 1,000 photos recently and have had good sales.

Dreamstime has been the worst for me so far but that is probably because they rejected a lot of my photos and I am now very selective with my uploads. I am starting to get more downloads with them.
I am surprised that BigStock is the worst for so many people. They are now my third best site, behind SS and IS.

My Stepfather has some photos that he wants to give to me to sell on microstock sites. I have not uploaded them, as I am not the owner of the copyright. He would be willing to transfer the copyright to me but I have done a search and can't find a form that covers this.
I am in the UK and just wondered if anyone here has done this?
It might be easier if he started his own microstock business but he lives in mid Wales and has been told by BT that he will never get broadband. The phone lines there are so bad that it can take several hours to upload one file.

Just wanted to let you gyus know that we realize this new default ordering is not a viable long term strategy, so we will be changing it.
Any news on this? My sales have been up and down but the average is well below what I was used to. Hope the changes are made soon.

Thanks for that. Interesting that feature has been coming since May last year. I will email customer services, as I doubt the change will be implemented soon.

My sales are increasing with fotolia but the amount I make from them is less than StockXpert and bigstock. I hope they upgrade the site soon. Been reading about an upgrade for months now.
