Hi, Okay so $100 for CC2017 ...is that a year subscription? I assumed you were in the USA, but you might not be... In my case, I am so I have to those self employment taxes / estimate taxes that everybody loves, plus some local service tax, occupation tax... and that takes a chunk of whatever I make.... I'm assuming you grossed $16.71 per hour. How much of that went into expenses such adobe cloud subscription, computer/camera/ car mantenance and gas, model pay .. and most importantly after all the Taxes, accountant etc?
Just ran the numbers to see what I make per hour (full time is 2,080 hours per year). So taking $34,200 and divide by 2,080 hours comes out to $16.71 per hour. Goal is $20 per hour next year
for me in 2016 - no hardware purchases, no model fees (force my family do it for free), $100 for CC2017, no car fees since 95% plus is down in my home studio and I do my own taxes via turbo tax ($70).

I never heard of subject release either... this is not a standard term in the industry. It is either model release or property release. But the OP is with Dreamstime not Shutterstock. I searched Dreams for a "subject" release but couldn't find it. I saw his black and white drawings and is possible that previous Reviewers got approved without releases because they might thought some were drawn directly on photoshop or adobe illustrator. Usually anything that is scanned will request a property release...at least this is the case with Shutterstock and they are very strict about it. subject release is a new one, probably a non english speaker
I asked because I've never heard of or seen a subject release? Model release, property release, http://www.shutterstock.com/blog/contributor-resources/legal/stock-image-releases/

Did you mean a property release? But some microstock, like Shutterstock, requires that you provide a release form signed for physical paintings that were scanned, such as illustraitons, paintings and drawings that were not created in the computer. The property release is not for the North pole location, but is for your physical painting. DT says my DRAWING illustration of Santa Claus needs a subject release... Really? Are they kidding me?? Or maybe (even worse) they want a property release of his North Pole house in the drawing...
I resubmitted with to editor comment: "Santa Claus is a fictional character in public domain. Also I don't think I need a property release for his fictional north pole residence either... lol"
This made my day.

Here is the thing... To make some money on zazzle you have to create products that people out there would buy as gifts for someone... Here are their bestsellers: http://www.zazzle.com/bestsellers

Well for one, Zazzle did somethng about the spammers... they limited each designer to a total of 100K products....They hide the products that were not getting any views in a certain period of time...So, now, after some time if nobody sees a product it will hide itself from teh marketplace and wont show up in a search, and will only live in the shop store front...
And there were a lot of people who had way over 100K...but we were tired to see all the same exact design in seven different shades and a lot of junk stuff that no buyer is interesting in buying....
so there is defintelly opportunity.

Why do people always think that is so easy to open anything is easy???
There are already some great associations out there for designers, AIGA, GAG, and there are some for Photographers. There is the society of illustrators, and others...All kinds of established societies.
You go talk to them about micro stock.

Interesting app but... $19 sometime a month for a 5000 pictures? One bulk search a month..only one and no custom search. microstock doesn't pay that well guys...
Monitoring just for eyeballing is a waste of time and, monitoring with a purpose cost money because you have to take action.
Maybe this app will be good for legal departments in microstock agencies .. or large companies that have to defend their IP such as Disney or other brands.
Maybe even this app would make more sense with Right Managed images instead of roayalty free .. With rights managed you have to garantee that nobody is using the image for the same purpose...and it gets serious when it comes to advertising use where budgets are pretty high and where the money really is, and you could get sued by the advertising agency if you failed to protect your IP.
Sorry, can't spell today.

Can I upload only to Adobe and have it not appear on Fotolia? Or if I delete a file from Fotolia, does it automatically deletes from Fotolia?
I'm trying to understand how much one site mirrors another.
For instance, if I just want to upload files to Adobe, and not Fotolia, is that possible?

They have their own property release wich you have to fill in and sign and it seems they use for artwork.
Let's say you painted an watercolor, and it wasn't digital art, then they request property release...
I don't understand why a "digital watercolor" in photoshop only requires a sketch or reference to be uploaded and a real watercolor painting that you scan require that form to be filled and signed...
By the way not only have to be signed by you, but if Im' not mistaken it needs a witness to sign it as well...I can't remember it has been a long time since I checked.

Hi, When I first did the sync on the Adobe site it got all my information from Fotolia, including address, and tax info. I went to look at it now, and I see my illustrations are there, but on contributgor info, only my name is there...No address, no tax form....
Do i have to fill that in, I thought it came from Fotolia? I just don't want the 1099 to get messed up like what happened with 123 RF.

Approaching customers directly might be a violation of your contract with the microstock company. Contributors don't have access to customer information at all...
I would be offended as a customer, and I would contact the agency to complaint.
Contact the agency first and see what they have to say.
In any case, that's the nature of microstock, PODs...yeah we are the copyright owners and so on, but we also signed a contract with the agency.

I signed up and I think my account converted automatically, I can see the TAx form says updated already, so I guess I don't need to do anything....
if we upload to Adobe, does the image appears on Fotolia?

Same here.. I would love to "doorknock" my fellow hometown designers... but I think in the USA we would be arrested If we tried to knock on their foreheads.... There are NO designers in my hometown. Not one.

Honestly, this is not about any company in particular...
that's the nature of self-employment or contracted work.

Wow ... you're right on the money.... The whois search shows that the registar for this site is KOREA SERVER HOSTING and the company is based in Korea... whois.domaintools.com/creavorite.com Check it out. The Email sounds to me like a Chinese writer who has completed his formal 12 years schooling including English as a Second Language.
