Just saw a xsm sub level V pay $2, right above one that paid 0.35. Has something changed (in a good way) that I don't know about?
admin edit: changed the subject a bit to be more descriptive

Don't you love it when you find a store on Zazzle and 90% of their products are based on your stock photos? OMG, even they've even put one of my t-shirts in their store (legitimately I guess, it's still credited to me). Before I start reporting, do any sites allow POD without a special license that I am not aware of?

I was hit with two refund emails from DT, both for $6.24 - same subject, different composition. $12.48 is a pretty significant amount for DT so I combed through my sold files and have never sold a photo for this amount. There isn't a single sale for either photo in this exact amount.
Either (a) they made a mistake (I don't really expect DT to make mistakes, they seem to have their act together) or (b) they are subjecting me to currency fluctuations.
If they PAID me in $U.S. I don't really give a crap what the customer paid or was refunded in - am I not realistic in expecting them to debit me exactly what they paid me?
Or else do they possibly remove the sale from the list once it has been refunded = resulting in me not being able to find the sale?
Thanks!

Just wondering - I was asked to shoot another event and I haven't done one since I was with Smugmug - can a Symbiostock website handle massive uploads from an event? Was thinking to have the parents download a file rather than order prints. A soccer tournament may be 10K photos, a dance recital 1500. I would break them into separate galleries per game or routine etc.
I am at least 4 months behind the rest of you at this - can a customer buy more than one photo at a time now - or is each download a separate transaction?
Can you offer coupons/discounts that will expire to encourage downloading before they forget about it. (Ugh.... don't love events but could use the cash!)
Think this sounds possible? Boy it would be nice not to have to deal with a third party, wait for payment, pay commissions....

Hey Robert if you are out there this week, congrats on being selected as featured photog at DT. I hope it brings a great boost and new customers! I seem to have forgotten how to leave a comment at DT but I'm pretty sure everyone here will be thrilled to hear you have been recognised. You are a great member and mentor of this community.

Have there been any statements from Istock about the flooding Calgary? Any hiccups today? 100,000 have been evacuated in Calgary, especially from downtown and many communities without power. Looking at mapquest, (1240 20th Ave SE, Calgary AB I think is where they are) they look like they are at least 12 blocks from the Bow River - but how low is their land? I logged on for the first time in months, the website appears to be working. (Everything happens at Istock on Fridays doesn't it!)
Even row 10 of the Saddledome is under water! The poor people in Banff are landlocked, all the highways are washed out.

So, why does Lightroom introduce new software and the same day I have probs?
I have almost 500 photos on a card from a busy couple days doing sports team portraits. As I always do, I make a folder for each team and drag a copy of the files to that folder tp work from. I can see those files in PS, Bridge, Explorer.....
But Lightroom is telling me "no photos in this folder". UGHHH. So, now I'm working of the original file from the card, because LR can see them while still on the card. I even made new folders and started again to have the same issue.
Is this a problem anyone knows anything about? Any setting I may have changed or something they have had to fix? Thanks!

I have a website for my photography business that is a legitimate business with a license and tax numbers etc. (It would make sense for me to run stock photos through this business too so I don't have to register a new one yet) I have other domains and have been test building a SymStock site on one of them. My main site is a WordPress site, but after reading all the questions to the designer of the template it doesn't play nice with shopping carts and certain plugins. I don't really know what a subdomain is other than it would be www.pixartdesign.stockphotos.com (Maybe?). Now - can I make that subdomain a fully independent site? Can I install a new database and the SS theme independent of my main domain - or does everything run through that main template? Yes, I know next to nothing about this stuff.

I can't for the life of me find it. Do they purposely bury it so deep so you (or your attorney) can't refer to it?
AND - today is 30 days for me and 70 photos still on Thinkstock and Photos.com. Do I send take-down notices to them, or Istock? Do I send 70 notices or do I send all of the numbers in one. Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow they are gone and I won't have to worry about it. I just want them off those sites before the next PP cycle.

So... 112 pages of elephants on DT. When I narrow search down to "sitting elephant" why do I get weird results like this one... neither sitting nor elephant are even in the keywords? 70 adult bangs bell biting black bottoms brunette casual clenched close closeup concrete dancer dancing doll dollie fashion feathered female girl gothic grunge grungy hair happy industrial long model one only retro rose s seductive sexy smile teeth twenties up white woman young There aren't a lot of weird things in the search - but enough to be annoying.

I have two problems that are driving me mad and I when I try to search for answers I get everything BUT what I need. Hopefully I can explain so it makes sense and I will be forever grateful if someone can guide me.
Problem 1:
Whenever I open a new adjustment layer, it automatically opens as a clipping mask. I cannot find where I go (likely preferences - but I can't find it in there!) to turn it back so that the adjustment will be made to the entire layer every time and I can add a clipping mask if I want to!
Problem 2
If I use the black or grey eyedropper the entire layer turns pure white. (i.e. in curves or levels) The white eyedropper seems to work okay! If I use the "auto" button the entire layer turns pure white.
This has been going on for several weeks.... I think maybe when I was taking some Martin Perhiniak (sp?) PS tutorials I followed his instructions to make basic changes - but these two issues are driving me nuts!
Thanks thanks thanks! Hopefully this is easy for someone!

When I am in my portfolio and hover over a photo I see a star and the option to add a photo to favorites. Have I really been on this site all these years and just noticed now or are they introducing something new? Does it work like 123's faves? I can't find any info like how many can be faved etc...

http://www.digimarc.com/Digimarc for Images allows you to embed imperceptible, persistent digital watermarks into your images to communicate ownership and other information wherever the images travel across the Internet. According to them, they can run a scan of the Internet and find your photos wherever they appear. (I was wondering if anyone could still track our images in the free Google program). This product has been offered with Photoshop for at least 10 years but the first time I looked there was an additional cost and I didn't buy into the idea. Now, I'm wondering if it is an application that we can use? I even tried to phone them to ask a few questions but when I asked for the operator it took me to a mailbox (I've got a serious issue with this point and it has already lowered my impression of them). -If you use this embedded watermark can you submit these photos to agencies? (Presumably no one can remove.) It looks like Corbis may already use it: Many companies and organizations, including Corbis, Microsoft, the Smithsonian Institution, Sony and others rely on Digimarc for Images to communicate ownership of their content, find where their images are being used online, and provide valuable business intelligence regarding their digital image assets. Now, by adding LicenseStream, you can effectively monetize your images with automated licensing, royalty settlement and renewals. On page 5 of their best practices guide they state that it works best when images are not comprised of a single flat colour (like a white washing machine against a white wall). Would this not actually alter the appearance of a photo like a watermark we are accustomed to? For those of us who have or are thinking about starting their own stock site it may be something worth looking at. Anyone done any research on these guys? Here is their PDF "Best Practices Guide" http://www.digimarc.com/docs/digimarc-for-images-resources/digimarc-for-images-digital-watermarking-best-practices-guide.pdf?sfvrsn=2

Or do I really have to go back to each month from 2007-today and delete photos one by one?
It is Dec 31 after all!

My royalties are sitting at 15%. Don't know how long it's been dropped to the bottom, it shows that I've got 0 credits earned. I noticed sales have not been reporting but have had downloads recording - but I wonder at what rate?
Man, this site is so messed up.

I havent been in the forum too much lately so I hope this hasn't been posted yet - these guys are pretty entertaining as they compare two cameras. If it's too long you can skip to about 7 min mark to see what real people think about the prints coming out of an iPhone 5 vs Hassleblad.
