Kudos to Adobe stock
They raised contributers royalties and gave out free software for a year to those who qualified ( and the terms were very reasonable!)
The only MS site I know of that went opposite of slashing and hacking away whatever is left for contributers in this industry these days

That is a super lazy excuse. They should investigate that no matter who reports it. They obviously don't value their contributors. What kind of a message do they send us? That thieves and criminals are also welcome. That they don't care as long as they make money. I am going to report that guy. No matter what the reply. We have to.
Youre absolutely correct. They dont care. They get the assets for nothing. They havent spent the time to create them, process, keyword and upload them. What does it matter when all you do is collect the money from sales? We take infringement seriously Empty words, thats all.

If only there was a way to avoid this when selling photos online. I can see how that could easily happen to everyone of us and there is nothing you can do about it.
It isnt stealing if a person willingly enters into a contract (addressed to noodles comment). If that person chooses not to read the terms, thats not on the agency. He still had to click an agree button (I think...its been about 14 years since I signed with SS) There is a way to avoid this happening...do not sell on microstock! Stick to traditional stock agencies. But does selling an image to a major company and getting peanuts suck? Yes indeed.
Thats why I dubbed it legal stealing. Of course everything is legal the way its carried out, and the image owner is culpable for entering into that agreement. But make no mistake that big business operates on the thin end of the wedge, and as for ss we are not privy to all the details in their licences offerings and royalty splits with contributers. As you said, the way to absolutely avoid this is simply not submit your content. Ps. I found it interesting that Walmart tried to reach out to him. They plan to give him a $50 gift certificate? His video is not going to help Walmart dispel the picture of greedy corporate America anytime soon either

Alamay is able to do this because most of their content is non exclusive. Very little risk to their new revenue goals but a positive message they can send all while not really changing a thing on the pay cut.
The contributers who are already exclusive there, dont know what they might be missing from posting images to other sites. So its awash for them, status quo. Probably the vast majority of others who are on other sites they will take the 10 % less and stay everywhere. The numbers here no doubt played a key part in Alamy coming to this compromise

Some agencies who earn much, much less than AS/FL should follow this example.
It would be good if DT followed this model. Over there, some people have to wait for an eternity to receive a payout.
Yes, with the number of sales they generate, its insane to have a $100 payout threshold Old school thinking and not willing to adapt have made this once decent agency into another Garbo earner

We have had 3 long phone calls with them, and still Chad Bridwell keeps sending mails, like he has no clue what's going on.
I would urge people to NOT join them. They are only trying to dump market prices, and thats one thing we should not support. When we stand united we have so much leverage it's unbelievable.
Like when Deposit tried to dump prices, and at the same time didn't answer mails and calls. Over night a lot of the best photographers pulled down their portfolios, and Deposits market quality wise was cut in half.
Didn't someone say in another thread that OnePixel denied on the phone that Chad was even involved anymore? Yet emails are being sent from him? Another very bad sign with regards to honesty/ transparency (not surprising though, didn't Chad try to claim DPC was a third party partner site with no direct connection or something back in the day?) ...
Also, I think maybe we are giving too much oxygen to what is just another tadpole site trying to exploit our work. It's transparently terrible and we should just let it die. We are only talking about it so much because some of the people with the worst reputations in MS are involved. I'm going to try and not comment again unless they come in with another sales pitch.

Alamy is a privately owned company
Look at how many shares the directors have and they huge profits they end up with each year, and growing btw.
Now they are going to screw all their contributors, and in another few years will screw they again.
They will do this indefinitely or as long as contributors are willing to upload or leave their images there.
This was one of a couple agencies I thought stood apart in treating their contributors fairly.
They have taken the piss

I don't disagree really I just never thought agencies were here to make us richer that's just a by product. Income reducing overall is simply a function of over supply.
Yeah, it's not all that big of a deal because the trend in microstock hasn't been good regardless of what Alamy does. It's just kind of funny when I did the math that it seems like the 10% royalty drop means I have to sell roughly 25% more to make the same amount of money. Seems like a lot of pressure for success on my end. I'm not necessarily expecting big things, but I'm probably jaded anyway. 
Its not really a 10% drop in royalty. Its a 20% drop I.e. if you sell a license now for $100 your cut is $50 (50%) If you sell that same $100 licence your cut is going to be $40 a difference of $10 $10 of $50 is 20%

They make a super long video of drivel, who will actually watch this?? This is totally unacceptable. They give students 100% commissions so we are now paying for them. They do charity, we pay. Sure charity is lovely but don't do it at our expense.
Who would do charity for abused photographers??

Charity structured so that they dont pay, or pay minimum income taxes on profits. They are a smart bunch, not like us poor sods who put our time/money into new equipment and courses to improve. Jokes on us.

Deleting images will have a detrimental effect on your Acceptance rate, just something to think about before you press delete.
yes but didnt you read? he put ed files.adobe doesnt do ed for now.what if he sells a file for commercial use and there are recognizable logos on buildings or cars, or trade marks or people?
Or it gets rejected for being non compliant - youre neither here nor there for acceptance rate
