General Stock Discussion / Re: New FREE Stock Selling Course
« on: November 04, 2018, 10:35 »
When I hear the word free, I immediately think you get what you pay for

Then you must never visit any YouTube videos to learn how to accomplish anything?

Platitudes like that are nice sound bites, but don't hold up in the real world. Lots of people put up very high quality free material on the web.  Sometimes it "paid for" by having ads alongside.  Other times, it is used to show people what a good instructor the person is, encouraging you to them buy lessons that are not free (I have spend thousands of dollars that way over the years).

If you don't want to watch this, that is completely fine and your choice.  You may want to rethink your knee-jerk reaction to the word 'free' though...

Pretty aggressive defensive position for someone who has not watched the video themselves
I suppose my view can be labelled a knee jerk reaction, but is yours any different?

Good for you telling them as it is
We can only hope that these rip off sites go down and out of business and hope that the likes of Adobe for RF  and other fair RM agencies find increasing sales

I have all in all spent over 35 grand on all kinds of video equipment and thats apart from the Black-Magic recorder itself, the only one thing that pay are production companies NOT any Micro and NOT Getty or any other stock-agency!...the all get peanuts and cents!....now if you can work your way into various large Prod-companies then its worth it but for stock-agencies, forget it!!

although a Gimble is of course worth it for yourself so buy it! it does help a lot!

Sorry for being a bit negative but thats the way it is!

Why do you come to a micro site to tell us how good you are other places, and how terrible micro is. Then complain about caps and searches on micro, how terrible your earnings are. Don't you have your secret forum to make fun of us. Doesn't make sense.

Its called malignant narcism

I don't think you need worry, the picture was clearly purchased correctly because you are credited in the text below the picture, this would be absent if it had been purchased illegally. Looking at the other pictures most of them are credited Shutterstock images so I am certain it is a genuine purchase. Well done!

That is a terrible answer.

Agreed
That is the most non sensical answer ever.

General Photography Discussion / Re: What sold at weekends?
« on: September 23, 2018, 12:34 »
First, you're not thinking globally and the agencies are (more or less) global in their sales. Friday in the US is Saturday in Australia for example. Generally, in my experience, Saturday in the US is the worst day of the 7 as it's a day off for most people that day.

I assume you're thinking about consumer uses of stock versus business uses, but I haven't seen any content differences, just volume ones. That's probably going to vary depending on portfolios.

But even if you could get an answer to this question, what use would it be?

Who are you to tell me that I'm not thinking globally? Do you know me? Do you know how much it's my effort in stock market photography?

If you judged me by my portfolio, sorry to disappoint you but you are completely wrong about me!

Relax
Read the reply and take it for what its worth for its information
No need to take it personally

Alamy.com / Re: Almay Sale for $1.25
« on: September 20, 2018, 17:10 »
Ive had some very low sales recently, although none below $2, but also very often they are nicely offset by $10, $50 or more sales, so in the end Alamy is one of the best agencies I think, and as long as they continue to be fair with contributors, I will be happy to continue uploading there.

Laws for drones are necessary nowadays, seeing how an average person can afford them, and there are always those who, for lack of common sense, fly it in areas where there pose a threat I.e. near airports or flight paths, over crowds, etc

VideoBlocks / Re: Commission cut
« on: July 16, 2018, 16:54 »
Thats a nasty slash
I will see if sales are positively impacted, although these kind of moves never work out
If no improvement is sales occurs by autumn, I will probably pull the port, as I do not want to support any business that introduces this kind of negative disruption

173
Newbie Discussion / Re: Ask about payment at Alamy
« on: July 02, 2018, 13:52 »
With Alamy it may take up to 90 days for the sales to clear and be eligible for payout.
If yo have cleared sales of $50 or more at the end of any given month, you will be paid automatically by the middle of the following month into whatever payment process you have set up

174
SODs are rare and theyre usually a pittance
However this month and last I had a couple of fairly good SODs, but that is very rare for me
