I tried this and I really like it on my Nikon. Not switching between AF-S and AF-C, I keep it always on AF-C, it makes both. And a3 is set to 3D mode. Only one button have to use all kind of focus situations, AF-ON.

Firstly I shoot raw...

I shoot a picture with a x-rite some where middle in shooting session, shoot with the colorchecker and bw-side.

Sometimes I make new profile by a Colorchecker Passport program and I use it in Lr and Ps. But many times I use some older profile. This profiling system is  magnificent, without it raw images can include many problems, tiny problems like a banding or colors are too bright or dim.

And, if I want use wb of colorchecker image, it's easy. I set wb by colorchecker image and copy this setting to others images.

I dont use the Colorcherker wb side to set camera's wb. I shoot with whatever, sun, auto, flash.. with a best for situation. That's nice in raw!

And.. my english is not good :)

A guess, if it's like old tube television, too short shutter time?

I have one little set of images, DT reject most of them and it's nice to see that they are one best selling images in SS and FT :) DT rejected.. there was too narrow sharpen areas.. or focus was not where they like.. but it is right there where I and some customers like it ;)

At the beginning theirs description politics was a little tricky for me.. but now I handle it quite well. Not so many rejects any more.

Thanks, many good ideas and points.

At a moment IS take so much time to upload, slow uploading system, it is it the week limit.

And keywording, I keywording my images twice. The images for homeland and images for English stocks. But English keywords are not good for IS, only for others stocks they works fine. This IS's tricky keywording system, every f.. image must keywording over again, double check and double check.. and always there is something wrong :) It makes automatic mistakes.. a little uneasy for me. Most image rejections be based on keywording.

I keep it in my last stock to ride, no stress, no pain :)

iStockPhoto.com / iStock income versus Shutterstock
« on: May 18, 2012, 08:09 »
Hi!

I have images right now on about 15 stocks, but not in iStock. There is only a few images because theirs keywording system and model release rules are deep from there..  from dark place.

I am thinking at I am not upload nothing to iStock in future, it takes so much at time to get accept even for one image. Time is money too..

But how much incomes I can lose if I don't upload for iStock. Forum's statistics say that iStock income is about 67% from Shutterstock. But, is this 67 versus 100 how correct value if you have same amount of images on both stocks?

Assets.

Thank you.. now I know what it mean in Finnish :)

Of course assets is important too, but my original topic concentrate more to profit and loss account, and only to part of that.

assets.
Would you open this word for me: assets
My English :) I check out dictionary, but I am not sure what you mean precisely.

210
everybody forgets assets.
They always do.

No ;)

Selling
- variable cost (my interest is here now)
= Sales margin
- fixed cost (of course this is there also)
= Profit

Variable: all costs which be based on shoot session
Fixed: Stable costs, cameras and etc..

It depends on the agency. Shutterstock is the best one for first months ... then for the second month other agencies even it out so actually for me it is equal and grows slightly until month 6, from then on it depends how many images from a specific shoot made enough downloads to keep popularity and keep growing ....

It all comes down to www.stockperformer.com jeje you should sign up and it will tell you everything you need to know from your portfolio :p It is incredibly helpful!

That I assumed during my short selling experience out of my homeland.

Thanks.. stockperformer.. right now I handle my self.. but nice to know, maybe in future!

This is what I am talking about, variable costs. If you shoot, there is costs, if you  don't shoot there's not any costs.

RPI - CPI (variable costs) = like sales margin, "bread money" :)

Andresr, obviously you shoot great stuff, I think that you have excellent RPI. But that's it what I am thinking, how long time it takes get money back and after that make more money. Of course important is also images.. what it is.. images "lifetime". How many month or years images can make money.

General Stock Discussion / Cost Per Image, just like RPI
« on: May 14, 2012, 11:08 »
Hi people! Have you ever counted costs per image, just like RPI? Maybe there is something like:

- studio cost
- model cost
- keywording cost
- etc.

Especially I am thinking about these model costs.. how you count them.. CPI (cost per image) and so. For example you shoot during one day, lets say 1000 shot and you can use 100 of them. You pay something for model/models. That kind of counting I mean. Or any case, do you count anything like this "CPI"?

BTW, my English is that it is :)

My prediction seems to be true, he teach his own photographer army who shoot for him. High-quality images will be available for customers at a good rate. He is a very wise man :)

Easy.  Search Denmark agencies.  Find agent.  Email agent requesting contact with model.  Or something.  I doubt there was any nefarious 'dragon tatoo' sneakiness.

My english is not very good.. but anyway..

I tested this.. if you know the face.. it's not hard to find a model and take contact him.. little google and that's all. I found Jespers agent and contact very fast..
