Just went onto the keywording tool at acurs.com and Firefox is blocking it as an "Attack Site".

Wonder why?

General Stock Discussion / 3D Studio Email..Contributor Updates
« on: November 02, 2009, 22:52 »
Got this today...

We are sending you this email because you are selling Stock Images at The3dStudio.com and we are upgrading our site to offer more services to our contributors and customers. We have two important items to mention, please read this entire email!

400 pixel size announced

One of the most commonly requested items we get from customers is for a smaller image size so we are introducing a 400 pixel size starting with all images that are being added from November 2nd and on. The minimum (and suggested) price for this new X-Small size is $2.00 USD.

This should prove to be a very popular size and will give The3dStudio.com an edge as we ramp up our Stock Image business since customers can now buy a single image for $2.00 on our site. No goofy credits and no subscriptions needed!

All images that were added before November 2nd will AUTOMATICALLY be upgraded to this new size over the new few days. If you prefer to NOT sell your images added before 11/2/2009 at this new size then please contact us by replying to this email. By default, we will set the X-Small price to of the Medium price you have for each image.

Extended License option released

The second most popular request we get from customers is for an Extended License option that goes beyond the standard Royalty Free license we offer. So, we just released an Extended License option for all images being added from November 2nd and on.

Our Extended License is designed to give customers more options at a premium price. No more confusing licensing choices for the customer to pick as one Extended License fits all at The3dStudio.com.

With an Extended License the buyer may:

+ Use the image in print or electronically an unlimited amount of times.

+ Use the image in a physical item for resale or other consideration. i.e. photo used on a t-shirt, calendar, or greeting card for sale.

+ Use the image electronically in website templates, document templates, software products, wallpapers, screensavers, e-cards or similar products with no limitations regarding the number of copies and/or number of times image is seen.

All images that were added before November 2nd will AUTOMATICALLY be upgraded to this new Extended License over the new few days. If you prefer to NOT sell your images added before 11/2/2009 under this new Extended License then please contact us by replying to this email and we will not upgrade your products to the new Extended License. By default, we will set the Extended License price to $250.00 USD. The Extended License is optional on all newly added images as well, so you can decide if you want to offer this Extended License or not for each image you sell.

Thank you,
Matt Anderson - President

Ok. Here are the Stats from Google Analytics. I would Post Products on Facebook and MySpace and Show and Tell Forum of Zazzle. I would do the same thing with the Squidoo "Lenses". I made 4 Lenses so far.

From what I see...it helps more than promoting on Facebook and Myspace. I have only had 1 sale of Stickers so far.

I do not know about the aol and google mail referrals either.

General Stock Discussion / SS and BS...hmmmm
« on: October 22, 2009, 19:08 »
I just had BS reject some Photos that SS accepted. Should I just reupload with the note that Shutterstock accepted these. Kinda like saying..."your Boss liked them so why dont you?" type thing.  ;D

General Stock Discussion / Images in Movie "Trick r Treat"
« on: September 28, 2009, 16:25 »
I was watching a dvd today, Trick r Treat, and saw in the credits that images were from Gettys and Corbis. I dont know where they were used or anything. Might watch it again to see if I can spot any. So if you contribute to them...maybe one of yours were used.

Good movie in my opinion also.

Illustration - General / Fractals for Micros
« on: July 19, 2009, 15:34 »
I am guessing this would be the right section for this.

I am starting to play around with a fractal program and I know I have seen these up on SS. I was just wondering if anyone here does these and do they sell at all?

Might be kinda strange for me to write a description and keyword something like this but if I do one I like...might try putting it up on SS.

General Stock Discussion / Last minute buys
« on: July 02, 2009, 06:43 »
I guess since it's coming down to the wire but my 4th of July Illustration is getting last minute sales especially on BS. I thought you mainly wanted seasonal stuff a few months ahead so the designers have time to make and print whatever. Oh well, not complaining.

Shutterstock.com / On the Red Carpet Program
« on: June 21, 2009, 11:57 »
Has anyone here used this Program? Its the one where they try to get you a Press Pass or All Access Pass for an event you want to shoot. Sounds interesting. Just got to wait for some big event to come around here.

Dreamstime.com / Backed up? Long review waits.
« on: June 15, 2009, 16:09 »
Just wondering if the Reviewers are getting swamped. My uploads today are pending wait times of 92 hours. Only there for about 6 months but I have not seen that long of a wait until now.

Alamy.com / Keywording is a little confusing to me
« on: June 03, 2009, 11:28 »
I have looked at their Keywording explanation page and I guess I am just used to the Micros way of placing them in one box. 2 Boxes for Descriptions.. I kinda got that. How to you break down the keywording into 3 different categories? I need a little help in this part.

Can anyone break it down for me or link me to a page that breaks it down a little better than Alamy?

Alamy.com / Question about begining on Alamy
« on: May 26, 2009, 21:09 »
I have signed up and now I am looking at the QC portion with the 4 test shots. What are they looking at for the testers? Quality. Saleability? Composition?

I basically going to keep images that I shoot for them separate from stuff I shoot for Micro. I want to expand my horizons without getting rid of what I am trying to do already.

I have read through this section on here so I see all the great info on up sizing and other things so more for me to absorb and learn.

On a Forum I go to, a guy posted info about Micro Sites. Well, of course you got the killjoy who comes in and is all against it.

So My question is.. what would you say to a Person who states..

"I'm sorry, but there is nowhere that you can make 'money' with microstock

All you are doing it selling your work for a pittance and in the process lowing the value of photography in every other field.

If your photographs are good enough to sell, then you should sell them for the proper value and not like this."

I just made a Simple reply because past experience is it would be falling on deaf ears anyways... My Reply..

"Sell 50 Photos at $1000 or 1000 Photos at $50. If your happy at the way you make your money... Go For It.

No Matter which way you sell (Micro or Macro or Wedding or Auto.. ect.) there will be those who don't like the way your doing it.

Fen.. why don't you start a thread about Macro's to share your info? This section is about sharing knowledge on how to make money. I would love to know more about the Macros and what styles would work with them."

So..what would you say to him?

I am not a well off Yuri but on his Studio Tour he shows the Fake money (He could probably have enough for the real money shoots). So that has me wondering. Where do you get the Fake stuff? Maybe one sided templates of American and Euros that you can print out. I did try a Google search but only found one thing for American but "Fake" lettering over it would make it useless for the Shot.

PicNiche Toolbar / If you use Firefox Browser... try PicNiche
« on: April 28, 2009, 21:13 »
You might have a look at this Plug-in for it. Looks promising.

http://www.picniche.com/

This is my first post here so I figured I would add something hopefully useful instead of just hi.

Yes, I downloaded it but just got to play and configure it out.  ;)
