SVG format - That's a scale issue. At this stage too few sites support it to make it effective though we've looked into it. You could always use iSyndica for all non SVG uploads and do EPS or Raster submissions via iSyndica  Thanks for the feedback

Hello and Greetings.
I would like to know what is the best size and resolution for submitting stock image's? I have been setting my image's at 2400x3000 @ 300 DPI for selling on Red Bubble and Fine Art America. Is this a good size and what else is should I look for when submitting images to stock company's?
While 4MP is the the *advertised* minimum I'd suggest 5+ MP for your images. Also, while Phil recommends submitting images as large as possible, you might want to limit where you submit those. Some agencies should probably not get your highest-res images. PS: great nickname btw

Hello Everyone I wanted to extend a big thank you to all of you on Microstockgroup. Many of you are now our users, while others have decided to pass but nonetheless provided great feedback. I'm not sure. I've seen people say they use it for vectors, but when I looked at it, it was missing some things that I do in my work flow. So, I didn't pursue it further. I would like to optimize my process, so I'm curious what other people's opinions are.

I just signed , I have to say I like isyndica
I think an option to also manually set what images are uploaded where would be more than helpful , and make things easier.
You can do this actually - when you select an image/channel combination, a small pop up on the lower right of your screen will ask you if you want to mark the image as Uploaded to Agency/Accepted by agency/Rejected by agency Hope this helps

I don't know why Shutterstock earnings, at least the daily total, can't be represented in the analytics display, a simple plugin ( an excellent) like picniche does it!
I think the prices are ok for pictures but really high for video: 10 cents for uploading a video at only one site is expensive and the space storage is actually ridiculous: 20Gb for 10$ per month and you rapidly need to buy credits if you intend to upload more than 10 video per month!!
I think the storage space must be at least x2 or x3 for the same price and the uploading credits for video 5$.

Vista and windows 7 offer so-called Compatibility modes which enables the Operating System to change the executable to work on the machine.
Right click on the executable: Properties: Compatibility: Run as ....

I've been using Windows 7 since February (beta version). It was working better (much) than Windows Vista already. That's how much of an improvement it is. I then tried the Release candidate and it worked well but was slowed down by the upgrade process (I should have done a clean install).
I recently installed the final version and it's just spiffy and great. Finally worth the upgrade. And the software are finally becoming windows 7 compatible. I had a beta version of Kaspersky for a while and there were some quirks. The new one runs smoothly.
Sharpshot: Your issue sounds strange. What folders cause you this problem?

Update: Almost 2 hours I've started uploading six pictures to 10 sites and 123rf, shutterstock, stockxpert and fotolia are freeze, I have enough credits remaining, so it's a system malfunction.

And as shared recently, yes you can buy pay-as-you go credits in packages of varying sizes.

We are thinking of inviting photo retouchers/editors to help us prepare pictures from our quite big back-log for sending to microstocks. We end up having very little time recently to devote to those image adjustments, but we'd still like to get some use of our images, which keep growing in quantity much faster than we can handle them... So, we decided to outsource part of the process.
In short, we are going to provide pre-selected (only images we consider worth sending to microstocks) unedited RAW (Nikon NEF) files. We expect to get back our images decently adjusted to micro stock quality standards (levels, wb, color tweakings, some minor retouching like dust spots and logos, etc) with the Meta Data (name, description, keywords) filled in. We'd like to get back layered Psd files, so that we could perform some minor fine-tunings if we feel the need to. Conversion to Jpeg and sending to microstocks remains on our side.
I would like to get advice from those who has experience with such a practice on the following points:
- What's the decent price on per-image basis for such manipulations?
- Are there any tools (online or software) which may help simplify the process of sharing input files and results? Or just regular FTP is normally used?
We would be grateful for your feedback.

This actually exists....Topcoder.com is one of them. Eastern europeans are very strong by the way (estonians particularly). There are others out there. There's even molecule synthesis crowdsourcing. If your method works and is the best, you get the money but transfer all the IP (to a big pharma typically). If it doesn't win...you've wasted a lot of time in your mini lab. Hugo Now imagine that the software industry worked like microstock.
- You can never contact an actual customer.
- 4 big agencies control the business and you have to be 'approved' based on sample code.
- Customers submit their 'requirements' to an agency.
- 40,000 programmers upload code that they hope meets some customers's needs.
- If your code gets bought you get one dollar.
A more inefficient system could not be imagined.

JFYI:
The only secure page on iSyndica is their login. All other site credentials are taken over open channels.
For me it means "We care about our security. Yours? Your problem". Honestly, I'd never trust somebody with such attitude, even if surface manifestation of this attitude will be fixed.
I am wondering, is it enough for the site to say "All sensitive information is recorded through secured SSL communication and dual-encrypted in our database" for people to give it complete trust?
This was an unfortunate error on our side. We have just released our latest update today and you will notice that SSL encryption is now provided on the page for channel credentials. It was incorporated before, but felt through with the previous release.

Maybe we should talk with Isydica to see if they can add an API, as it would add value to thier product, the assets and all the metadata are sitting on thier server, they have the skills to bring a service online quickly, and they likely have thumbnails already produced.
So a joint venture to create a merchant API which delivered the images from many artists direct to the buyers only in websizes would be a tool worth thinking about.
And any input required from photographers would be easy to get, free to contact me if you want to discuss any ideas.

I ftp to several local printers, it looks like Isyndica doesn't work outside of their agency list. Although it looks fantastic, I'm not a huge uploader so $9.95 per month vs free doesn't make sense right now (especially when FT is going to reject everything I send anyway  ). Somtimes though I say, man oh man I should just shoot stock for a living and give up this chasing invoices and wiping little soccer star's noses. If that day comes, I would go for Isyndica!

Actually: iSyndica supports FTP so you can connect directly to your local printers. You mention $9.95 but there is a free subscription (pay as you go) and a $4.99/month. Feel free to message me if you have any questions and I can help you get setup.

Thanks nialat. I see that SmartFTP is only $36.95 though, so that is almost free. Uploading to more than one site at at time is a great feature.

iSyndica ran a great update today. We've added a few things to make it easier. So let's begin: - Third party login: You can now use your Twitter, Flickr, Yahoo, Facebook, AOL and Google User ID to log into iSyndica. No personal info required - just pick a username and register. - Paypal support: A lot of people didn't like that we were using only Amazon's payment system. We have added Paypal which you can now use to pay for credits or subscriptions - Illustrations/Vector: We have added a new category (on top of stock photos and stock videos) which is illustrations for all the vector artists out there. I have been banging on for the last few weeks about the lack of image availability for Bloggers, well today I found a link to a WordPress plug-in to deliver Fotolia images direct to the browser, insert or download, it is likely an affiliates service.
This is just the sort of service I was writing about, I was going to have a go at developing something next year, with a big difference as it would deliver from the photographers web space not an agency, a 'true merchant service with 10% - 15% for the service, 5% to the affiliate and 80% - 90% direct to the artist at the time of transaction' and I still might try it yet, but it will be interesting to see how this one goes.

If photographers really want a bigger percentage then the way to do it is to stop complaining and think differently uploading is not free and are you prepared to cover some of the online costs and do some marketing, then you could look at a 80% - 90% return via a true merchant that just facilitates the transaction.

Fotoglif was launched in July to do this. However, they pick most of their images from large agencies.
