It is ennoying that the delay given is not respected, if it is 15 days why do they not write 15 days ? , I need this transfert to myself pay someone waiting and I have been given myself the delay that is indicated at stockexpert....very ennnoying indeed.... jean

As non exclusive it is my advantage to make you think it is not the case.... anyway who knows.... jean

I've also been researching exclusivity at IS.
Most of the IS exclusivity threads indicate that new exclusives see a 25%-100% immediate increase in earnings due to higher commission, better search placement, higher upload limits, and faster reviews. A small percentage haven't seen any increase or saw a decline. What will you see? Who knows.
SS seems to like persistence. Sometimes it takes 3-4 tries to get in. They are my top earner, with IS as a close 2nd. But I've also noticied you need to keep feeding SS new stuff to maintain higher earnings otherwise they start to drop off a bit. If I stopped uploading to all sites for a month, I have no doubt IS would take over as my top earner.
I guess it comes down to risk vs reward. What do you risk by using one site over many?
better search placement? I dont think so, the best match has to my opinion nothing to do with exclusivity at IS,, it is not the interest of the client. However nobody knows for sure of course.... As to become exclusive, I have been thinking doing t my self. IS has always been where I got the highest earnings (have about 2700 pictures there as well as ST, FT, DT), however they are very unconsistans, and the situtaion is changing very much, believe me or not over the last 6 weeeks, Fotolia is the best to me ! and this has never happend before, there are oviously things changing in the business, I would be more cautious than ever before making such decision. But to be honest I regularely consider it , but so far it wounldt be a good business to me. jean

I discovered recently http://mp.photoshelter.com/indexa quite new traditional library (not micro) and have now started to submit there. I came to ask myself what best strategy for the submission as beside all the microstock I also contribute to Alamy. Up to now I have been keeping some pictures for RM at alamy and all other for micro as RF. I also have send few of those as RF at alamy, but I was told this was probably a wrong strategy so I will probably not continue to sell the same pictures as RF at micro and in the same time alamy. But my question now is should I send the same pictures for RM at alamy and photoshelter? I intend to do so unless there is a good reason not to do so. Thanks for sharing any view on this topic, jean

Hatman I dont know why you can be so sure, he want the pictures for free, but the best is to ask him dont you think so? Moreover I think one should not judge a request from the country where it is sent.... If you get the payment via paypal there is no problem. As to the protection of course there is a risk, this risk you will have anyway even when selling on micro, it is your decision if you want to have this extra money accepting maybe a sligtly higher risk..... jean Read the bloke's enquiry again: "since I'm not dealing with photos but need some really good one for my starting enterprise in Hungary..."
He's starting an enterprise in an Eastern European country. He's short of cash and wants you to supply the pics free.
Pretty obvious really.
Please report him to iStock support - it simply isn't right for him to send a site mail trying to avoid payment through the iStock system.

Thanks for the comments, the watermarks are there now....it was much easier than I thought...by the way, the whole concept is from IFP3 http://www.ifp3.com/which I can only recommand if you need to build such a site , easy, and simple , very effective and friendly help.... jean

Thanks Diego, there are some technical reason why they have no water mark. But as it is programmed with flash one shouldnt be able to copy them. jean

With the contribution of few of you here I have launched http://www.energypicturesonline.com/a library dedicated to energy & environment. I'm still in the launching phase, busy with expanding the library and finding client in the same time, which is not easy.... If you have relevant pictures and want to join the adventure, let me know what you have. Preferably bulk of 50 pictures minimum. I'm presently interested in industrial use and especially of pictures taken inside industrial plants related or using energy. I also need nice lightnings pictures... have a look and if you can contribute, contact me at [email protected]jean

Jan ; I have about 300 pictures at alamy, I started there about 1 year ago and had up to now only non RF pictures that I had exclusively there. I have sold one so far.... Now I will try some RF pictures that are on micro, this might not be wise, but on the other hand I cant shoot exclusive pictures for alamy if those are not selling. I'll also try different pictures that I try to sell either RF or other licence, but I'm curious to hear about the best strategy. By the way you probably noticed there is a forum there and this question is quite often discussed, jean

I have been payed now and I'm faulty not having given the right email adress, so I apologize. BigStock people have not reacted very swiftlyt to my questions about why the payment was not reaching me, but afterward they have been very nice and co-operative. So everything goes well! jean

Another 24 hours without any answer fromBSP. As you all mention they are paying, I must have done something wrong in the payment request procedure, I wish BigStock tells me......

I'm presently working at setting up a site targetting to sell to an industry I know and where I have a network. To fill a gap , I'm looking for pictures of largers industrial plants that relate to energy (solar furnaces, oil refineries, nuclear plants, wind mills farms, etc...). I'm looking for few people having this sort of pictures and are willing to collaborate. If you have those pictures and are interested, send me a mail ( [email protected]) with a possible link where I can see the pictures and what camera you have used for the shots. If you have a doubt if your pictures are relevant send me a mail, I will tell. In case the pictures are relevant, I will return to you and explain the project more in detail. Please note that I do this beside my job and have (not yet!!) anyone that helps, therefore I will only be able to offer a collaboration to very few. So I'm only looking for those of you that can cover the sort of picture I need for the time. At this stage I will also need to close my request when I have got the pictures needed. In adavnce thank you for your help and understanding jean

I havent been submitting to Alamy for few months now, but as I had my first sale last month, I have decided to submit more soon again. So far I have submitted in Tiff but I see now that they request JPG but still with 48MB minimum uncompressed file size. Doest it mean one shall upsize the file so to have 48MB in Tiff and than save in jpg with lowest compression possible? Thanks for any comfirmation of the above. jean
