"The taste of MSG by itself does not in any sense represent deliciousness. Instead, it is often described as unpleasant, and as bitter, salty or soapy..."  :D

It doesn't matter whether MSC Microstock Shouting Game is delicious itself or not.

What it does matter is it should sound delicious to our ears.

this is by far the greatest topic regarding speculation in MSG, so pop in and raise the bar!

Just in case someone is wondering what is MSG, it's Microstock Shouting Game.

Newbie Discussion / Re: Ranking factors microstock sites

I wouldn't expect regular sales till you have a few hundred images.

These days when I hear my stock shooting friends talk about stock photos they don't mentions about hundreds of images, they talk about 10,000 plus images.

Then again they all shoot stock full-time, think, eat and sleep stock photography. That kind of figures is not that difficult for them to achieve.

This is the type of competition we the weekend shooters are facing now.

I bet there are not 1,000 but 10,000 photos of green apples in all sites. :o

105
Of all the sites I upload to Bigstock has been the most problematic one with errors such as "unable to connect to server", "maximum of 3 logins....".

A friend told me he had stopped uploading to Bigstock because of this and their low sales. He has found it not worth the stress to struggle with such a site.

106
Don't think it would get better with more uploads and more contributors joining it.

It's all because of one word: "competition".

Increasing slow down in QC is happening in SS and DT too.

107
I just had the entire series all but the first one rejected for the reason "Different images must have different title and description". Is this something new?

I have a few myself.

Yes this is like you can't call bread "bread" everytime you eat it.

You have to call it white stuff, square pieces, things we have for breakfast etc.

This QC person introduces a new dimension in our life.  ;D

BS has never been exciting.  I keep hoping an increase in portfolio size will increase the excitement (sales).   :D

Wishing you for more excitements!

Bigstock.com / No previews in new uploads
« on: March 25, 2012, 03:47 »
I saw no previews in my all new uploads in BS site.

I deleted them and uploaded again.

Same problem.

I have been using a 10MP camera for years.

With everything equal e.g. subjects, lighting, composition etc. would I be able to make more money by upgrading to a 18MP camera?

One obvious disadvantage I see is slowing down uploading time with larger files.

A few of my friends are istock exclusive shooters using 21MP cameras. They told me they rarely sold files of such size in istock. But one of them said 21MP files give him better ranking in istock.

Stockcube, check it out, their minimum payout for bank transfers is $500 and they charge $50 for that.

Have you received your January 16 payment?

Please check your payment history in Veer.

I have not.

Has anybody got the money?

It's still NO!

I can't see why Veer can't pay us whenever we request payout over $100 just like any other site.

They are holding our money too long.

I hope they realize photographers have expenses and bills to pay too.

Thanks.

What to do with hidden files?

I can't seem to find the comments from the reviewers. Where are they hidden?

Thanks luissantos84.

Please let us know how you go with your tax form on DP. I will not fill out my tax form there until this is clear.

I would have thought ShutterStock has irrevocably thrashed out once and for all that we don't need an ITIN.

Now we have to go through the whole circus again in DP.

DepositPhotos / Why do we need ITIN
« on: December 29, 2011, 20:51 »
Why do we need to provide ITIN to DP for contributors from countries with tax treaty with USA?

Shutterstock, Fotolia, istock, RF123, Canstock, Bigstock and almost every other microstock don't require such a condition. They have found out we don't need ITIN.

Applying ITIN is such a pain. You practically need to hire a lawyer or accountant in USA to help you with it which easily costs you $250. A friend has tried to do it himself. His applications were rejected by IRS 3 times with little reasons given.

According to DP we're going to face 30% tax withheld without ITIN.

Could anyone point me to a summary of total files approved, total files rejected and total files in review without having to go to several places and to count bars in Photodune?

How do we know what have been sold as subscription sales?

At the moment I can't see anywhere in Veer that such information is displayed.

Envato / Re: Deleting Soft Rejected Images
« on: December 08, 2011, 04:54 »
....and all the current soft rejections I'm just deleting. So I just want the files to go away like hard rejections do without any action on my part.

Deleting soft rejections is a slow and tedious process at this stage. I don't think I have the time to go through them. They are just piling up.

Let's have all rejections be hard one.

Envato / Re: Eastern European Reviewers
« on: December 08, 2011, 04:48 »
I'm new to PhotoDune, but where did you see who the reviewers are or where they're from?
Reviews tend to come in around 9am Ozzie time. That would would be an indication that most of the reviewers are down under.

Looking at my own batches of submissions getting approved and coming online, it's more like 9pm.

Does that mean most Aussie reviewers work part-time after work and from home?

A suggestion.

Is there a way to have multiple delete boxes in "Hidden" without having to open each Soft Rejected file and delete it and go back to "Hidden" to delete another file again?
