Envato / Eastern European Reviewers
« on: December 07, 2011, 02:13 »
I applause Photodune's move to go global in seek of talents. I notice that the majority of reviewers seem to be from Eastern European countries.

I would like to see the next new reviewers coming from Pacific regions e.g Asia, Australia and New Zealand etc. so that our submissions will get reviewed round the clock in different time zones.

Just to inform all here to check.

I've found an unauthorised File of mine appearing in allfreelogo.com.

How many files can we submit info is gone.

So I presume they are not taking any uploading at the moment?

For FTP uploading I like to see at least 20 or more "items submitted for review" instead of 5 as you need to do 200 clicks if you are submitting the maximum files allowed.

I also like to see "Delete" relegated to somewhere and with a confirm prompt as I click too fast and have 10 photos accidentally deleted.

All in all uploading has been a breeze once you overcome the quirky initial application process.

I didn't know how the kangaroo jokes got started here.

I chanced upon an info on the net that Envato was started out in Australia. I watched the video interview of the founders who had said many things that resonated with my humble experience as a lone stock photo producer.

I've been uploading to Photodune the maximum files allowed for the past several days. I have a great vibe about the site. Most probably will be finishing uploading my 12,000 photos to it before the end of next week. I believe in getting in early and dominate my niche first. Fortunately I only shoot royalty free with no requirement for model release for microstock.

We had a few great traditional Australian stock agencies in the past. Hope that Photodune will do well for us too.

I'm not related to Photodune. This is just an Australian supporting a global Australian company.

My latest record is one and half week still waiting...
Does Australia have a long Thanksgiving weekend too, eating stuffed Kangaroos?

Can't work how Photodune operates. Didn't get an acknowledgement for the application.

I've heard kangaroos are an endangered species in Australia as they export too many of them to northern atmosphere for Thanksgiving dinner. Turkeys are unaffordable now with the debt crisis there.

How soon you get to know the results of your application after uploading the first 5 files?

Hey Sion,

Reviews can take up to 3-4 days max :) Portfolio reviews to be accepted as a contributor are generally even quicker, usually 24 hours or less :)

A day the images don't appear is a day they are off the market.

135
Beside new uploads are not appearing in SS,  I've noticed that the descriptions of all new uploads of a fellow photographers are all wrong.

I emailed him about it. And he replied that the descriptions of all his original files were all correct.

Looks like something interesting is happening in SS site.

136
Usually files are visible almost immediately in your own port.

That's what I mean.

Only 2 photos out of the 20 approved in the same batch are visible in my portfolio.

I don't know where the other 18 have gone.

Out of the 20 newly approved files, only two are visible on SS site.

It has been 12 hours after approval.

Anyone here has seen this before?

SS QC has slowed down?

Uploads have been waiting for review for a week. Normally it only takes a day or two to clear.

I couldn't upload using multi-file uploader either.

I ask this question partly to find how many people are still uploading to DepositPhotos and it looks like there are only you and me.  :)

Anyone here is experiencing problems in FTP uploading to DepositPhotos?

Files just keep failing with "critical error" since yesterday.

Same files uploaded to other sites with no problem.

Bigstock.com / Publising photos to BS is such a pain
« on: April 12, 2011, 01:21 »
Anyone shares such view?

They have to learn from Veer or Can Stock. Just upload and hit another one or two buttons. No category. No 7 words description and tortuous routes to publish a file after FTP uploading. All microstock sites should think of making it easier for photographers to upload instead of making more works for us.

I'm thinking of stopping uploading to BS in view of the low returns from it. I can use the time saved creating new works instead.

We may think it's great to upload to 7 or 8 sites. But only the top 4 makes it worthwhile for our time. I am coming to the the view that less is more.

What do you think?

123RF / Re: No FTP and Uploads Until June 14, 2010
« on: June 14, 2010, 07:23 »
Dear 123RF.com Contributors,

Kindly note that we're migrating to a new FTP server this entire weekend. As a result, we will not be enabling any FTP processing or uploads. The system is scheduled to be installed and running on Monday, June 14, 2010.

We regret if this has caused you any inconvenience. We should have a more responsive, spacious and stable FTP server to suit your uploading requirements soon.

Thanks for your kind understanding!

123RF / FTP can't connect to 123RF to upload again?

FTP can't connect to 123RF to upload again?

It has happened several times in the past.

147
Have you checked your "Online Files" and see those marked downloaded are all reported in "My Earnings"?

148
I went through the first 5 pages of Online Files in DT, there are 6 files marked downloaded. The 5 pages are the latest approved files in order.

When I look at My Earnings I can only see the first file being reported but not the other 5 files. (I would hate to go through the rest of 200 pages.)

Can anyone explain it?

Anyone encounters problems processing files uploaded by FTP to 123RF?

I uploaded 50 files but could only successfully process half of them after many tries.
