I've heard a few posters here mentioning the word "indies".

What exactly is "indies"?

Google can't help me with this.

IStock just announced that they have effectively eliminated upload limits. Upload limits never made a lot of sense to me anyway.

Do you have a link to this announcement? Is this going to be a temporary thing? If  it is so anyone is staying up all night to upload to kae full advantage of the opening?

Another conspiracy theory: IS has bought the major world supply of coffee beans. They want to jack up the price of coffee by encouraging sleepless nights of uploading.

I'm a full-time stock photographer.

But to do that I need to hold two other jobs to survive.  :)

Sorry. I've found the little icon at top right to access to the usual Contributors Area.

The icon is of a meaningless graphic.

How does one do it? I can't find the "Request Earnings" function.

Looks like the "Request Earnings" function has been disabled in DT.

Life is too short to do you job you hate.

No one ever starves doing stock full time.

It's worth a try.

Good luck and let us know the results.

Sorry non-native English speaker here: What are "peeps"?

Like... birds?

Sorry another non-native English speaker here.

What sort of birds peep?

Newly approved files not appearing in SS?

Anyone notices it since yesterday?

I'm getting the Not found (error to origin) issue as well.  If you go to http://contributor.veer.com/dashboard/Approved then you can see if you've gotten any downloads.  Until the stats page is fixed then that'll have to be the work around for me to see if I get anything just won't be able to see what it was.

Thanks Anita.

I remembered Opera used to work when Explorer failed. But not anymore.

Anyone knows a way to opt out of 3rd party sales in Veer?

How can I know how much Veer will pay me if Dashboard is being "disabled"?

I haven't been able to access my Veer Dashboard in almost a week. I've tried from different computers, and even from different networks. If I go to "Workspace", it's fine. But if I click on Dashboard the wheels just spin until I get a Timeout Expired message.

Anyone experiencing similar issues?

As far as I'm concerned Veer Dashboard is being "disabled". I don't bother to click on it anymore.

So, you can't shoot what he says not to shoot, and you can't shoot what he says to shoot.  This is a tough business! ;)

My take is if you shoot what he doesn't shoot you remove him as your competitor. Who needs a powerful competitor like him?

66
seriously it's possible to make more than $2500 in a month?

Seriously if you're an istock exclusive shooter.

There's a thread about it on their forum, with only 11 "same here" posts.  I'll add mine, so that makes 12  ;D

I'll do it too.

This is the best way to let SS know.

I assume they will fix it after the weekend. As it doesn't affect sales it isn't urgent.

Sale figures don't appear in earnings summary. Virtually we are getting nothing even if there are downloads.

This is bad.

Veer / Re: Veer portfolio in agefotosotck?

So this again raises for me the question - how much do we get paid if this site sells our Veer image? Take a look at the prices they're charging in the screen capture below.

If I sell an XL image directly through Veer (as an example) I receive $5.25 royalty on the 15 credits or $22 the buyer pays. The sizes on easyFotostock don't really match up (even the aspect ratio is wrong given the original) but the closest seems to be the 8 x 11 for $70. Do I still get $5.25 for that even though they're selling it for more than three times the price?

Veer never answered these questions when they came up in the Alamy train wreck. Did anyone ever get any information from Veer support about how contributors are compensated for these sales (if there are any) and how we would know in our Dashboard (when it works) that a sale was through a partner?

It's interesting to see how easyfotostock can compete with the $1 microstock sites.
It's cheapest offering costs15 times more.

Dashboard is still broken, I haven't been able to see how many sales I haven't had for many days either.  It is very poor that this hasn't been addressed yet.

If you can't get into Dashboard, you don't know how much you earn.

If you don't know how much you earn, you won't know how much you'll be paid.

If you don't know how much you'll be paid, you won't know when you'll be paid.

Not too bad for them.

But it's bad for us.

Veer / Veer portfolio in agefotosotck?

Looks like a few microstock shooters have found out about their images appearing in a low budget stock easyfotostock by an agency called Kalium.

Please check and see whether your images are there.

72
There are about 300 of mine there under the same alias. It's not iStock or anything associated with them because one I remember them rejecting is there. It's quite possibly Veer, since that roughly matches the number of images I have with them.

Oh - and they are not all over the place, kalium (potassium) is also a keyword for some images, that's why it pops up in the google search.

Is there any reporting of the third party earnings in Veer? Well most of the time we can't get access to Dashboard anyway.

73
This may look like the case of Veer submitting our images to Alamy and splitting the earnings further into smaller bits.

74
I've found out my images in a traditional site. They are there under a company called "Kalium".

I use different pseudonyms in different sites. Can it be either Veer or Canstock?

General Stock Discussion / Re: How are your RM files doing?
« on: September 18, 2012, 05:33 »
I rarely uploaded to Alamy in the past three years. Still get sales, but the prices are much much lower, my income is 1/3 of what it was.

I can concur 101% to that.
