My own opinions, it's always a catch 22.

1. Without sales - you cannot attract contribution.
2. Without content - you cannot attract sales.

If you want exclusives, but you don't have a proven track record, why would anyone want to supply you with EXCLUSIVE IMAGES?

Even if you had deep pockets, would you pay a good amount to get images into your database? And what would be the trigger point for photographers to send exclusive work to you?

Adobe Stock / HUGE Unwatermarked Comp Images
« on: June 10, 2008, 20:08 »
I am unhappy about FT comp images, they are bigger than the blog size and looks very good, if I were some pirate, I wouldn't hesitate stealing unwatermarked images from fotolia!

see the difference! I dun think this friendly message will discourage me from downloading the comp and using it!

Quote
The image displayed below is a comp image. A comp image is an image used for layout and composition purposes. We intentionally decreased the size and quality of the comp image. Do not use the image for final production. The image may only be used for draft and layout work.

VS

other sites put their watermarks there, why can't fotolia do the same?

Don't they care about our images?

Want to share some recomendation.

http://www.123rf.com/src_mitzrah/profile_chode - some recommendation, you shouldn't fave too many same type of image, you know, like too many fruits, only the best ones.

Then you want to look at the discover page : http://www.123rf.com/discover/ and look at what keywords are people looking for now.

Then fave those that people are looking for. That way, you have more chance of exposure and sale.

hope you get more sales, you have a nice portfolio.

123RF / Re: What to do?
« on: March 27, 2008, 21:57 »
U don't have to choose model release or property release!

Just FTP, if have IPTC, it will be extracted, after that, just review and save changes. Wait for the admin to review. It's fast efficient, no categories (I think they use keywords).  If you have model release, they accept any MR. Just go and attach quickly before they review!

Last time they have submission guides. i think still can access but hidden www.123rf.com/masterit

When U process Ur uploaded file, use FireFox . U can see the progress. Might take a while but at least U know it's working. IE, cannot see :(

Good luck, 123 is my fav site, cause I get some download there. Other site always reject me!!! :(

I forgotten to give any free images in Jan, I only got a few downloads but in Feb, I was a bit more keen, I staggered the free period for my images. It worked very good for me!

I'm happy, my earnings jumped 400% in Feb! Ok, not very much but it's a good start! Thanks to the tools like Faving your images and moving the watermarks, it really does work!

123RF / Re: Earnings totals messed up
« on: February 28, 2008, 00:51 »
They've compressed the earnings table, notice that it now takes a short time only to load up. I think during the consolidation of the earnings, some earnings was reported wrongly.

However, things seems to be stable now.

« on: February 21, 2008, 03:48 »
What's a forum when you can't speak your thoughts? It's stupid and really insecure of iStock to be censoring everything and anyone that's remotely critical of their approach!

Oh by the way, you did abide by the agreement and terms of use. Oh well.
