I need your advice!

Between 2007 and about 2015, I uploaded around 2000 photos to most of the well-known Microstock photography sites.  I have not uploaded any photos since then.  To add the description and keywords to my photos, I used Prostockmaster, and I always found it to work well, without any problems.

Today, I processed some photos to upload to these sites, however, when I went to find Prostockmaster on my computer, it was not longer installed.  I Googled Prostockmaster, and installed it on my computer.  Unfortunately, I cannot get the program to work.  Every time it opens, it comes up with this message "invalid user credentials" and when I click 'OK', the program closes.

I did a search to find out how to fix this problem, and I followed each of the steps, as instructed.  However, I still cannot get the message to disappear.

Can anyone give me some advice about this situation?  I really want to add the keywords and description to my photos, so I can upload them to the Microstock sites, where I sell my photos.

PhotoDune / Re: Anyone unworthy of Photodune yet?
« on: February 06, 2017, 19:32 »
I've been given the shove, as well!   :o  https://photodune.net/user/phillipminnis/portfolio

Here are some general reasons why (your) photos didnt meet our guidelines:

    Inappropriate content type
    Composition/Lighting
    Authenticity and commercial viability
    Too many similar images

I have been selling my photos on the site since October 2011.  I have a 5-Star Author Rating (58 ratings).

No great loss!  I couldn't care less!   Just as long as they pay out my current balance of $51.72 before they delete my profile from their site!

Yes, I tried everything to get it working, after it ceased to work over the weekend.

Unfortunately, in attempting to get it working, I deleted the program, but to get it back onto my iphone, I had to re-purchase the program.  That was a bit of a pain, as I still had time left from the last time I purchased it.  >:(

Anyway, after re-installing it, and logging into to the sites that I upload my images to, the only one that still won't allow me to login to is SS.  I've tried a number of times since the weekend to get it working, without success.  I notified Microstokr about the problem over the weekend, and the reply from the site stated "I'm checking for bugs, meanwhile please try to reboot the phone".  I did this, but it didn't help.

I've got so used to obtaining my sales report on my iphone, that it's a real pain (first world problem  :) ), to have to login to the site on my desktop to keep up to date with my sales.

iStockPhoto.com / Have They Got it Wrong Again?
« on: March 21, 2014, 13:51 »
My iStock account just increased by $71.58.

After spending some time trying to work out how I achieved such a large jump since I last checked my balance five hours ago, I discovered that this amount was achieved by one sale that occurred on the 14th of February via the PP.  I found the image, and it only has only ever achieved a total of 12 PP sales and 2 iStock downloads.  It is showing that from these few sales, it has earned a total of $75.37.  I did not have any iStock downloads sales today....only this PP sale, which, as I stated before, dates back to the 14th of February.  When I viewed my PP sales for the month of February, it is showing a very tall green bar, towering way above the sales achieved on all the other days in the month.

Is a sale of this size possible through the PP, or does it sound like there's a problem in their system, again?

Have others received a record of their Partner Program sales for the months of May and June on their stats page?

As yet, I have not received notification of any Partner Program sales since the 31st of April.

Phillip Minnis I like your venetian gondolas and scenes very much, they are beautiful.

The post-production you have done on your images is really awesome.
You have my honest vote/like! ;)

Thank you very much, Boris, for taking the time to vote for my set of images!

Thank you, also, for your positive comments.

I don't expect everyone to like the way I processed the images, however, I am, so, really, that is all that matters.  ;)

Have you thought about posting them in 'Photosig'? That site has a lot of professionals that will critique your photos and you gets points as well...

Thank you for your suggestion, however, no, I haven't throught of doing that, as I don't want a critique done on my photos.  :)

I'm happy with the way I have processed them, and if I wasn't, I wouldn't have entered them into the competition.  :)

You are desperate aren't you? How many times are you going to try bumping this 'topic' up in your pathetic plea for votes?

If you want to win a photography competition why don't you just submit some outstanding images worthy of doing so? Is this actually a 'photography competition' or just a social networking exercise?

Oh, gostwyck, my posts appear to be really upsetting you! If you don't like my posts, why don't you just ignore them?  You'll get high blood pressure if you let my posts get you all upset.

In recent years, I've seen similar posts in forums on Microstock photography sites, and I've been only too happy to help photographers by way of a vote.   I've never thought negatively about them asking for votes.....I've always viewed it as helping another member of the photography family.  :)

If you read the rules of this competition, one facet of the competition is the 'People's Choice' category....which depends entirely on obtaining 'likes' from Facebook members.  So, yes, part of the competition does rely on social networking.

However, this is also a competition that will be decided by a panel of judges.

Don't let my posts get to you....I certainly wouldn't want to be responsible for getting you all worked up about it!  :)

I liked your post-processing Phil - happy to help out. Brought back fond memories of Venice - wonderful place. I want to go back. You've inspired me to post a link of my own - on a separate topic - for a contest where social media is just the first stage.

Good luck!

Thank you very much, wordplanet!  I appreciated your support!

Let me know when you post your link, and I'll pop in for a look!  :)

Once again, thank you!

Cheers

Phil

I'd still appreciate votes....but, only if you think they deserve to be voted for.  :)

I just lost 10 Seconds of my time...

Hmmm. This topic is painfully naff. I thought it was supposed to be photography competition rather than an FB 'Like' contest? There's no way I would vote for your images when compared to the work of many others there.

Anyway, this is MSG. The 'votes' that we're interested in are those from buying customers. That's all that counts when you are doing it to put bread on the table. Fawning platitudes and compliments won't pay the bills. I shoot what I think might sell __ not what might get me FB 'Likes'. There's a very big difference.

Thank you very much for your keen support and encouraging words!   :o  I'm glad you  liked my set of images.  ::)

I'm a microstock photographer as well, with around 2000 images on 18 sites.

However, occasionally, I also dabble in photography competition sites and other 'social' online photography sites.  For me, it's not all about selling my images....I also enjoy the fun side of taking photographs and uploading them to these other aforementioned sites.

Whether you like it or not, social media has taken over the world, and I'm sure it's here to stay, and will become more and more important in our lives.  Many sites, including photography competition sites, are designed around using social media for publicity, advertising, and even voting.  It's the way it is.  Enjoy! ;)

Is there a way for people like me that aren't on Facebook to vote?

Thanks for your interest.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is.

123RF / What is going On?
« on: July 06, 2012, 18:42 »
After receiving a payout in April (for sales in February and March), I achieved sales totalling over $100.00 during April, May and June.  I commenced July with a balance of $103.70 and then suddenly, my account balance went back to -$14.48.....a minus figure!!!

I contacted support about this yesterday, and was informed that there was a problem with the server, and I was told that my correct balance would be restored within 4 to 5 days.

Are other contributors experiencing this problem?

New Sites - General / Re: Front Page
« on: June 26, 2012, 01:34 »
October last year!?  man, quit that site,  your time could surely be spent better.

I just find it disappointing that I had regular sales on the site for over a year, with a few payouts, and then in October 2011 it all came to a sudden and crashing halt.  I have not had one sale since then.  That brakes the record!  Even sites that are regarded as the weakest give me sales every now and then.

This year I've had a payout or payouts from sites such as Panthermedia, Graphic Leftovers, Yaymicro, Pixmac and Featurepics, but not even one sale at Zoonar.  You'd think that I'd get one sale in 9 months out of nearly 1300 images. :-(

I hope things improve soon!

New Sites - General / My Image on the Front Page of Zoonar
« on: June 25, 2012, 22:10 »
I just noticed that one of my images is featured in the slide-show on the front page of Zoonar.  I just wish it was getting me sales!  With nearly 1300 images on the site, I have not had a sale since around last October.  Very disappointing after a promising start!

Yaymicro / Are You Getting Paid?
« on: May 30, 2012, 16:18 »
On the 25th of April, I requested a payment from Yaymicro.  I've heard nothing since.  Two days ago, I sent them an e-mail, to ask them when I could expect to receive this payment.  So far, no reply.

Is anyone getting paid?  Do they normally take 35 days to process a payment?

I have a website and a blog, however, about a year ago I deleted all of the posts on my blog, as I just couldn't be bothered writing posts anymore. :-)  I now only use it as a referral links page to the sites that I sell my photos on.

When I decided to get a website up and running over two years ago, I got all enthusiastic, and spent hours and hours getting it how I wanted to look, and I uploaded a heap of photos.  However, since then, I've hardly added any photos, and it just sits there, costing me over $200.00 per year.  :-)  Since purchasing the website, the website's designer has enabled large images to be displayed.  I now need to reload all of my images in a larger size, so they can be viewed in the new format.  One cold winter's day, when I have nothing else to do, I'll probably get in the mood, and sit here for hours and do it!

I also have many of my photos displayed on my Facebook page, however, when anybody asks to see my images, I usually send them to my website.....I think it appears a bit more professional. :-)

I upload to Mostphotos and GL Stock Images (Graphic Leftovers).  I imported these two agencies to the Picniche contributor toolbar, however, neither of them appear to be working.  Do any other photographers have these two agencies on their toolbar, and if so, how did you get them to work correctly?

123RF / Re: This Could Not Be Right....Could It?
« on: March 22, 2012, 05:16 »
Well, in the last 24 hours, Alex and Jaycee have kept in constant contact with me regarding this matter, and it turns out that the buyer only wanted to download the image once, instead of the three times that went through.

My balance has been adjusted, but I'm still very happy with the result!  -:)

Thanks, Alex and Jaycee!

Now, I'm just waiting on the 43 images that have been in the inspection queue for a while to be inspected. -:)
