Can I sell my portfolio of 5k stock images to someone for a lumpsum price and remove it from my portfolio so they can sell it?

In theory, it is possible, but there are quite a few problems.

The person, who buys the images has to upload them again, which may cost a considerable amount of time, the images may not all be accepted again and they certainly lose their search positions. All these issues combined mean that you will probably get considerably less money for the images than you would get in the future by selling them yourself.

Also the person who buys the images would have to trust you that are no legal pitfalls in your portfolio and the images do not violate anybody's intellectual property.

I somewhere disagree with him.

You can transfer the rights to the buyer. You need not to delete that portfolio, just change the email ID to the buyers email.
The buyer also don't need to re-start everything, keep that portfolio running as it is as a separate portfolio.

Thanks for letting us know, I was wondering if anyone got their final payment yet. I'm still waiting for mine

Adobe Stock / Re: Generative AI vector loophole?

Beautiful portfolio btw

And I say, beautiful AI generated work.

One thing that is a little bit confusing, is it is actually marked as "ai"... so... wouldn't that mean they are aware it is AI, and fine with it being AI?
He added AI generated on title but when you use filters "include AI" then this result is not shown.

And, not all his work mentioned AI generated in the titles, even though they are  generated with AI.

Adobe Stock / Generative AI vector loophole?
« on: November 30, 2023, 08:25 »
Saw this popular work and found that it was generated with AI and then vector traced and uploaded as normal vector file.

https://stock.adobe.com/images/vintage-christmas-and-new-year-vector-illustration-of-santa-claus-winter-nature-with-house-christmas-tree-in-cozy-home-and-red-retro-car-for-greeting-card-cover-or-poster-ai-generated/677378064

If this is something normal at Adobe then time is not far when people will just trace and upload AI content like this.

Dear Forum Members,

I recently faced a challenging situation and am seeking your insights. This was my first time participating in a submission process for a free collection, where I contributed 80 clips. Admittedly, I had hoped for at least a 10% acceptance rate, but none were selected.

This outcome has admittedly shaken my confidence as a stock footage creator. Rejection isn't easy for anyone. I'm left wondering if the quality of my assets was not up to par or if there were other factors at play.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback or advice from this community. Have any of you experienced something similar? What could be the reasons behind such a decision?

Looking forward to your valuable insights.

Best regards,
Daniel

One rejection cannot be your final judgement. Let the buyers decide, if buyers are buying your videos then you are doing it right, if not, improve yourself.

This industry required patience. You need to experiment with many themes and see which is getting popular.
Free section from Adobe is just a small bonus, nothing else.

« on: November 19, 2023, 05:13 »

They seem to be losing customers too.

Never would of thought of saying anything like this some months ago but my shutterstock vs adobe stock port performance suggests adobe stock's customer acquisition strategy is taking customers from shutterstock.

I agree and even my new files on adobe stock sells.
SS management seems don't care now whether they fail or pass.

I am seeing this trend that my old files are selling while new files don't sell... is this normal?

I agree 100%,but that's another question, those who create multiple accounts to circumvent the rules pay the consequences, you can be sure of that, the fact is that sometimes it takes a while to catch them.

Again, spammers are not here to build a long term good portfolio or any reputation. They are here for a short term game and are finding this as easy money option.

I hope that the AI upload limits on Adobe Stock are limited to a maximum of 10,000 in a year,or even less, and that they clean up all these images with logos,or with bad generation that escape review.

I think that 10,000 AI contents maximum per account per year it would be better for everyone and also to have quality content in the Adobe Stock collection and also to not overload the reviewers and have shorter review times.

We all stand to gain if Adobe places a limit and communicates it officially,on the number of AI content that each contributor can have each year on sale.

It will not work as people are so clever that they will create multiple accounts to increase their upload limit.
Everyone wants to earn and they don't care how they earn or what spamming they are doing.

Agencies needs to take action to control these stuffs to promote more authentic work and real artists.

Sometimes I feel there is a huge requirement for a Microstock Organization and all RF and RM companies should come under them. Through this they can control pricing and authenticity both. Moreover can also organize a annual microstock meet to reward and also motivate people to work for such field.

I have heard that freepik is now removing similar AI content as it is affecting the search.

Question for those whole upload to Istock regularly :  do new files sell at all?  or is the largest part of your Istock income based on old(er) files?

For me, older files probably 4-6 years old file sell.

End of good era..

This is sad. Imagine if any Adobe employee did any mistake, will they fire them on immediate effect or will they give chance for rectification and take it as a part of learning.?

People work hard and with such silly mistakes one should consider giving warning instead of banning them.
Mistakes happens and mistakes are fixed.

Adobe Stock / Re: All weekly bestsellers are AI portfolios
« on: October 10, 2023, 07:18 »
I don't really trust the numbers in that Best Sellers list. There was one contributor listed as having 10,000 downloads but that same person had just posted on their instagram that they'd made it to 787 lifetime downloads and $600 (which was enough to pay for their Midjourney subscription.)
ha ha  ;D

Whenever we ask agencies to remove the copyright violations, they close the account of culprit and keep their pending account balance themselves, why?
Isn't this unethical?

While you make a good point that they should pay what's due, if an image was downloaded from a thief's account.

How do you prove that the stolen images were actually sold? Just seeing it listed, we can't assume there was ever a sale or that the agency was actually profiting from showing the image.

I still say the agencies hide behind the protection and don't really try to be proactive to prevent the numerous fake accounts that steal images and try to make money from others work. Section 230 is a provision of the 1996 Communications Decency Act that protects companies that host user-created content from lawsuits over posts on their services.

Places like SS will claim that they try to protect us from theft, while it's just a show, minimal effort, so they can claim that they try. It costs money to prevent the fraud, and everything for the Microstock agencies is based on how to make more money, while spending the least.

Note DMCA doesn't protect us either and we have to do the filing?

I think this has became normal for companies to keep the earnings. I agree with you that least effort is made to protect us from theft.
I have seen many contributors whose max portfolio is of theft images.

This is really a concern that needs to be addressed properly.

Just to ask, how much power do DMCA hold?

Why did Canstock give up? Personal or financial? It's a shame somehow. No attempt was made to find a solution? But the running costs are probably too high.

It is not easy for any company to shutdown. The must have made many attempts for solution but time is not with them.
The industry is overflowing with assets now. The supply is way more than the demand.

So will Getty compensate the real artist for the trained model?
The commercially safe model cannot be "theirs" unless they take care of the real artist.

if you do a little search over this group, you will find plenty of answers for same question.
