I agree with you.. pathetic review time.

And to add more, they are rejecting a lot of designs.
Designs which gets approved by shutterstock, fotolia, depositphotos, iStock, 123RF is rejected by dreamstime.

Many thanks dreamstime for doing so, you and your review team for doing such a great job, I love you people.  >:(

Yes, Same happened with me on Canstock. 123Rf working very fine.

I have many files to be uploaded to canstock but this doesn't seems to be resolving.  :(

GraphicRiver / Re: Uploading vectors to GraphicRiver
« on: April 01, 2015, 00:01 »
Do I really have to jump through these hoops to submit an EPS vector image https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/203269650-A-step-by-step-guide-to-the-upload-process

This is what  am designing, its not rocket science

Vector designing have evolved a lot during few years. Yes, its not rocket science, but you need to improve a lot to make sale. Although, I will not recommend GraphicRiver for vectors, as its submitting process is too long and at last you get rejections in few days. And on top, you still do not get any sale.

Name of the website of the company?

Hi Max, please PM me if you think you hold skills what I am looking for. We can discuss there.
Thanks,

Hi All,

Ok, I have been working in this royality-free stock market from many years and have seen this industry very closely. I am pro-artist and know whats demanding.
I was offline in this forum from many months as I was busy with one of my experimantal project.

Coming to the topic:

Just for a overview, this is a project related to this microstock industry only. Not the same old concept which most of the new site owners are doing. It relates to same industry but with a twist.

Since this was a experimental project and this started around 3 months back and I was amazed with the responce.
In the last 2 month, I have got approx. 200,000 visits and 720,000 Page views, with alexa ranking in 50k's
This is pure genuine traffic which I got, all the visitors were real and genuine. There is not any SEO done in the website till now.

Few of my collegues suggested to look for invester, but to be frank I am currently not thinking for any investment right now.
For situation right now, I am only looking for partner and keep everything simple.

Why I got so much traffic?
A- Well the content in the site was very demanding. And I know how to grow even more.

Why am I offering partnership?
A- Consider this as a only one time opportunity that I am offering publicly. I was in partnership with one of my friend who recently got hired in a top company at a very good package, so he quitted the partnership and moved on.

Whom am I looking for?
A- I am looking for person with these skills,
1- He/She should have good experiance and must be expert in Web Development & SEO.
2- He/She should very trustworthy and genuine person
3- He/She should work and share his own idea too to help growing the site
4- Person should be very passionate and think out of the box
5- Person who wants to work in long term or permanent basis.
6- He/She should somehow relate to this microstock industry too, this will help the website to grow even more.

Do anyone needs to pay?
A- No, there is no amount required for partnership. I am looking for a genuine person whom I can trust and work with long term. Instead the person will be paid as per the partnership share.

If anyone interested do pm me in this forum with the link and details of
previous works... expertise level... aim in future... and why you want to join
We can discuss more there.

Please do not ping me if you do not have any of those skills.

Thanks,
-Akash

Terms and conditions you signed 8 years back contained a royalty based on the economy of 8 years back. Everything has gotten more expensive, inflation, but royalties have either been kept the same or reduced. Image pricing has gone down, instead of up. It is very reasonable to ask for a raise. Especially from a company that has raised millions and millions of extra capital through the IPO. The success of the company is shared with share holders, whilst the people who built the company with hard work, loyalty and creativity are being ignored.

+100... I totally agree with this.

We Photographers and Designers work very hard in creating images. We are the pillars of this company. It is very sad to share that benefiting and thinking for shareholders and increasing for IPO price without benefiting contributors are of no use.

A company who is dependent on us has an office in great Empire State Building with a owner Jon Oringer having worth more than a billion dollar. And we are still getting the same.

Yes, due to inflation everything got expensive and we are still at the same position as 8 years back. Raising millions of dollars without thinking for its contributors feels ignored.

I think shutterstock should look from contributors point of view too, not just shutterstock as a business.

« on: October 23, 2013, 07:50 »
there was a contest, those of you who are complaining could have submitted options months ago...

Didn't want to open this can of worms, but here we go...

I saw the contest, but I won't enter anything on 99designs. There was a time when I might, and did, but not anymore. It's not a good venue for designers or clients. I can't support that site.

And I'm not saying I'm opposed to doing free work or spec work. There is a time and a place for that stuff, and I'll do spec work today if I think it is a good opportunity. And I'll occasionally do free work for someone who I think is deserving of it, Tyler being one of those people. If they ask.

I know that wouldn't have worked here, the minute Tyler asked for logo designs he would have been hit with the usual anti-spec cries. But he could have privately reached out to some of the folks right here on this very forum who are very capable logo designers and asked for thoughts on how to do this, or even help in getting it done.

So in short, no I couldn't have submitted something because there was no opportunity for me to do so.

+1 for EmberMike

99designs or any crowdsourcing works are no good for designers.
What is Spec Work?

I oppose it and have never ever entered such contest.

there was a contest, those of you who are complaining could have submitted options months ago. Tyler clearly likes his orange and the font (or typeface or typography, depending on how pedantic and hipster you wish to appear). It's his space; do you openly criticise the furnishings in your friend's house? Ouch! it's harsh here, even within the community. It's not my cup of tea either, but i like the change.

Yes, I agree openly criticism is not good.
But let me make it clear that I am not criticizing anyone here neither am I saying anything harsh. Its an opinion dear. You can take it as either way.
Any logo for any company is the most important thing as it stays for years and even many decades.
I do like the effort but this could be made more good.

I didn't knew when the contest was open. I am currently over packed with my work else I would have surely designed one for the community.

gr8.. but I will never recommend this logo.. as an artist perspective this is not good... the font is very common. Also the idea is good but could be done more better.

sry for being so direct... its good effort, but I didn't liked the logo.

Its not a really new business model, its 6 months old,  its old news, it was already added to the list of partner sites on  March 06, 2013. I have been getting emails from clashot for months. There already a few threads about clashot on MSG as well.

Thankyou.. I never knew about that... Kindly ignore this thread if already present.

Hi,

I see many people are part of the microstock industry and also running their own personal website to sell images. Symbiostock has really helped us and many to bring an individual presence and direct selling model.

I want to share some views (my personal and no offence)...

Contributors:
1- We are seeing many new websites coming in the market. Many survive and many not. Contributors gets invitations to join them in their initial phase with some benefits. We then review the site, discuss the royalty rates and tell the pros and cons of the new site in this forum.
2- We usually discuss regarding the royalty rates. As we can see within top tier companies, there is no fair commission rate. And we then read on news that companies has generated so much revenue and earning.
3- We are seeing less sales from past many months and this is gradually increasing. Many members are discussing regarding low sales on forums.

Buyers:
1- Buyer are getting confused from where to buy now. So many companies with so many offers.
2- Buyer gets even more confused when they get to know that there are even more individual symbiostock websites.
3- There is lot of supply with limited demands.

My views:
Since, there are many good people out in this msg forum who are constantly active. We are aware about the royalty structure and no fair contributor commission. Why cannot we make a group and launch a website which allow every users a fair chance as well as fair commission.
Lets bring all the individual sellers and unite them to a new "our" community generated website from where buyers can directly buy from us and we also give a very good royalty % commission. All there will be a running expenses of annual maintenance charge and some marketing and SEO expenses. There could be a small investment on website building etc.
This platform will also provide a one shop destinations for buyers as well as a fair commission to us.

Let there be any good person to lead and handle this website from here msg forums and create and select team from here only. We know that buyers wants images and we also know we want fair commission.

Let me know your views on it.

Just checked my SS stats from yesterday ( Tuesday 8-27) and was shocked.  It was 4 times what I usually earn on an average weekday.  Huge numbers of OD sales for yesterday.

I am wondering if this is a result of the Facebook tie in, or just extremely good luck on my part.  FWIW, today looks pretty average.

Anybody else?
wow, congratulation to you... and shocking for me as I didn't even had any OD sales and my yesterday sale was terrible  ;)
