I disagree.

Pushing a plus button doesnt show any intelligence either. If people have to give a reason for disagreeing then they should have to give a reason for agreeing too. Either treat adults EQUALLY as adults, or scrap the - or + thing altogether.

Your argument doesn't make sense. If you agree with something and don't have anything relevant to add you only need to support the idea already expressed.

But if someone disagrees, and considering that this is a forum which objective and most important feature is people discussing ideas, then it's important to express the reasons for the disagreement.

And as I said you may always vote in a post that you agree which contradicts another post. This vote works in fact as minus regarding the post to which it's replying.

I do not expect everyone to agree with my viewpoints and when they do not, I do not find it troubling when they simply choose to disagree.  I certainly have had my fair share of - votes on this forum for my views and at times I deserved them as my ego rears its ugly head from time to time.

It would be presumptuous of me to expect that everyone has the time to debate differences in opinion, every time theirs do not mesh me mine. After all we all have different life experiences and it is a given we will not always agree.

I don't think it is my right to choose how someone presents themselves on this forum or how they choose to communicate with their fellows.

If this is an forum used by ADULTS, where the discussion of ideas is the most important factor, than I do not see any value in th Minus button.

The people who disagree have the option to write an answer stating why they think differently, or to give a positive vote to an answer that state the reasons why they disagree.

To me, saying No without any further explanation in an adult environment is offensive, because it's treating adults as children. Children at a certain age need to hear No and simply No, because at their stage of development they do not understand complex reasons. But little after they start needing justifications to understand and accept the No. If this is an ADULT and PROFESSIONAL forum, than voting down without any further reasoning is treating adults as little children.

I do not see how removing the Disagree button makes people a "bunch of good little robots" as mentioned earlier. In fact it's the opposite. You can program a robot to press indefinitely a Minus or Disagree button, but you can't make it reply in an intelligent manner.

Never mind.  Its a waste of time debating with people whose whole contribution to a conversation is -1, and don't even have the brains or balls to back it up.

Actually I think having the ability to show that you "do not agree" is less confrontational than the only remaining option of stating why using text.

Now we have people skirting the issue by copying whole posts and just putting -1 or 'I disagree', which is as pointless as the button and adds nothing of value to the conversation.

If people disagree with a post they should be able to come up with a reason.

The disagree button seems to be spreading more hate than it is help.  Perhaps that button should be done away while keeping the agree button.

From the forum:
"We've identified the issue causing the phantom download issue. It's a display issue that isn't impacting royalties in any way. We have a fix that we are hoping to push live as early as EOD (Friday May 29) but more likely early next week. Again, I will repeat; There aren't any royalty related issues attached to this bug. It's 100% a display issue which we will be resolving shortly."
Oh sure... a "display issue"

I have a small port, less than 200, so fairly easy to check most of my port.
A couple of weeks back I started comparing DL numbers under the thumbnails in my port, not the old ADP, and the numbers for the same files in the My Uploads page and so far I've found around 40 extra DLs.
Whilst it's not possible to know exactly when the discrepancies for all the files began, I have seen around 10 DL increases for thumbnail details since starting to check without any corresponding increase in royalties or changes in the My Uploads page.
You're not allowed to talk about it in the forums, unless your post claims it's a bug showing false DLs, otherwise your post gets deleted especially by Kelvinjay who has become very trigger happy with the delete button.
Yep, that's the situation over there.

Where are you seeing downloads on the 'search results'?
On any search results page you can see your downloads total at the bottom of the image (just where they have always been).
I don't see download totals unless I change the display settings and then I only see >10 or >100.
Try F5.  Sometimes I only see the  >10 or >100 but after F5 I can see exact number.

In the last 14 days or so I put up almost 200 new files. Not even one single view has been recorded on any of them at all. I guess the new new just keeps getting newer.
Mod have noted over there that 'views are being recorded differently', but have offered no explanation.
Mind you, the last time they said only views from registered buyers counted, but someone here on msg (forget who, sorry) discovered that views from your 'friends' counted too. And that wasn't necessarily all, even though clearly very few views were showing.
So the new riddle is 'when is a view not a view'?
or, more pertinently, 'when is a view a view'?
And even more important:  When is a sale not a sale?   I have now lots of sales showing only on the old style ADP pages and search results pages but not in file download history pages and sub reports.
This is a noted bug over there.
But your observation is interesting. I'd thought, based on a couple of recent files showing the ghost download which I can see (I can't imagine the time which would be involved in searching through all my files) that they were sub sales which had somehow been reported as 'proper' sales, but you say yours aren't showing up as subs. Oh well, we'll just have to leave it to them to figure it out.  ::) ??? :-\
Yes, I know it's a noted "bug" over there.  A "bug" that's been affecting many of my files.

Let's see just one example:
On search results, on of my files shows 773  downloads.  However, according to the records at my_uploads page or at its download history page, that file has only 763 downloads.
At first I thought the missing 10 downloads could have been subscriptions.  But when I go to subscritions report, this file has had more than 50 subs downloads.  Getty sales maybe? Nope! It has had only 4 of those.  Old credit subscriptions?  Nope!

April was a horrible month.  Sales at Getty didn't help at all.  They were a complete disaster.

I do take advice from experienced people. Nice people. Not from anonymous people putting down others.

good luck all.
How many times have you left MSG?  I've lost count. ;D

I wonder what your new nickname will be next time you come back...

I just read the title, I didnt get the email. I also see no changes here in Germany. I just understood it to be they would have the same system as istock.

So please can someone explain what exactly is changing.
They are merging the prices of two RF collections (Standard and Premium).  I didn't even know there was RF Standard and RF Premium.

120
Getty has many customers who are not as price sensitive, so to offer all sizes at one price does allow them to offer a simpler user interface and maybe help justify a higher average buying price.
Maybe.  Though this is not what they are doing.
For istock, i believe they should reintroduce a credit based Web size buying option
Completely agree.  That change has been a disaster.

121
So, what are they doing? I don't really underdtand what they are meaning wiith this "single tier price" expression.
They are merging the prices of two RF collections.

122
izzikiorage, please change the title of this thread.  Getty is not removing its size based RF pricing.  Read again!

They will be sending payouts on the 22nd this month due to the U.S. Holiday on Monday.
You're right.  Payouts should be sent on the 22nd this month.

Oh finally ı recieved 100 Dollars at iStock. Does iStock send my money to my paypal account at 25th? or should ı do something to request my money?
I guess you mean you have reached $100.  If you reached them before April 30th, then you'll receive your money on May25th. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until June 25th.

We need a subscription product and we elected to increase the rights rather than decrease the royalty.  It's very much in line with what other agencies - where we all contribute - provide.

We don't expect subscriptions to become our primary product like they are at SS and many others.
Bla bla bla bla...

It seems like copy/paste of so many other agencies' speech!
