Is there a minimum size limit at StockXpert? I just uploaded a few pictures, and while categorizing them they were already accepted. ALL 25 of them in one batch and within just an hour or so! Last time they took over 2 weeks and accepted maybe 65% or so The strange thing is that for one photo I made a mistake and uploaded a 800x533 photo.... and they accepted it... Is that normal?

Hello,
I am trying to use the poll feature... I hope this is not an offensive question: I would like to see how many people put the same photos on micro- and macrostock. Some say it's not professional, others say why not, markets are different. It'd be interesting to know what you guys think!

Hello,
It's probably an old topic, and i have found various entries about this in the search...but still... recently I got accepted at Alamy, and now I am kind of reconsidering where I put which shots and with which license. I have just recently started, and so my pictures are not yet extremely stock-like, and on the microstocksites I have mostly landscapes and other nice things (weirdly they seemed to accept them more!).
so now i have to find a strategy. should i, in the future, put all my landscapes and nice travel pictures as RM on Alamy and only "cheaper" microstock stuff on the microstock sites? How do you handle that?
Thanks! Simone

Hello,
I would like to buy myself a basic sort of equipment for making isolated shots. It should also be a little versatile for other purposes (portraits and such).
I read Zack Arias' tutorial - it is great!!! Anyhow, as it is my first time I am dealing with studio lights, I have a lot of doubts. (If I am in the wrong forum, please just tell me).
1) I need three lights. I have one SB-900 up to now. What should I add for the other two? Are other two Nikon Speedlights enough power? (This solution seems however a bit expensive...) I read also about AlienBees... I am thinking of lighting the white background with the lights and use my flash for the foreground. What do you think?
2) What is the cheapest, and what a comfortable solution for these lights? (I'd like to save some money).
3) OK and now the most stupid question....are these units all flashes or continuous lights? When do I use what, what is better? (sorry the basic question).
4) How much will it cost me? (the lights plus their supports and the things i need for the lights; I already figured out a support for the white background roll)
Oh and I don't have so much space. I don't need a huge setup. It has to be small, thus maybe less power needed.
Thank you! Simone

Hello,
I submitted 4 photos to Alamy for initial test submission. I got an answer, where for 3 files nothing was written, and for the fourth file, "noticeable retouching" was given.
Does it mean I can resubmit the other three and only change the fourth? Or do they mean that this reason is for all four pictures?

Is it better to put less keywords? What is your strategy? I kept using close to the maximum but I read it is worse....so I would like to hear your opinion. :-))
Thank you! Simone

Hello,
I just got a photo accepted in FT, and a few minutes later it was suddenly rejected (overabundant category). It was a landscape of a beautiful lake, no pictures of that place yet in Fotolia.....
Is that normal or should I contact them?

Hello,
I have joined the microstock world 2-3 weeks ago, and signed up with Fotolia and Dreamstime, and it has gone quite ok up to now. I would like to extend to more agencies - but all the others of the Big 6 need to review some of your pictures for becoming a contributor. I know that this is hard for Istock, but is it also that hard for StockXpert and 123RF? I would like to find out if I should wait a bit longer until I have become more familiar with the microstock world or if I can send them some decent photos and try.

Hello, I have started with microstock shortly, and got 10-20 pictures online with Fotolia and Dreamstime and sold 6 (that's cool!). They liked mostly my landscapes, but now I'd like to put more stock oriented things... and here I am really bad at isolating them. I have this picture of an old key, I guess it's stock-oriented. It was rejected because of techincal problems at Fotolia (Dreamstime still in the queue), and I am sure it's because of my bad isolation skills, it is the second time I am doing that, and it took hours and hours and hours. How do you guys do that? I like the quick selection in cs4, and i use that onOne Mask plugin...but many times the quick mask is not doing what i want, and the onOne thing is also quite cumbersome... is there something better? Here is the photo. It was against a green background, and since the metal reflects the green got a bit tirening to isolate... http://simsisworld.at/public/key.jpg(please don't kill me immediately, i have never done this before.....) Hello,
my keywords are not translated to other languages for a photo... is that normal? I am new to Dreamstime, how can I contact support to tell them about this?
Thank you! S.

Hello,
I am new to Dreamstime. I wonder if there is a way to order the keywords according to importance? For me they always remain in alphabetic order. Probably that is normal, but I wasn't sure, I wanted to ask. :-)
And what does that keyword cloud represent? what does it mean if some words are bigger? I have pictures with 0 views with big and small keywords, obviously it can't be the words they used to search for finding my pictures?
Thank you! S.

Hello,
I am new to microstock... and totally confused about all the model and property release things. I hope I don't post into the wrong section, but I found no section for this...
So at first, when exactly do you need a model release? I have two examples of photos below where you don't see the person's face, hence...no model release? Even if the person is the main subject of the photo? (I won't actually use those, they're just snapshots of my friends ;-)), just as an example)
And then what makes me much more confused are all the property releases..... I mean I can never be sure to be alright if I don't go into each of the buildings of my pictures and ask... For example I took a picture of the Alaska railway. Is it protected, do I have to remove their logo from the train, etc etc...... :-(
I also took a good picture of New York Times Square. But with all the logos....brand names, etc. Can I upload it?? Even if I remove them all (which is practically impossible), that would not be Times Square then...
Thank you so much for your answers! S.

Hello,
I am new to Fotolia... and I can't figure out what are the symbols below the photos. The first two I guess are Views and Downloads, but the third?
Thank you very much! S.

Hello!
I have signed up for microstock a few days ago. (Fotolia for the moment). I got one picture accepted (hooray!), three rejected, and a few more under revision. Their email doesn't say very clearly what might be wrong, it says technical problems, and it might be any of noise, blurriness, etc.
That's why I would like to show you my first trials and ask you for an opinion. If I shoot in RAW and do not sharpen at all, will they consider it blurry? I deliberately left it unsharpened, because they suggest so. And how much noise is too much? If I look at 100% and see a vague impression of noise, is that already too much?
Thank you so much! S.
