Thanks for your answers! As I said, great help and I really appreciate it!

Think any of these will be okay with the CA removed, and softening the isolations??

iStockPhoto.com / Please help me with images to first submission
« on: January 16, 2013, 13:08 »
Hi all!

Ok, I have read all the fuzz about iStock lately, and maybe I'm crazy but I'd still like to be a contributor at iStock. So I'm going to submit some test-images and would really apreciate if you can give any advice or thoughts if these images will do at all. I do mostly studio shots of people, but I guess I have to show three different kind of images.

Here are the links:

Thanks a lot for your help. Really  appreciate it!

General Stock Discussion / Re: December 2012 Stats Thread
« on: January 02, 2013, 06:16 »
My SS dollars are down 33% from november which was my BME. I am 10 months in stock now and it has me worried that my port is not good enough. The drop in December is too big for a new portfolio imo. So 2013  for me is about adding better photos and a lot of them.

Now you got me curious, can you link to your port?

Congrats to the win! But unfortunately ruxpriencdiam is correct IMO. A light tents is no good! In fact its not good at all despite what you've seen on youtube. You'll have no control of the ligt and the images will look flat and unappealing. It feels like a light tent is just a way to squeeze some money from unaware camera owners.

Anyway you are better off than me who actually payed a lot of money for a light tent a couple of years ago :(

Good luck!

Alamy.com / Payment options at Alamy?
« on: December 18, 2012, 08:47 »
Just signed up with Alamy!

Searched the site (Alamy) for some sort of payout option, but couldnt find it. I read here somewhere that payments are done automatically when you reach 175$, but how and where do I specify for example my PayPal account?

Thanks!

Sorry if this question should be in the newbie section, but why do people buy images from Alamy. I mean the prices are a lot higher than in microstock, right? What extra do they get out of buying from Alamy?

The way I said takes nothing away from the original release but just adds a bit on to make it relevant to the country that it is being signed in.

Thanks I will try that :)

64
Is the country that you live in mentioned in this part of the release?
"I agree that this release is irrevocable, worldwide and perpetual, and will be governed by the laws (excluding the law of conflicts) of the country/state from the following list that is nearest to the address of the Model (or Parent*) given opposite: New York, Alberta, England, Australia and New Zealand."
If not get rid of those countries and substitute it with the country that you are in.   I did that and it worked for me.

No I work in Sweden. But if I cahnge it to "laws of sweden" will the release still work at the other sites you think? I rather not carry around extra releases for specific agencies....
I just looked at what I did and I had added my country to the list without deleting the other countries.  Then write at the top in big letters " Release  for use in Sweden"

And this works for all other sites too?

None of the other sites have a problem with the Getty release, it's only Dreamstime that do. What Dreamstime don't understand is that by telling you to alter the wording to Sweden if there's ever a legal issue DT's legal team will be dealing with Swedish law. There's a reason Getty have listed the states/countries they have and it's because it's where they have legal representation - hence the 'nearest to the address of the model' part.

RT>>Exactly what I thought, so how do you guys and girls work aroun this? Is double releases the only way?  BTW, Thanks for your great replys...

Hi there folks!

Hope you can help me out with this one...

I use a model release with the standard Getty text as seen here: contribute.gettyimages.com/producer/documents/Model_Release_English_Dec_2008.pdf (Sorry, I cant post a rel link here yet) .
This MR is accepted by all my other agencies (123RF, BS, CS, CreS, DP and FT)

Now DT wont accept this text arguing that:

Quote
The following paragraph: "..
....and will be governed by the laws (excluding the law of conflicts) of the country/state from the following list that is nearest to the address of the Model (or Parent*) given opposite: New York, Alberta, England, Australia and New Zealand......" renders your  model realease  unusable for Dreamstime.
This paragraph should be :" and will be governed by the international laws or laws of Sweden.

Now is this for real? Dont they accept the worlds most used and generic MR?! Or am I just missing something here?

Please help me understand this!

Same problem for me now. Anyone else still experiencing this problem???
