Image Sleuth / Re: someone selling my vector on shutterstock
« on: November 27, 2018, 10:12 »
Can you post his Adobe Stock portfolio?

It took them between 1-2 weeks the last time I reported an infringer. That was about a month ago. Because of the Thanksgiving weekend, you may be looking at 2 weeks.

And you gotta love how lazy they are. Copy the exact same keywords and then have the image show up in the similars section. Makes it easy for them to get caught.

Thank you, I hope they delete it until the end of the week.
Here it is the port on AS: https://stock.adobe.com/ro/contributor/207492251/50mm-studio

Why would SS hurry??  when theyre earning money on all stolen goods!
Thats exactly why I dont think they care about it, unless a contributor makes a big stink, or its one of their best-selling contributors. Money is money, they dont care how they make it.

That's what I am afraid of and unfortunately as you can see I am not a top contributor :(

And he/she has the guts to put this in the profile.

"Welcome to my portfolio. I am very passionate illustrator and photographer. My portfolio is very randomized so I hope you find and buy. Thank you."

Yes, I saw that, very annoying :(
In the meantime I found the same port on adobe stock also.

Image Sleuth / someone selling my vector on shutterstock
« on: November 25, 2018, 15:16 »
I got an e-mail from a nice stranger, warning me someone is selling my illustration on shutterstock.

Original: https://www.shutterstock.com/image-vector/childrens-style-drawing-traditional-family-children-536257561
Copy: https://www.shutterstock.com/image-vector/people-generations-different-ages-man-woman-1162014682

I reported it to shutterstock, almost one week ago, but the image is still online for sale.
Anyone knows how long does it take to be taken down? (I guess it is pretty obvious, no need for investigation).

Also, you might want to check his/her port...

For me royalties from vectorstock are about 8% of what I earn on shutterstock. What I have also noticed is that VS has very low sales during summer months. The ~8% is an average for 2018. Hope this helps.

How are you able to track if something is removed?

I am not. Just clicked on the image ID on sales page and showed not available.

So Canva removed 80% of my approved images and now they'll get tons of similar "unwanted" images through IS.
BAD BAD NEWS!

What? Can you elaborate what happened? How they just remove your images? This is scary.

Few years ago they decided to remove a lot of previously approved images, because they don't need them anymore! Even images with a lot of sales have been deleted! It was not just me, many contributors complained about it here on MSG.

I just noticed, that some of my images (that sold quite well) were removed. The funniest thing, that I keep getting sales for an image that is not available anymore...

This teaming up with getty is very disappointing indeed :( .

Adobe Stock / Re: How do i upload my eps files to adobe stock
« on: April 13, 2018, 15:16 »
Sorry, I wrote something and then I realized stupid, so I deleted it.

I still upload to Fotolia (instead of Adobe) and they don't ask for specific eps resolution, so I don't know how to help. Sorry.

Is Canva worth it? They keep inviting me to be a contributor and I can't figure out how they work. And they look very low on the earnings survey totem pole.

Edited to add: I read through some of the thread and it doesn't sound worth it. I knew there was a reason I didn't respond to their invites.

I also think it depends what kind of images you have.
I have 20 % of my portfolio on canva (compared to SS or Adobe) and not even the best ones, and the earnings are 18% of what I earn on SS.

For me it totally worth it. The contributor interface is not the best though. :)

Maybe we should have an anonymous poll and grant to the qualified agencies the right to use a "fair trade" label.

Exactly my thought after reading this topic. Would be even nicer if this could be done "officially" like setting some terms under which an agency can have this label and they could add this to their website.
I wonder if it is possible.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Best stocks for selling vector
« on: January 25, 2018, 11:09 »
Hi,

I can only speak from my own experience (I only sell vectors) and my top 5 is:

Shutterstock
AdobeStock
123rf
Canva
Dreamstime

There is also Getty (iStock) somewhere there, but I have stopped uploading there a few years ago, when they started with their ridiculous prices (also their contributor interface where sales are reported looks like something from the 90's), so I don't recommend.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Best Websites for Selling Pattern
« on: January 23, 2018, 11:39 »
Hi,

I don't know any specific site for patterns only (except maybe patterndesigns.com - with pretty low sales).
You can try on all generic stocksites (see list on the right).
As long as you are not exclusive with any of the sites, you can submit the same file to several agencies.
Good luck!

+ for new images, you can set the price when submitting

After a quick search I found out storyblocks is videoblocks rebranded, so you should search the forum for that, there's plenty of posts about videoblocks.

I don't know if they are good enough, I am not a contributor there.

...

Regarding your ticket, I recently opened one, (about a rejection / misunderstanding) and they replied pretty fast, you should try again. Make sure you choose "contributor question" from drop-down menu, and that your e-mail address is correct.

I did this three times, and in 2 months: never solved the problem nor replied; and the problem is still there :(

Sorry to hear that, I don't know what to say, and why they are treating contributors differently. And I am not even some big player, so I don't get it.

I don't think this "Fresh" thing is a bad  thing. Like you said, it's better to sell a file one time than 0 time. And that will not stop your file to being sold again, it's just an extra thing - the way I see it. Not all customers will use it all the time probably.

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock Contributor Portal Updates
« on: May 06, 2017, 06:37 »
So....from what I see at this time on Adobe is that the EPS upload process simply does not work and at this time there is zero way to get vector content onto adobe. Am I understanding this correctly?  It seems to have been like this all week.

You are half right. EPS vector uploads are temporarily disabled. You can upload AI vectors however. I'll be sure to post an update here in MSG once the EPS uploads are reactivated.

thanks,

Mat

Thank you for keeping us updated. Can you estimate how long it will take for the vector uploads to be back to normal? I am trying to decide if I should wait, or upload AI (which I prefer not to, except if it takes a long time to fix the issue).

For 2 days i was trying to figure out what is wrong with my eps...  ::)
Should we wait for a fix in a near future (couple of more days) or should we save AI? I really hope it's the first one.

How about the rest of my earnings once I have no longer access to the site ?

I would also like to know that, so i can plan closing my account. Can anyone share that with us? Thanks!
