If you want to be 100% safe, just make your own photos.

It works for me. Sales are rare, as always. 205
General - Top Sites / Re: For vector artists only: who's your recent top earners?« on: February 04, 2017, 10:42 »
After SS and FT for me is 123RF (closely followed by DT).
About iS I have no idea, and I stopped uploading there since summer of last year. I only use IS when I have problems with my too low blood-pressure, I just read one of their e-mails, and I am as good as new : 206

I just love how they finish their e-mail:
"We hope you enjoy ESP!" Do you? 208
Image Sleuth / Re: Oh dear Canstock tut tut« on: January 25, 2017, 12:39 »Yeah... well I've pretty much stopped uploading to any micros because of stuff like this. I'm having better results elsewhere. I am around since 2009 and still uploading. My earnings are a bit lower than previous years, but I really love to do this (draw whatever I like, not what is imposed). It is not my only income, sometimes I do custom works (but those clients also come through to microstock). Where else are you having better results if you don't mind me asking? 209

I can only see one image of a sunrise in this port. For a moment I thought maybe it is his/her only original image, but I was wrong, it is also a stolen image:

It happened to me too lately, but I really don't think it is for all vectors (after that batch I submitted an other vector and they did not ask for anything).
Perhaps it is just a new reviewer for vectors. 213

(I am not saying it will be you, can be just anyone reading this). I agree. Different sites, different images that sell. My best seller on DT is so old and bad that I am ashamed to show it . I made it when I discovered the rotate tool in Corel Draw LOL. 215

(I am not saying it will be you, can be just anyone reading this). It is nothing special about it though, I think it was just uploaded in the right time (without planning it) and then made it to popular - first or second for some keywords, and it is still there. Now it does not sell so much, but still sells everyday. And the reason I think others outdo that for sure: this vector never made it to most popular vectors (regardless of keywords). I am talking about shutterstock BTW. 217
Shutterstock.com / Re: how many vector files should i have to make $100 per month« on: January 09, 2017, 16:52 »Although, they probably haven't got just one image... they'll have a bunch of images, but one or more of them make $100 a month. This is how I meant.. But for sure it is possible. I am not that successful, but still I have one vector that made 100$ a month for almost 3 years. I imagine people with really popular vectors outdo that easily. Anyways, the original question was not so good (that is why I responded like this) because it is not about how many files, but what quality and what is the demand etc. - and that is hard to quantify. 218

I don't remember when was the last time I submitted tax form, but maybe 2 years ago. They warn you in an e-mail when it's expired. And perhaps you can also see that is expired, when you go to complete it (this I am not sure about). 224

Shutterstock.com / Re: Anyone uploading this week? Xams?« on: December 19, 2016, 09:29 »
Because everything changes randomly (search, new images missing and other technical problems) I just stopped caring about these things, and I upload my new files as soon as they are ready.
I don't think I can influence anything with choosing the right time to upload. So might not be the best strategy saleswise, but for sure it is good for my mental health (not stressing too much about it). Surprisingly I had some sales of the new files I uploaded these days.. So I guess you can never be sure about who buys what and when. My 2012 calendar sells even now, so it is really beyond me to understand buyers. |
