Alamy.com / Alamay, micros and Editorial
« on: September 10, 2012, 03:24 »
Hoping for some clarification here....

I know that I mustn't submit general RF micro photos to Alamy as RM.
BUT
if I understand correctly, any Editorial photos (with logos, products, people etc) submitted to Alamy automatically become RF.
So does this mean that I must choose EITHER to send Editorial to the micros OR Alamy?

Maybe I'm just easily confused but advice appreciated!

« on: August 02, 2012, 00:42 »
Thanks for comments. I'm not worried about video as that doesn't interest me. The higher noise, however, does... Maybe I'll also just practise sitting on my hands for a bit longer though I'm itching to upgrade...! Or maybe get the latest Lumix GX1 so I can continue to use existing lenses etc....
Decision, decisions....!

Truly feeble July. Even beaten by CS who I stopped uploading to ages back due to low sales - but everything is relative I guess! At least at CS every so often there is a half decent sale to boost things! So going back to CS - and as for 123...well, if they DO cut commissions like they are saying...they could become my 'new CS'!!!

Hi - just wondered if you got it and, if so, whether you like it! I'm thinking of upgrading my Lumix GF1 for a better sensor, better higher ISO camera (nothing higher than 100 much good for stock on the GF1). I love the idea of virtually no shutter lag on AF and in live view which I use quite a bit for macro. May have to settle for the A55 or similar, though, if I'm to afford any lenses...unless the EL fairy puts in a few more appearances than she has done lately....!
Been to the Sony site but would appreciate any comments from the stock point of view.

Strange!

OK - I know I am decades behind many of you in technology - but if I see a request for something I have/can do, how do I let the requester know? With the old forum system you just posted it there.....
Do I have to JOIN Twitter? Can't say I'm keen on this. Tried Facebook once - really scary!!!!!!!

A Dinosaur.

Thanks jsnover. I had no  idea................!!!!!!!!!!!

123RF / Re: 123, any improvements?
« on: May 29, 2012, 04:27 »
Hmmmm... interesting stuff....
but I notice that at 123 the basic sub is 36c. At FT most sales are 23 or 27 cents - surely even worse.
Any thoughts?
I've abandoned uploading to FT as the rates are SO low and the upload process such a pain. But the 123 commission planned cut also stinks....

Down, down...d..d..d..down...!
Will the trend ever reverse?
Another bad month......
Do we know if the search glitch is sorted - or is this the new reality - and best get used to it?

21 cents. Let's party! Oh well, at least they noticed it, told us and DID something!

Ignore me! It must be my computer.   ::)
I tried another and all was ok.

Dreamstime.com / Can't upload Model or Property Releases
« on: May 03, 2012, 13:33 »
Is it just me??? I emailed support a while back about the MR but heard nothing. Still can't get an MR through - and today I find the same problem with a Property Release. I get this message:

Bad Request

Both MR and PR are jpeg and in the past I have sent some up...

Dreamstime.com / Re: DT Pricing Changes? Stay tuned...
« on: April 19, 2012, 01:43 »
Heaven only knows what it is favouring. I'm heading for the worst month in TWO YEARS!!! And back then I had only just started submitting.
RPD is normal, just downloads have tanked....
:(

294
I see nothing about this algorithm problem on the DT site. Does anybody know if it is sorted yet? I'm still selling nothing and while not big fry in microstock, there is usually a regular trickle of sales so I guess not....

Dreamstime.com / Re: Upload DT files not being processed
« on: April 09, 2012, 01:56 »
Some are making it through....but thumbnails aren't being generated, just code numbers....

But sending anything up at the moment doesn't seem a good idea for me - I remain invisible to the new search system so will wait...

296
Some win, some lose. For me no sales for days....

QUOTE: Lastly, I do hope that everyone here enjoys the fruits of their labor earning more than 50% commissions from 123RF in 10 months time.

(A dim and distant) hope is a jolly fine thing, given that we were led to expect a REAL 50% NOW!

Sigh..........

298
Great! 15% pay cut in one fell swoop! So much for fairness etc etc etc - and those hoops to qualify and remain at 50%!
I'm sure I'm like many, and only started to upload to 123RF yes - to sell some photos - but also to support a decent agency.
Rethink necessary I  fear!
:(

Shutterstock.com / Problems accessing SS forum
« on: February 13, 2012, 05:17 »
Hi - until recently this was just a click on the menu button and voil! Now I get a message saying that access to the forum is:
application/x-httpd-php (14.2 kB)
and Firefox queries whether I want to save it - or else I have the option of browsing for a programme to open it (but which one???).
Anybody else having this problem?
What should I do?
I would, of course, have posted this query in the SS forum....but I can't get in ;)
